Rooster, I am disappointed in you. Much like the Shakespeare character in Upstart Crow who forever claims to have invented practically every cliche and idiom in the English language, you are claiming a term that has been in use since the 1960s and that I particularly remember from the TV series "That's Life", which had its weekly Jobsworth award. As a Scrabble payer you are surely aware that the word appears in Chambers Dictionary. 24 points without bonuses; nice!
You misunderstood, probably due to my poor wording. When I said it was my word I meant that in the original story that I translated myself I decided to use that word. It is indeed a great Scrabble word though I am yet to get to play it.
Thanx for reading.

Talking of people making mega bucks reminded me about the guys who made a mint running some private bus companies.
Their idea to self-publicise their success story with a website went through the roof after they registered the name bigbustycoons.com
A bit like the person trying to help people with their problems who had difficulty with the space bar. The rapist.

You should have decamped to the wife’s family up here in Loei Rooster. Life has barely changed. The only noticeable difference is that more people (not everyone) are wearing face masks and some shops have sanitisers at the entrance. Beer was getting difficult to purchase towards the end of the ban, but could be found if you hunted around.
Last week we had an inaugural opening of a ban phu paid for by a now wealthy ex-resident. It was attended by at least 100 people all huddled closely together in the available shade. One of the few people to wear a mask was the phu yai ban, but he discarded it once the after show party (complete with music, booze and 30 somethings) commenced.
Covid-19? Not up here thank you very much.
Not for me thanks. Mrs R is threatening to go for the last month of the school "hols", that'll be break enough. I shall stay in the land of the living. Bangkok has been peaceful, clean and pleasant. The countryside has never been for me. However, I might pop up for a few days if the rains come and the temperature drops below 35C.

Not a derogatory remark. ......
'POTUS' began as an abbreviation used by telegraphic code operators in the 1890s. It stands for "President of the United States."
SCOTUS =Supreme Court of the United States
FLOTUS=First Lady of the United States etc...
TLOTUS=Where I get HP sauce

This story is out of date. Licenses that have expired since January 2 are all extended until the emergency decree ends. Insurance remains valid. A new story will be in the newsletter this afternoon.

I think it's a reasonable response by the police.
You clearly understand Thailand much better than so many TV posters who live in their expat bubble oblivious to reality.

Our family went to Suan Rot Fai (railway park) in Chatuchak this afternoon. It was beautiful and almost deserted. Lots of wildlife, well maintained and very friendly staff. After we went for a snack at a restaurant, again everyone so welcoming after the long break. I know the park usually has about 50% Burmese, I know that many people left for the holiday weekend, but I was still amazed how few there were - I couldn't wait to get out and we had a brilliant afternoon. Several incidents and conversations reminded me that I would never dream of living anywhere else except Bangkok.

You might have made a distinction between Thai and foreign tourists. My view is that generally people will stay in their home countries for holidays for many years. Thai tourism in Thailand will slowly get better. It will be a lot faster to return to normal than foreign tourism that will take years.
The dire economic results of the virus and people's unwillingness to fly are key.

So Bangkok is opening restaurants, gyms, golf courses, massage parlours and spas, but you can't even stroll along Pattaya or Jomtien Beach. What an utter farce.
Not at all. Bangkokians have repeatedly shown during the pandemic that they are responsible citizens who can be trusted.
Compare that to the numpties in Pattaya.
We will enjoy some respite come Sunday, fully deserved.

Don't worry, we're not that cruel! Probably the most notable examples of an airliner gliding was an Air Canada flight back '83.
Google 'Gimli glider' for an interesting read.
Few airline stories can beat the Galunggung Gliding Club.

And this is exactly how languages become so corrupted by illiterates as to be indecipherable and easily misunderstood. What utility a language that cannot be decoded with any certainty ?
Maybe we should all just start grunting and whistling.
So what do you say when you actually could care less?
I suggest "guff ddsdtjjd".
Sound good?
My favorite in the Scrabble dictionary is BACTERIAS.
Too much Covid, methinks.

Rooster writes a commentary, not a news report, and he is not a sovereign leader who words should /could serve as guidance for a nation.
You know, it's like the commentators on fox News who can spout nonsense with immunity because they are not reporters; such as pushing malaria drugs as a virus cure for weeks with no factual basis whatsoever.
Rooster, like these types, is entitled to his opinion regardless of how ridiculous or biased it may appear to you.

"Generally i could care less"
Are you aware of what this phrase actually means? Think about it for a minute. I think you will see that it conveys the polar opposite of your presumed intent.
What to Know
Merriam-Webster treats the phrases couldn't care less and could care less as synonymous, both meaning "not concerned or interested at all." "Couldn't care less" is the older and more obvious phrase grammatically, but it has been confused for so long that both are now defined. Additionally, the example sentence "it's impossible that could care less" is the same as the intended meaning.

My feelings exactly. I don't why I bother to read this claptrap. Maybe it's because I need to
reflect at what somebody with too much time on his/her hands thinks the world needs to hear their thoughts.
Doesn't everyone have too much time on their hands right now?

Soooo, you got your little dig in at Donald this week. No problem. But an easy mark with
thousands of like minded ( read: self centered power figures) running amok
I guess what really caused me concern is that I do not think you would think that your writing
reflects the usual MSM blah blah ( maybe i'm wrong ?)
The excerpt above IMO is one that plays right out of the brainwashing playbook. Write something that gives the impression that there are FACTS involved. The words "suggesting" and "may" are definitely not factual..... but those
puppetsreaders who are not so keen willobviously take this as a warning. Yes, the art of "suggesting" and "maybe" are quite effective,
but it is what goes around those words that media chooses to edit as they deem fit.
Generally i could care less .......... but as you and almost everyone is reminding us.....
these are unprecedented times .
You make an excellent point. Now to figure out what it is.

Thanks very much for reading.
Another 216 await you in the archive, done on the previous 216 Sundays since 2016 when I began working at Thaivisa as a translator.
By the way I don't claim to be clever. And if you really read this week's offering and grasped its meaning you might have appreciated the number of times I professed my ignorance and put myself down.
Try it!
