They shouldn't have kept any originals as he might need these again.

I did all of the above - got marriage certificate, degree certificates, signed and then legalised in UK, stamped at the Thai Embassy in London.

    Translated and stamped at MFA.

They didn't keep any originals when when we went to do KR22.

Yellow book took 9 months to get! (I think it was just sitting in someone's draw and they forgot to tell us)

Wow, i just completed mine in a small district office not far from Udon Thani. I'm Australian so the certification of documents was easy but still very expansive. Yellow Book took just under a month to get.

    Some Notes.
Translators can get the MFA stamp for you for not much more.

Amphur office at (Wang Sam Mo)
    Yellow Book

Photos with the Village Head of the village, His ID, Signed photocopy and he needed to be present

My Wifes ID Car, My Wife
    Certified passport (Translated) (MFA Stamp)
Certified Foreign Marriage Certificate (Translated) (MFA Stamp)
They kept original documents, I made good copies.

I needed to take photos of the house, again with the Village head.

Passport Photos, I gave them 6

Also note you need your BDM Registered Marriage certificate for Australia not your Original Marriage Certificate. Your Certificate needs to include all your information including your parents names.

    Kor Ror 22
    This was the easy part
Yellow Book, My pink ID card
    Witness x 2
    Wife
They also required the Foreign Marriage Certificate + Passport translations, they made copies again for this.

Anyone happen to have a copy of the affidavit form? maybe I could print a copy and fill it out to see if they would accept it, or any other official sources that state the embassy letter is not required?

I have seen it on the thai visa advice facebook page, there's two different variations of it. one is English only the other is English & Thai

You can provide some evidence, if your in america, eu, uk cases of covid19 have blown up. print out the immigration facebook announcement showing the letter is not required.

9/10 they just want something on paper.

I got a 60 day extension on marriage before the cutoff in September, paying 1900 Badt and I'm wondering if anyone has tried to get the update in chiangmai?

That's a different type of extension. You can wait until next month and do the amnesty extension or apply for 1 year extension if you have all the correct documents before it's to late.

UbonJoe, I hope you can help clarify for me please ...
... Please see Photo of Passport below ...

    ThaiVisa.Passport.Stamp.Blurred.thumb.jpg.b37ee5b6b1a0b00e95434f3487fd69f9.jpg

The day before the September 25 deadline (2020.09.24) I did the 30 day extension at MTT.

Two days later they announced the amnesty until 2020.10.27 - now extended to 2020.10.31 this week.
I had been told by a dubious visa agent that my visa was ON HOLD during the Amnesty - my 30 days would be added to the end of the amnesty, making it valid until 2020.11.27 supposedly.

    IS THIS CORRECT?

Do I have to go in before 2020.10.31 or before 2020.11.27?

If I do have to do an extension this week, would the on-going COVID-19 pandemic situation in Australia and lack of available flights be sufficient for 60 days extension.
(Just to clarify the lack of flights - I am in a wheelchair and airlines now only allow 1 Disabled passenger per flight - currently a waiting list of 87 disabled people waiting for flights to Australia)

Thankyou in advance for your assistance

Did you go back on the 22nd October ? that is an under consideration stamp, you should have returned on the 22nd like the stamp says. to get the real permission to stay stamp.

RiP young man, tragic accident if the cooker was faulty in any way.

faulty by poor design, cheap trash. These pans have no earth, just two prongs. Sometimes they have a separate earth connection on the back but are rarely wired in.

some houses despite having 3 pin outlets are not wired correctly with no earth, it's one of the first things i check now and i'll never touch one of these pans.

    Hi

I was so lucky I got the kor ror 22 without certification of the marriage certificate at the embassy /Mfa.

My question is then, will the Immigration Office require the marriage certificate to be verified by embassy and Mfa or are they okay with a translated Marriage Certificate.

Kor Ror 22 + Original marriage english certificate was all i needed. Like UbonJoe said above. I did have copies of the certified Copys from the MFA incase but were never asked for as these are only needed for the District Office.

A affidavit in his case is the only way he can legalize his marriage certificate without waiting for months to get it done the US.

Not every country's embassy can legalize a marriage certificate or any other document. Ask a person form the UK about it for example.

yes, i researched and everything was different. If he can do just the affidavit that's great, it was a nightmare of a process at the village there was only one lady that had any idea what a KR.22 was. I still need to get a KR.2 can this be done at any Amphur ?

  8. I Just went though this and now have my KR.22 (I'm Australian), Applied at my wifes Village near Udon Thani

    I needed

Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate > Translated > Certified Translation at MFA Ministry of foreign affairs.

Certified Copy of Passport > Translated > Certified Translation at MFA Ministry of foreign affairs.

All this can be done by an Agent. I did the translations + MFA though an agent. I was also able to use just the above at Udon immigration to extend using the 60 family extension.

The marriage certificate needs to show your parents names, address. For Australians like me it's the BDM Marriage certificate not the other one.

It takes about a week to get the translations and MFA stamps.

    Amphur

I'm not sure if you can just get an affidavit as you still need to get the MFA stamp for the amphur office, that is the only thing they seem to care about but to get the MFA stamp it needs to be legalized by your Embassy apparently which is the embassy stamp. We were caught out with this with my passport, Agent said we only needed a translation but then the Amphur wanted the MFA stamp. So that was two trips to bangkok .

Also at the Amphur ( District Office ) is another process in it's self, I had to get photos with the village head honcho, Photos of house and family, photos of the head of district office. I needed two witnesses to sign the KR.22 document.

I'm unsure of the whole time frame, first they gave me a pink ID card and yellow house book and no KR.22 . This process took nearly a month. then when that was done they did the KR.22 a day after, which only took an hour or so but it was a huge amount of paper work.

Tip. Ask your local Amphur first what is required. If your partner lives in a close village with an Amphur office you need to apply there. Documents seem to be slightly different. Also ask and see an agent, they will show you what is needed. It would have been much cheaper if i had just paid the agent.

I'm glad this is all over now

I think the 'bonus' is that those with the "Under Consideration" stamp do not have to apply for another 60-day extension until 30 Nov, while those without might have to do so before 31 October.

It would seem from the presser that some fine details are still being worked out.

I think some people that paid will miss out on that extea 30days. Some offices just gave out 30 days and 60 days for non-o. Which are not under consideration stamps.
