  1. And get into debt.... Yingluk tried a similar plan that backfired for those who borrowed beyond their means.
  2. 3 trips to the nearest 7-11 and a weekend party it will be gone.
  3. Hand-outs do not help anyone, a livable wage is the only answer. But as Thailand wants to remain a sub-contract labour force for Asia and the west it will never rise above these issues.
  4. Something could be said for a docile population content to let it happen.
  5. And we have full trust in all these establishments
  6. On airplanes drinks are regulated by cabin staff.. There would be nothing to stop someone taking alcohol onto a train and consuming it to the point of being offensive
  7. If someone wants to consume a beverage with a meal within a dining carriage I have no objection. I do have an objection to sitting next to a pi$$-head in an open carriage
  8. Waste not want not isn't always the best way to go.
  9. You are correct, but marijuana is often the stepping stone to more potent drugs. Youngster try weed as they believe it's harmless, when it has little or no effect some will go to the next level. I understand cigarettes etc have the same outcome. Like alcohol, when beer/wine no longer serves the purpose some turn to spirits. I'm not for banning outright, but measures must be in place to stop the vulnerable from escalating into addiction to whatever substance. This is where Thailand is lacking regulation or adherence to laws.
  10. Woefully inadequate services for the mentally ill or drug users requiring help.
  11. If the train has a dining carriage then fine, allow alcohol to be served within the carriage under the supervision of serving staff.. But I'm in favour of the ban remaining within any other open carriage.
  12. Clean the place up so that it looks like Japan instead of an open sewer, have vendors greet you with a smile and sincerity coupled to good service. Have public transport that is fast, efficient and affordable? Ohhh and get rid of the Squat toilets for more modern convenience.
  13. The goalposts have moved... "eligible" has taken the spot of "over 16"
  14. The whole saga is getting rather boring, senseless polls, endless chat and no changes.
  15. Drop the price and the locals can afford one.
  16. You know the end is near when they start telling you what you spend your bribe money on
  17. Of course they did...
  18. Thailand and China have a very long entwined history... this is not surprising
