I have been here since 2008... I've done my visa renewal every year to stay here, and told them 66 times that I live in the same house. But still treated like a short stay tourist.

Nakhon Pathom to Hua Hin on the slow train was always a hit, 3 hour journey on the rambling line, windows open and ceiling fans just about hanging on, each station stop was greeted with the ladies getting on/off with the local delicacy... often very good. But now interspersed with the younger generation, with tacky fayre and wanting crazy prices.
