Well since you are not travelling onwards i guess the only scams you may be targeted for are money changers, fake visa offices and overpriced transport from Aran to the border.

Just use your loaf and dont change money on the street, either get an e visa or a $20 note for visa on arrival and dont go in any fake visa offices. Go straight to the border.

Not sure how you will avoid the overpriced tuk tuk ride but it should be only 80 Baht or so, good luck in the casino.

The one and only time i spent Songkran in Pattaya a police officer shot dead someone who soaked him, i believe he issued a warning first.

Unfortunately no, i done a quick search but drew a blank. It was a good 10 years ago i remember reading about it and possibly seeing it on the Pattaya Mail channel.

The police officer was just leaving his house i think, getting on his bike when someone soaked him, he proceeded to draw his gun and shoot the reveler.

Im not dreaming it im sure!

Just a word of advice, contact the hotel before you claim the promotion. I claimed a free night and the hotel said it was full at that time.

Great pics but i would like 100 Baht for everytime i had seen that Cortina.

For about 550 Baht i booked The Queens Garden Hotel close by the airport, there is a free shuttle and its only 5 mins away. Im going to be checking in for a few hours to get cleaned up before my onward travel in Thailand in a few weeks. Booked it with Agoda.

The price is for a night but im sure its the same if you just want a few hours rest and a shower or even a ST lol.

Yes you can catch the train to Aranyaprathet at the Lat Krabang station.

I made the trip with my family and it’s a wonderful experience. Yes, the carriages are old, actually the same as 25 years ago and the train is slow but you can enjoy beautiful landscape, chat with locals and enjoy a cold beer sold from vendors on the train.

Thank you, this is just the experience i am looking for. I know the bus is quicker and air conditioned etc but sipping a beer or two as we slowly amble throught the Thai countryside is a winner for me.

Is this kiosk like on the roadside right outside Tukcom? Easy to find etc. I like doner kebabs a lot, had good ones in both Bradford and Istanbul. There are many bad ones out there and i believe its these that give them the bad press but you know when you get a real good one.

BTW there is nothing like a big fat greasy doner kebab to soak up a belly full of beer, everything in moderation. I have had the chicken ones many times from the vedor carts etc dotted around Pattaya but the done compare to the lamb ones we get here in UK.

Neeroys curries are indeed not so good, their pie, mushy peas, mashed potatoes and gravy isn't half bad though and the view of the shenanigans over the road at Crazy Daves (if indeed it is still there, its been a while since i have been in town) is good fun.

Sorry i should have metioned that they all seem to live in the Soi Buakhao area.

I know a guy, infact i know a few but this one in particular has never left Thailand for at least 15 years.

Never got any money, always pleading poverty but seems to manage to drink plenty. I mean how does he manage without a passport, what would happen if became ill or arrested for something?

I know he has a Thai lady who must support him, how else would he manage to live? Sad existence maybe and certainly not for me but he seems happy enough.

Anyway RIP to the poor guy, things must be pretty bad to end it in this manner.

Unfortunately one of our sponsors offering cash Rewards has had to deal with a pathetic individual trying to claim more than one cash Reward by breeching FreePlayo's terms of service. This individual opened more than player account under assumed names and email addresses and was allegedly drunk when he turned up to claim two cash payments. He was also allegedly verbally abusive and threatened the sponsor when informed that he could only claim one cash Reward per the terms and conditions of the Reward!

We have assured the sponsor that they are within their rights to only honor one cash Reward per player per the terms and conditions of the Reward. Meanwhile, per FreePlayo's terms of service, we will suspend or cancel the account(s) of the allegedly abusive player.

It is sad that there are people out there who it seems will do their best to spoil a good thing for the bona fide majority. Either that or they are simply lost souls in search of some parental attention.

Any future cash Rewards will be subject to even tighter terms and conditions. And we will not tolerate abusive losers.

If you have claimed a cash Reward already it should be honoured if you are a real person who has followed the rules :-)

You should contact the sponsor before collecting the cash. In this case we suggest you contact the sponsor soonest in case you can't make it to their place of business for a few weeks. And unlike the idiot who spoiled it for everyone, it would be a good idea to be polite, appreciative, and to show at least some interest in the sponsor as a human being and as someone trying to make a living.

Let us know privately if there are any issues.

Well im certainly a real person, so is my wife who has been playing religiously (even more so than me) pretty much since the promotion began.

I have emailed the sponsor and they are expecting us in a few weeks, just didn't want to turn up and embarresed if the cash rewards had been withdrawn all together.

Out of the 30 odd times i have holidayed in Pattaya over the last 20 years or so i have only managed to catch Songkran once. Never again!

1) How long from claiming the reward do i have to actually use it?

2) Regarding the accomodation rewards, can you only stay for one night or 3 consecutive nights? Which is what i would be looking to do.

Hi Crudy,

Each reward has its own terms & conditions, so please read those before claiming. On the time between claiming and using a Reward, there is nothing specified in the T&C of most Rewards (there probably should be). Within a reasonable time (a few weeks) is the best answer here.

Thanks for tha answer albeit a bit vague, perhaps i should have explained my dilema a bit further, i shall.

I am coming to Pattaya in 6 weeks for a few days and would like to use the rewards then. I notice there are only a certain amount of rewards on stock and indeed some of them have all been claimed already.

After winning the top prize a few days ago i would like to spend my points now on accomodation for some of those few days and a couple of the food and drink options, also the 1500 Baht cash from Alan Bolton. If i claim them now before they are all gone, will they still be honoured in 6 weeks time?
