  1. What is the procedure of registering the death of a UK falang, married to a Thai and living in Pattaya?

The reason for me asking is that my Thai wife will qualify for a percentage of my UK company pension

after she supplies the necessary documented \ translated proof of my death and forwarding this to

my pension provider in the United Kingdom.

Any help afforded to me will be greatly appreciated regarding getting a death certificate  (& etc).

The translation part of any documents - (from Thai to English) - is easy ..... take everything down to

Soi Post Office to "KT International" – (a few meters up from Beach Road).

  2. "Residents at the Patcharin apartments on Soi Thai Thani 31 found the body after noticing their tap water started to smell bad. ... They were shocked when they opened one 2,000-litre water tank atop the four- storey apartment and found a black plastic bag with human organs sticking out. Police were called"

  3. Many, many thanks to one-and-all.

Sister-in-Law just ordered this for me.

I know of a 'bar fly' here in Pattaya (from Leeds) who suffered a really bad accident when he slipped on wet bathroom tiles.

I have also bought a pair of Crocs as extra insurance.

  4. Help needed, please —

Does anyone out there know where in Pattaya a person can purchase a "Grab Bar"?

This relates to a plastic covered/laminated bar that can be fixed to a tiled bathroom

wall with screws and rawl plugs – (to be used as a steadying aid when showering).

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Jack71 ... a worthy post that gets my sympathies ..... (been there\done that, matey)

But you do realise that sentiments like yours means that you leave yourself wide open to (some of) the 'sarky saddos' who come on here with their only agenda of posting a provocative sarcastic reply that adds nothing of any worth to a conversation.

We all know who you are - lolololol

  6. "actonion" you have my sincerest and profound sympathies.

In the past I have had friends with severe hearing problems.

One man (a work colleague) was totally deaf - but he had the talent of lip reading.

Another, a girlfriend, suffered an extreme form of Tinnitus.

It would drive her crazy at times, so much so that she gnawed off the top digit of

one of her fingers in an attempt to quell the agrivation of the continuous 'popping'

in her ears ... but my post was titled "Unnecessary Shouting"

    Good Luck and Stay Safe

  7. I am interested in other folks' views regarding the subject of Unnecessary Shouting.

By and large people do tend to respect each others personal space - however, as an example, you can be (say) sat in a bar enjoying a chilled beer when two people come into the bar and they sit down together (well within 'touching distance' of each other)

and shout into each others faces. It matters not that the subject matter of what they are shouting about to each other is (in your opinion) of a "confidential nature" and is of zero interest to you; you are nevertheless an unwilling captive audience and you are forced to listen to every detail about their hemorrhoids - (or whatever?) This isirrespective of the shouters' nationalities - "we" all of us seem to do it - (and Leo does

seem to increase the shouters volume).

Yes, yes, yes, I know - "pay up and move to another bar" or "buy ear plugs" & etc - - -but I am not asking for an answer to this Pattaya shouting phenomena only opinions.

    There is no answer .....

  8. THAT  will be a good tale for them to tell their grand kids years from now when they are

reminiscing about the "Olde Thailand" and the way that things used to be. There is a lot of

"cop bashing" around the world (with plenty of it being justified) ..... but this is a display of

the 'human' side of policing – (and it raised a smile).

Who can remember a video of the inside of a Thai cop shop of a deranged Thai man that was

brandishing a knife in a threatening manner and a uniformed Thai police man talking the man

    into surrendering his weapon?

What happened at the conclusion of this potentially very dangerous incident was for the Thai

man to break down sobbing and the Thai cop giving the man a reassuring cuddle.

Not all cops are the same, are they? Some can be heroes, too.

  9. I can recall viewing video footage (some years ago) on the Internet of a woman that was pushing

a pram (baby stroller) during a super heavy downpour in Barcelona. The water pressure blew the cast iron manhole cover into the air and the unfortunate woman was sucked into vortex that was

created and into the drain. Just goes to show ... we are all Lottery Tickets – (imo). ????

  10. Yes, Jingthing ,,,,, There are many "litmus tests" that can be applied to what you posted.

    * Baht Busses on soi Buakhao ... hardly any passengers — or even empty

Gone are the days when passengers were hanging off the back

(Posted on ThaiVisa earlier that fifty were 'parked up' — 'off road')
