Good if you are happy here and I am happy for you .

not sure were your country's is but I find thailand now  expensive the only think. I find a lot cheaper here in thailand is going out to eat in restaurants.

but you have to  way up the life  style  between your own country and thailand.

Yeah, sure. You are right. It´s a lot more expensive than it was for many years ago. It´s not just for the cheap or expensive reason I live in Thailand.
Let´s say that I might be full up of all the unnecessary things we think we need around us in out home countries. Here you can live more easy, and
just concentrate of having a rich life instead of a lot of things.

Don´t get me wrong. Off course I have a TV and many other things around me, but there is still much that is missing from the so called great lifestyle
that you mention. Some people like it one way or another. I just realized that I can live happy without much of this, and so does my wife here seem to think too.

Maybe I am just a lucky guy. Time will tell.

I think you hit the nail on the head again. ouch!

Just don´t know when to quit. The more you say the bigger fool you make out of yourself. Have a nice time with it.
I will go back to my happy life, with the small knowledge you might think that I have. Don´t know how long time of experience you have living in Thailand,
but if it´s over 16 years then I really bow my head for you.

You just a bigger bank account to blow on the misses likely will last longer than most ten years instead of two. When it does run dry after she takes you to the cleaners you will have one of two options. End up on the streets begging or becoming the latest member of the (PFC) Pattaya Flying Club.

Geee! You are funny! Living in Thailand since 16 years back. Have a family and a daugther 4 years old. Not buying more than we need.
I choosed that life because I rather live here than in my home country. Nicer weather, more things I like, and also because it´s actually more cheap to live here.

So the PFC is just out of the question, dude!

Read what this thread is about.

so you have a full bank Account do you will good for you .

I HAVE A VERY ,VERY BIG BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE I Don't DO ALL OF WHAT HE WAS TAKING ABOUT.

I you read what you comment on so was that one of the things in the big text from Mitkof Island, about that the bank account would be empty.
You said that I do all thoose things in your comment. It´s not empty, so that just means that you were wrong, or how can you try to explain it another way.
Suprise me! Find a way out of the peculiar place you put yourself in now.

What issues? Because i don,t think highly of dumb foreigners, criminal foreigners, drunk foreigners, obnoxious foreigners, pedophiles, foreigners unwilling to adapt, foreigners that live in a foreign country and can,t speak a single word of their language, foreigners that marry hookers, foreigners that live in a bubble,  and foreigners that use a name Get Real . GET REAL ! Reality sucks does,nt it ?

Yeah the reality in your little bubble must suck big time. How can one person have so much to complain about. Your life must be miserable. Feel actually a little bit sorry for you.

Very , very true the best   Thread I have had i read on here in years.

you don't have problems at all like one member said about you , he is the one who has the problems because he is the one who dose all the things in your reply .

How did know know that? Must be very smart! Just realize if I did all the thing in that post, and you were right. One of the things would be that my bank account would be empty. After 16 year it´s still very healty.

Just saying. Your wrong! Big time!

Things I Don,t Understand: (1) Foreigners that move here and do little or no research . (2) Foreigners that date and marry Thai hookers. (3) Foreigners that move to Thailand and complain non- stop because it's not like home. (4) Foreigners that move here and never learn to speak a word of Thai, walk around in a bubble totally lost, disoriented , and angry. (5) Foreigners that move half away around the world and spend their entire time hanging with other often very questionable foreigners you would not touch with a ten foot pole back home. (6) Foreigners that spend the majority of their days drunk and out of it causing themselves and the locals constant problems. (7) Foreigners that move to a foreign country and make zero effort to understand and learn the local culture and customs. (8) Foreigners that can only eat the very food they left behind and make zero effort to eat ANY Thai food. (9) Foreigners that believe they are superior to the Thais and therefore should be allowed to treat the locals like crap. (10) Foreigners that dress like total slobs. if you dress like that at home you would be laughed at and likely told you are not allowed to enter any public places. (11) Foreigners that believe that they should be able to grab at any Thai woman because they believe ALL Thai women are hookers. (12) Foreigners dumb enough to buy their Thai hooker a new motorbike, home, gold etc, etc, etc,  and until their bank accounts run dry on the average of about two years. (13) Foreigners that live in a walled off fortress like in Ban Huay Yang  afraid the locals might attack at night and perhaps eat their dogs afterwards. Has to be one of the creepiest places i have ever been to in Southeast Asia.  (14) Foreigners that travel and move here with zero common sense and as dumb as a rock. Below Typical foreigner in Thailand- Typical walled off fortress Ban Huay Yang.

I can't understand the guys that buy a car (or just a motorbike) and not a truck then need their shocks fixed every six months or constantly want to use my truck to move their crap.

I can't understand guys who say they are 'living the dream" of their FB page but constantly fly back to their home country to stay months at a time and complain about being bored when they are here.

I can't understand why eating spicy food is the criteria for being accepted as a foreigner.  Literally had a cop switch to my side after he confirmed I could eat spicy food without burning my ass.

As far as the "up to you", I was riding my mc near the beach a few weeks ago and a girl jumped on the back.  I said "where are we going" she said "up to you".  I drove to a secluded beach and was properly polished.  So I can't really complain about that one.

Dude! You sway the police by making them understand you can eat pepper without problems with your ass! Was it a case regarding someone that didn´t put pepper in your food as you are a farang, and you wanted to sue them for it?

And the "up to you" thing. You are really living the dream! I wonder though. How desperate and starving one must be for accepting a girl just jumping up on a motorbike while riding it.

All other things except that you have to eat spice food to be accepted I can understand. I have made my wife´s father eat mashed potato and fried fish, and even pickled herring, ham and other things for christmas.

I'm pretty certain I'm not black listed and don't know why I ever would be. But this post is of interest to me just because the black listing seems to be something you can never be sure about unless you get turned away on entry. I remember a story earlier this year about a British guy with dual citizenship. He generally used his Thai passport and had no problem. Then one trip he used his British passport and was detained by immigration in the immigration jail. It turned out that someone he had accused of plagiarism ( and the person was even convicted of it) apparently got him black listed. Don't know how it all turned out. But it sounds like if you had a problem with the wrong person, you could be black listed and not even know it.

Hard to say, but I think there is an answer to why hw was arrested. According to the laws in Thailand they do not approve of double citizenship.
The law is hardly never used, but he could happen to meet a person that went by the book, so to say.

  11. Not to make myself unpopular again as I have managed to do so many time before, but there is a reason for the questions. A tourist visa is like the name says. You are here for a certain time and then you probably go back to your home country and work for a while, or do something elese.

Trying to use a tourist visa for a very long or permanent stay in Thailand is no more accepted in the long run. Like said before because the namne say tourist visa.

For everyone that want´s to stay longer there is business visa, non immigrant O visa and other visas for study or learning the language. Just saying that there are many ways of staying in Thailand with no problem, if you are a person that qualifies for it. According to the thai rules not everybody qualifies for a visa that let´s you stay long time with no questions. Unfortunately that´s the rules and regulations her at the moment.

With that said it is never impossible to stay here on a tourist visa, and you can surely make a lot of expemt entries, but sooner or later it will catch up and be a problem.
    That´s just the fact.

Personally I think a challenger or two to Ubonjoe in terms of provision of relevant and timely information free from error makes for a healthy competitive environment that benefits the users of this information. That's us!

Look what happened to Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali in the end. Nobody is infallible nor immortal.

Yes, you are right! The more cooks the better soup. Just joking!

How ever I just believe that you always quick and clear get the facts right. Of course everyone can be wrong, but there is always a minimal chance of that regarding to other comments here.
That´s just why I made that rekommendation.

The comment was actually, even if not told in the text, pointed at the OP. Really not a comment for open and off topic discussion.

is there anyway to know where an email comes from if it goes through Gmail, yahoo, HotMail etc to get to you ?

I can see that everybody gives you a bit of different information. The thing that is right in all information is that you find the information about that in the e-mails header.
The ways of finding that information is different regarding what e-mial out of the once you namne that you want to check.
The thing with the header though, is when you get the information up it´s sometimes hard to understand what to look for.
For that you will have to search google for learning to understand and translate the header way of describing things.
There is a lot of information about it on Internet, but it´s actually hard to get down to who sent the e-mail. Mostly you will get to a point where you will know the country or city it came from.

  14. Probably this is only an issue for all that live here on retirement visa. Everybody else have to leave the country every 90 days for 48 hours,
and then return again. My understanding is that the reporting is done automatically, when you fill in you arrival/departure card and get your
    stamp in the passport.

Please tell me if I am wrong, because then I will have to start reporting

  15. What is not available information in your question is how long time your sister been in Thailand, and how long time she have in overstay.

The fine she got is the maximun fine for overstaying in Thailand. That basically means that she have a minumum amount of overstaying days of 40 days,
but it does not say how much more it is. Below you can se the rules regarding overstay in Thailand:

    Alien Surrendered to Authorities:

    1. An alien who overstays more than 90 days beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 1 year, starting from the departure date.
    2. An alien who overstays more than 1 year beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 3 years, starting from the departure date.
    3. An alien who overstays more than 3 years beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 5 years, starting from the departure date.
    4. An alien who overstays more than 5 years beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 10 years, starting from the departure date.

    Alien Being Arrested and Prosecuted:

      1. An alien who is caught overstaying less than or exactly 1 year beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 5 years, starting from the departure date.
      2. An alien who is caught overstaying more than 1 year beyond his/her permitted date will be banned from re-entering the country for 10 years, starting from the departure date.

The only thing that is not certain is that you have to pay the fine. In that casr it is exactly like other people already answered, that your sister will be placed in IDC
until you, someone else or her embassy will help her home with a ticket.

Regarding if you tell the authorities that you have no money and not can pay the fine, they will usually take you to the court next day, and the judge will rule out the fine
before you are transferred to the IDC.

I hope that was clear enough.

    1. . You must pay a fine of 500/day, but not exceeding 20,000 baht before you are allowed to leave the Kingdom of Thailand.

They did not give me my passport back i was to be send to IDC BKK from there to my home country not knowing that i was blacklisted, The Thai embassy in Switzerland granted me the usual retirement visa. I understood the all thing when i was not allowed to board the thai airways fly. Again the Swiss attendant just knew that i was not allowed to check in the rest was tolled to my over the phone by the immigration In BKK.

That would mean that you were held in detention, which mean that they do not have to inform you about anything. the only thing on the agenda is to send you home. After that it´s actually your responsibility to check up what has happened to your situation. You are the one that need to help yourself.
