What if it was lost/stolen the old passport so only has the new?
Do your friend really feel the need to lie after breaking the law such a long time. What if????

Why?
Quite easy. A family will normally need more money to live, than a single person on retirement.

Me and her mum have never been married, and I have a court order that gives me the sole custody. Will this court order be enough to present ourselves and apply for the Thai passport here in BKK
Yes. If you have registered yourself and your daugther in BKK, otherwise it´s recommended and often required to apply for passport at the closest office for that in your registered area.

It depends on how long time you want to gamble.

Yep, you can leave it blank.

I completely understand your insecurity when you are not able to do anything by yourself if something happens. I am sincerely sad for your situation, and hope there was something that could be done. However, of course you should always take a threat seriously, but most of the people, even the ones climbing over fences, do hesitate when it comes to injuring or killing another human beeing. Yeah, how silly it might sound when reading the news, that is actually a fact even in Thailand.

Which one? I have had three. I still curse the day I met the first two.
I think both must have been on their way home from a witches coven.
Yep, or maybe you just made the wrong choices!

As I have become hooked on the Elle & Vire French unsalted butter and can't wean myself off it!!!
That´s a good one. I use that too. For all that just wants a regular and ordinary butter, Emborg in Makro is also perfectly ok.
As for what the OP is going on about, that´s like far too complicated to even begin sorting out.- 1

That's all well and good in the short term. But 4 years ago, the same could be said about living on monthly visa runs to the border, and clearing extended overstays and being back in Thailand in time for lunch tomorrow.
Then, the rules (or more accurately, the enforcement) changed and hundreds, perhaps thousands of lives were disrupted and families were torn apart as those living within similar loopholes found the noose tightening on them. I'd rather not build a precarious life in a country and constantly worry when my clever scheme is going to collapse on me.
I talked to so many guys on their way out of the country, many with tales of woe as their decades long Thailand adventure came to a screeching halt. Had they foreseen the changes, many of them would have prioritized getting fully legal instead of buying the car, the scooters, the toys and the condo they could no longer afford to visit.
I'm not forecasting anything. Just suggesting that living (and working) under the radar isn't viable in the long term. It may last forever. Or it may evaporate after the next regime change, or the next promotion within any number of gov't agencies.
Ok, even if what you wrote is a good story and very informative, it has absolutely nothing to do with the news I quoted. Here it was about having an insurance for helth, accident and illnes. That is something that the people rushing of to work in a foreign country should have, as well as the visa runners also have been needing to have for beeing able to take care of themselfs if something would happen.
This has nothing to do with any changes about visas. It has to do with having the possibility to take care of yourself if something happens in a foreign country. -

Looking at their website they only offer English classes . https://www.auathailand.org/?lang=en
Ok, like I wrote. Just going after the information I´ve got a few years back.

AUA Language Center in Udon Thani would be one place to contact. I know they had students on ED-visa before.
You will also have Udon Thani University that offers a Diploma course in Thai over 1 year. Attend school 3 hours every day between monday-friday. Pretty sure they will be approved to give an ED-visa for their courses. This info is not from this year, but has been offered before. You will have to check that up by yourself. Good Luck!

It seems that those would fall under the category of "Sourcing goods and services in Thailand". Services are sourced in Thailand, but for the head office, which is the one earning the income.
It is my understanding that one could also hire Thai people or companies to help with those services for the head office, but this is not necessary.
By your initial post opening this thread and the one I quote above, it seems like you are making a big fuzz about working as a freelancer online in Thailand. If that is the deal with you, then you do not need to make things so complicated.
At present time the authorities in Thailand seems to accept people staying in Thailand and working with a customer base in their own country. The only thing you will need to prepare for all unforseen consequences would be a TIN so that you forefill your duty to pay tax on the money you transfer to Thailand or other companies pay you to your Thai bank account.
If some things regarding this would change, it will likely be to the better. That would then be that Thailand would start to offer a special visa and WP for people living in the country and working remotely to their home country. Until then, just relax and do your thing, pay your taxes and most likely all will work just fine.- 1

A random example from a Chines online shop with "free" shipping.
They offer an Arduino Nano compatible
1: 4.64USD
3: 12.63USD
5: 20.61USD
I let you work out the math and the cost for the shipping.
And what are you trying to prove with that? That the price per piece goes down if you buy 3 or 5 instead of only 1? You do know that it´s usually cheaper per ml to buy a big bottle of schampoo than a small one, right? What you just stated has nothing to do with cost of shipping. There is something that is called free shipping and that is something that the companies today use as a weapon to compete for the customers.

Take a step back, dude! Relax! This is a well known written rule that existed in many years. Lately the have choosed to enforce it, and that is about 1-2 years ago now. As a person staying in Thailand, it is you that has to keep yourself updated with the changes in the specific area you are staying and have contact with Immigration in.
Immigration has done nothing wrong, and just been following the rules that exists and applied them upon you as they should.- 2

To OP: Regarding the day you can go home is not sure until the courts ruling has been made. Best advice is to have your family ready to help you when you know the result. I also hope that you learned the hard way, and never ever come to Thailand or any other country and engage in criminal activities.- 2

Of course you can never be sure, but my be would be to believe Immigration due to that they collect the fine.
On the other hand, everything here is up to the discretion of the officer at hand. If another one is deciding when you get your passport back, then you might be fined.

No one is suggesting anyone overstays. The discussion is around the options available to someone who had already overstayed.
Really? I guess you have to go back and read the post a little bit better.
Even if the discussion is about "options" like you choose to put it. To me there is not an option to break or continue brealing the law. Dicussions about an option that includes breaking the law or continue to break the law even more, simply soes not comply with or belong in this forum.- 1

Why does it have to be a taboo? While not a wise option, It is a fact that many people will actually consider this, calculate their risks, pro and con, make assumptions, and decide. This is a reality. It is what gets the overstayers to be in this situation in the first place. So I think we should not ridicule people who voice this kind of suggestion, but rather debate with them.
Because it´s an illegal way of staying in the country. Suggesting that kind of activity is also against the forum rules. That just because it can´t just be considered an illegal activity. It is an illegal activity. Period!
Because it´s an illegal activity it can not be discussed or adviced about here.- 1

As you have noted, he is already breaking the law
Wouldnt it be sensible to overstay to 364 days taking account of the guys mental state ?
His punishment is going to be the same if he hands himself in today or on his penultimate day, so why not ?
I guess the debate here is that sticklers for the 'rule book' will want this guy hanged where as the non-conformists will argue he might as well see out his overstay he is now engaged in
I always find it amusing when I see members on any forum with a name that is also advice, when its obvious they dont seem to heed that advice themselves ?
I suppose you just think you got a point anywhere. The reality is that you don´t.
If he by a ticket now, he can take himself to airport, pay the fine, get out and have one year ban. That´s quite good if he want to come back to Thailand in a reasonable time.
If he take the advice, he will take a risk for a full 250 days more to be caught, and in that case get a five year ban.
On top of this, you also have the natural thing by following the laws in the country you reside in. Maybe something alien to you, but most people live by that.
Feeling your misarable failure yet? If not, please comment again and I will do my best to help you.- 1
