As to why does he deserve his money, football (soccer) stars still earn less on average than America baseball and American Football stars. While I have never been a Spice Girl groupie, they are no different than many boy and girl bands - all image and little talent. The only reason she still has the money is because she was wise enough to make sound investments and get good management, whereas most such 'musicians' usually blow it all believing it forever. They do do stuff for charity, but why should they give all their money away. Think of the massive payouts some Hollywood stars get - tens of millions for a single film sometimes - they raise money sure, but they don't give it all away either. Why should they? Have you?

Good points. Can't really see why people love to hate the Beckhams - but it is the fashionable thing to do it seems. What's their crime? Too rich and successful? I know some don't like the way they aggressively market themselves, but who really cares - up to them i say. Stop with your jealousy people!

It reminds me of that photo in the U.S of the front of a fitness centre with an escalator and steps up to the front door and everyone is using the escalator.

OP. I believe I suggested this to someone else on this forum before, but you should buy a book called Private Dancer written by Stephen Leather. Read that and everything will fall into place. I am not saying that your situation is the same, but you may find some similarities. Besides, it's a good read.

I'd start by popping in Coyotes and have a chat with the Mexican manager Miguel. If memory serves me right, they may even sell sauces themselves.

Well I had a very nice Xmas, all you can eat buffet dinner for 299 baht. It was very nice except the sprouts were chewy. He explained that he ran out of time and gave them to the Thai staff to cook. Say no more. Apart from the sprouts it was a feast. I did notice some bars were charging from 850 -1000 baht just for a dinner. Thats around the 17 -20 pounds a hit. JEEZ you can get a cheaper dinner back home in the UK for that. And when things are quiet you would think bar owners would reduce prices to get people in. Maybe they are using the Thai logic when things go quiet. no doubt the same bar owners will be crying about no customers etc in the new year and I don't see there being a high season this winter. My advice is reduce your prices rather than charge stupid prices, but then I don't own a bar so what do I know ?

Maybe the tourism board should play on the fact that the island is quiet to appeal to it's elder clientele. Weather permitting of course, I would much rather go on holiday in a quiet season.

If I personally had a beer bar, I would increase the price of beer by 10% and hence avoid the thrifty customers like yourself. Does your same logic and arithmatic apply when it comes to giving a tip?

I am interested to know what the main reason is that expats on the island don't wear a crash helmet whilst riding a bike on Samui. Is it vanity, laziness, gets too hot, or whatever, I personally have no idea! I would imagine probably 90 per cent of regular contributors to this particular forum would know someone that has lost some one they know in a road related accident.
