with many getting hit with 1,000-baht fines for ignoring signs prohibiting motorbikes and other small vehicles
Not everyone ! They let the hiso's on the big bikes through without a fine did they!

There is going to be even less kids now telling their parents they have been beaten because they know nothing will be done. So now the little uns are in an even worse position than they were before.

Its a terrible loss of life, but laws can not be broken just because someone is poor.

Drivers cant grasp the concept of a box junction, so I have little hope for a four way junction.

Why is there so many unknown ?

Failing someone at the driving test centre would be a start. Rather than giving them another go at passing the brake test (after hypothetically hitting the car in front) send them away and re apply a month or so later.

Could be worse, oh hang on it will be soon. With the arrival of all those new police guns you would imagine that the old ones will soon be on the streets. A road ragers weapon of choice will up grade from a sword to a firearm.

In my old age my memory has got a little fuzzy, but I can certainly remember a railway track at the bottom of our garden behind a rather large fence when I was growing up. Now I'm not sure whether my parents repeatedly said "go and play on the railway tracks" or "don't go near the railway tracks". I'm assuming because I'm still here today it was the latter. If hes encouraging kids to do his juvenile antics (at his age he should know better) like that, get him out.

Thats your run of the mill tarnishing. The copper in full uniform taking a photo up a young university students skirt in 7-11, thats proper tarnishing.

It does kind of contradict the other thread where a guy is in a detention cell with onward flight tickets and a hotel booked, just not 20,000 cash on him !

It is however good news for pick pockets.

Are they going to sue the British press too ?

The Koh Tao/Surat Thani police have proved on multiple occasions that are they are not qualified to police and protect the island, as it keeps happening, and secondly not capable of finding the murderer. The fact that its them that have reopened the case will not alter anything.

You cant make this stuff up, or you can but its normally found in the letters page in Viz !

We get the message about using the rank, with the 50 baht surplus charge, he mentioned it enough. So does that mean its just unfortunate if you hail a taxi driven by a rapist from the street!

He's usually on his way home from a 12 hour shift and looking for a quick fare. If it's in the opposite direction he doesn't want it. Chris, it ain't rocket science. Quite right PM.
I personally would stand on the side of the road in which the cab was heading, but that doesn't work either. If that's the ruling they cant really moan about Uber.

It does seem very odd to me that the buddy hasn't contacted the police or the mother or cut short his holiday in the Philippines. Even if he doesnt know the mother or have any information that can help, a call to let her know that would be nice rather than her pinning some sort of hope on the mystery being resolved upon his arrival !

I think the most ignorant people are the motorcyclists that ride a bike with a helmet on, but dont do it up. Yeah great, you wont get stopped by the police but its not really going to be able to do its job when your head is banging off the road and your helmets bounced off into the lake.

Actually the true lesson is never lend money to anyone. That is what the banks are for.
You can lose friends and money too easily.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be,
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.William Shakespeare

Never lend people money, it gives them amnesia.

Sounds good but where is it?
Hopefully these places have multiple TVs as just notice England v SA is on at the same time as Scotland v Aus.
Its on Sukhumvit 23 somo. About 150 metres down from Cowboy on the same side. Two floors, 2 big screens and multiple TVs. Facebook page indicates they are showing both games. (One on each big screen I would imagine with some of the TVs showing the other game).

Without doubt The Clubhouse. They sponsor The Southerners rugby teams who regularly go there to watch the games.

Shouldn't he be fined for using his phone too !
Motorcyclists fined 1,000 baht for using tunnel

It would only work if you had a size limit on the engine, around 600cc perhaps. This is not to say that small bikes cant go as fast, I'm suggesting that in general, serious motorcyclists are better equipped mentally and have better understanding of the traffic laws. I fully understand the tunnels should not allow people who may consider riding 6 up on a bike, just to get from A to B a normal thing to do..
