  1. Hello all,

I used to live in Thailand with a non o visa / married to a thai.

Corona and a medical problem changed that.

I want to visit Thailand again, as a short term tourist.

Do I correctly understand that as a Belgian citizen I can get a "visa exemption" for 45 days?

How much does this cost, and in which currency can I pay at immigration? Is Euro OK or do I need to bring Thai Baht?

    Many thanks for information.

I'm sure we all believe you.

The only porn movie I ever saw was Deap Throat.

It was funny, I still watch it sometimes.

All following porn movies were boring or imitations, never could bring myself to watch more then a few minutes.

How did we end up talking about porn? Oh yes, because porn is not PC or woke, so it must be a good thing.

British humour, when it was funny, was very NOT PC. Along with everything fun it's been banned by the woke establishment.

People IMO don't laugh anymore, at least not like we used to, when my sides actually hurt from laughing.

To understand the extremes of the "woke establishment" or PC behaviour, you only need to look  back at the extremes of the pre-woke establishment, or, more simply, talk with a muslim.

The extremes of the "woke establishment" and PC rules are ridiculous, but surely you have heard of the universal law of Action and Reaction.

Personally I feel like I am caught between a rock and a hard place.

I was just chatting on my ham radio to a guy who lives in Penrhyn Atoll, north Cook Islands.  Looks a nice sort of place ????

That could have been me..... but I got kicked out of Rarotonga for managing a small hotel without work permit.

Aitutaki looks a little bit like Penrhyn, but with regular flight connections, and some modern conveniences.

Exactly right, outsource it and then there are no overheads when you’re not flying. This is airline operations science, not rocket science.

Of couse, that is what they plan to do!

Or does anyone expect them to set up a supply chain from their kitchen in BKK?

    It is just a scam.

They will sell the right to use their name - just like all other franchising businesses do, but without strict quality controls.

Not that there would be much quality to be controlled.

I think part of the original question was.

What happens if you are physically unable to do your yearly retirement extension?

Yes, and my additional question was: will we have the right to say "enough is enough"?

Obviously not in this part of the world, it is not even allowed by forum rules to discus it, as I found out.

For me that is a reason to prefer dying in a civilised part of Farangland.

Philippines and Cambodia are far easier.

Cambodia $300/year VISA purchased from a local agent, no need to ever see Immigration.

Philippines free 1 year VISA if you marry a local girl (which you stated you intended to do in a sinsot thread).

I've never felt the Thai food is any better than that available in Cambodia or Philippines.

Cambodia I usually eat Indian, Philippines I usually eat Mexican.

I generally avoid local food in all the countries in which I've lived.

Yes, must have started early: I believe you spent your childhood in the UK?
