now with the street food crackdown , will they have areas set aside to park a food cart / food truck etc
there are 1000s of ideas on Google etc , its just figuring out what you want to sell , and then water , power, propane and keeping it clean.......
until they change the rules again !

How good is the tracking ?
We sent a package SAL registered mail from BKK to the USA
the tracking shows the day / time it was accepted
and one more that it was sorted at Thai Post
Thats all for the last 10 days ,
its hard to have confidence with so little info , is EMS better ?
-
Look at Google Images for Japanese food trucks , lots of ideas there , plus closer to the size you could use in BKK
Is this going to be an everyday thing or just weekends and special events ?
are you going to need electric power and if so how do you plan on getting it ?
If I was going to do something like this I would make my "store" so I can change what I am selling and try new things out ,
Change the signs and sell Bratwurst one week and Tacos the next week etc
But you would need a younger crowd that would try new foods....

There are a bunch of shops near National Stadium BKK
Go past MBK , past National Stadium , and the next corner there is a Lotus Tesco , Turn right on that street
in the first or 2nd block are a lot of screen printers and some have print on shirt machines ,
That area had many sports shops , trophies , and screen prointers ,
many are gone as they tore down the shops to put a Condo on that corner across from Tesco ,
but there are still many in that area on side streets.......

If you select international I'm pretty sure you can get views from those countries.
Ohhh I have sold things to the UK and Germany from the regular ebay.com site
But it would be better if they were also listed on the local ebay
and I could do the Germany listing in German , etc
-
can you include shipping in the price ?
Thats what we do , it is a Thai based account , items are in BKK and on Ebay, com
Problem is long shipping time , poor tracking and and then stuck in US customs which can take an extra week ....
I would love to sell on Ebay UK or Ebay Germany but I am not sure that is possible with a Thai based account

most small businesses have the problem of "eating the profits" , giving credit to people who will never pay them back , family comes and "shops" for free , and at the end of the month they have no money to restock and pay the bills ,
I am sure most never understood sales vs profit , and think if they sold 1000 baht that day it was profit they could spend ,
They need to print a simple book on finance , and how to keep your $$$$ to restock and stay in business.
And its not much better with many people in the west.....

How hard is it for a Thai to get a Visa for Holland if they do not have a Dutch sponsor ?
Just to go on vacation a couple of weeks .Is there another country that is easier to get a Schengen visa ?
and then can they fly from the arrival country to another EU country with the first visa ?thanks

I have always thought that there were a few levels of quality on things coming out of China ,
many things that are $50 in the west would never sell if priced the same in 3rd world countries,
but there is a demand for the item at $30 , so corners need to be cut !
There was a show on NHK Japanese TV about Super Copies from China where even the original company had a hard time picking their own product.......
My Dutch friend only buys power tools from Europe as even Bosch etc make a cheaper style to sell in Thailand etc.....

I wore shorts for years and gave up for a couple reasons ,
Mosquitoes love me , and they stay close to the ground , I was getting eaten up,
I have "white boy" legs which if out in the sun to long get sunburn which is no fun ,
I was also scrapping my legs on things and was worried about get the cut infected ,
So I started wearing long pants , not Levis or Jeans but lightweight cotton , and so far it has worked out ,
Plus you do not look out of place to the Thais ,
I also wear cotton button down shirts because they breath a lot better than T shirts , and I have never worn a armless "wifebeater" T shirt as its not a normal thing with my crowd back home ,
And if you ask does it help with the locals, I really do not know , I am still going to be an outsider , but wearing normal working clothes and not "beach" clothes cannot hurt.
If someone wore "beach clothes" walking down the street in Chicago , London or Frankfurt would they get stared at ? I think so.....

I also go thru LAX , if they inspect you , well you are screwed !
there is no way they are going to believe they are for personal use or gifts when you have 100 of one item !
The chances of them putting you thru secondary inspection is low , but it has happened to me a few times,
ohh and weigh your empty suitcases , you will be amazed how heavy they are empty !
Good luck

I have to agree with most of the above that its a "nigerian" scam......
but I have also seen old European guys send loads of money to ladies they have only talked to on the internet....
BUT to me the trigger is 10 MILLION baht , if it was 2000 euros or something maybe believable , but 10 million just grabs the real greedy ones , who will send this guy money for " paperwork etc "
-
I will throw this out there ,
if you gave 10 educated but poor Thais 50,000 - 100,000 baht each to invest in a business , how many would be able to make a go at it and still be in business in 6 months ?
And I guess the same question with maybe more money , if you did it in your home country ?
Most people do not know how to run a business , end up "eating" the profits and are out of business ( or close to it) in 6 months.
Its not easy it is a lot of work and long hours , and most poor people do not have any successful people around them to ask basic business questions ,
If it was so easy everyone would be rich

We are described as champions, winners, cool, awesome, pioneers, entrepreneurs, valued, respected, leaders, magnificent, heroes, great, bodacious, and innovative. The lifestyle you reference attracts adjectives such as; loser, failure, drips, creepy, pathetic, trash, waste of space, and useless
I am a dreamer....please tell me if I should hold my head up high like your first group ,
or learn to look down and watch my feet all day !

one of the sneaky ways is they put the Thai price in Thai script numbers , of course we have no idea since we cannot read those numbers !
Not much you can do about it , even if you do know the scam !
OHHH and never take a taxi sitting in front of your Hotel , stop a moving Taxi with its light on.....
if they ask you "how much you pay ? " tell them METER..........and wait for the next one.......

and when you miss with the sling shot , where is it going to land ?
I think an RF signal would work a lot better , I am sure there is something on google telling you what frequencies they use, 2.4 ghz or 5.8 ghz
from jammer-store.com
-
why do they sell them Wet ?
seems like more of a hassle shipping etc
-
I have no idea , but I would only bring a new sealed package and maybe a printout of where you bought it ......
that is for anything they might have questions about , make it easy for them if they have questions
-
I asked an older Thai I know , and he said "University have ! '
and of course he would never go there anyway.....

Ok,,,,,,,,,if you were going to teach English and not do "rote" memory learning ,
What would you do ?
And since phonics is not taught , how do they learn words that the teacher cannot pronounce ?
I am sure this is not just a Thai thing , but anyone learning English worldwide ,

But it only needs to last for (less than) one year.
it really matters when you wash it with other items that are not black.......
if it is not colorfast the other stuff could turn grey....
I know when we were kids and you put something red in with your underwear you ended up with Pink underwear ......and laughed out of gym class :)

I see on TV that they are setting up places to dye your old clothes black
I am just wondering how good this will work , will the black dye "stick" to the fabric or will it wash out the first time ?
will it bleed thru if you sweat ?
I just do not understand how one dye can do cotton, cotton/poly mix , polyester , silk , nylon etc
Or was this another "quick fix" that was not thought thru before doing it ?

My thai friends say realistically there will be a month of mourning. But as a foreigner wear what colour you want, nobody cares unless it is really out there (haiwaain)
All my "normal" shirts are "flowery "Aloha" shirts ,
I will have to dig around and find some black shirts without advertising logos on them
-
How long will people be wearing the black or white shirts ?
I know everything is in flux now but any educated guesses ?
How much do you pay avocados in Thailand ? why so expensive ?

Avocados in California are cheap if you get the not as pretty ones !
so if they have dents , dark spots , not the right shape , then they are not going to get exported or sold at the better grocery stores.
My tree is over 50 years old and grows ugly fruit that tastes great ,
The worst ones I ever had were in Hawaii , big but no taste
