Most tourists dont need a long term visa. That is only a small part of the tourists.
Rubbish! Many of my friends would go to Samui/Phuket outside of their working season.
Some work hard for six months of the year and then are free to spend the proceeds relaxing somewhere warm, when it is cold in their country.
They are free to holiday up to six months per annum and clearly there is no issue with them staying up to 180 days per annum, according to Immigration.
But, their e-Visa for Tourists is a sham and who knows how they will behave when you come and go?
So don't presume to try to tell how it is for tourists when you have no idea. I am a tourist and you are not.

An almost disproportionate amount of overnight visitors come from mainland China. Being so dependent on a particular market brings it's own set of issues.

Thanks for the help lol. I did ask nicely. Will stick with what I've got
As I stated, the best deals are with new SIM. Currently unlimited 10 Mbps for 200 baht per month.
No older SIM deal can compete.

Outside every AIS shop, one in every Tesco, BigC, and shopping Mall.
Yes, but how many AIS shops are there in comparison to Boontherm machines outside 7-11/Family Mart?
Plus it is cheaper to use the Boontherm machine.
So if there an AIS machine is close proximity, great. But cheaper and easier to find and use a Boontherm;

Every 20bht top-up in the machines buys you 1 month extra validity.
I just put 20bht notes 1 transaction at a time in the machine outside the AIS shop.
Takes a bit of time for 12 separate top-ups, but it's the cheapest way.
OP, get your kids to do it for you.
Will be 20 baht + 2 baht in the Boontherm type of machine. In that case it is better to use 10 coins, instead of 20 baht notes. Especially if he doesn't intend to use the credit.
AIS machines won't be easily found. Boontherm are everywhere.
-
I think that you may also be able to add credit to your AIS account via your KTB application.
i'm sure there are varied ways to do so. But there might be a minimum top up amount. Perhaps 50 baht. so you spend up to 600 baht for a year of validity. Though of course the 600 baht will remain as credit.
-
He can simply collect 10 + 2 baht coins and then pop them in one of the Boontherm machines outside 7-11/Family Mart.
Each 12 baht combo will add 30 days validity. He should be able to extend it up to a year that way and continue to do so indefinitely.

Wrong. The process for a Tourist Visa has changed for many of us. Far more intrusive and inconvenient.

I just got a fabulous deal for buying thai baht here on my forex card... just a markup of 0.5 from the actual price
1 INR = 2.356 Thai baht and I am getting it at 2.40 OR 2.41 max, isn't it a good deal !?
Rate is currently 2.34. So you are paying a commission of up to 3%. Depends on what you consider a good deal.
Then you have the hefty cost of up to 220 baht for ATM withdrawals in Thailand. Some vendors may even attempt to charge for card usage.
Be careful out there ????

JJ whats the best monthly deal on True at the moment. ?? Only on a monthly basis though. I've mentioned before I use one particular True short code which gives unlimited data for 1 month for 199 plus vat albeit speed gets throttled after 1gb not that thats a big problem as only really FB Line etc.... Occasionally it would be useful at higher speed for the odd streaming though etc etc
The best deals are with new SIM.
No longer posting new codes to this forum.

You'll only kno

You'll only know once you are at the location. If one network is no good at your location, try another.

Here's the video, <deleted> scum bullies!!
At least 3 of them with the only thought in their minds to severely injure him
Yes. certainly shows it in a different light. There was no attempt to get him to pay a bill. It was just an attack with menace.
It wasn't just a running punch by one of them, it was the simultaneous attack by the other.

was just either unlucky fall or connected in the wrong place .
Plenty of examples people being properly bashed and they ok. Sometimes it’s just <deleted> out of luck as they say , that is not to say he did not have pre conditions, having gone what he has gone through very possible to have pre conditions and that punch was the tipping point
What is this 50 kg story you have created? There are many security personnel on Walking Street who are considerably over 50 kgs. Not seldom have I seen them fighting/attacking potential customers, who are smaller and outnumbered.
That's not to say that they weren't provoked. But clearly the opponents were no match for them in the first place.
The previous time on Walking Street was a young, extremely drunk Chinese male. Now he was perhaps 50 to 60 kg. The security personnel weighed considerably more.
He got a few kicks and slaps and punches until someone stepped in to stop it. He certainly had no capacity to fight, but the alcohol blocked his fear. Properly trained security would not need to beat him.
The fact that the Brit called the police a few minutes earlier leans to towards the conclusion that he was not necessarily the aggressor.
He doesn't sound like a trained fighter, but more of a logistics man.
I've never thrown a punch in the air. If I want to hit someone, I will hit them. It sounds as if he was trying to discourage them from getting too close, rather than trying to do any damage.

None of my doormen ever threw a punch in anger. Gentle persuasion or restraint was as far they needed to go.
But then our clubs didn't specialise in ripping the customers.
Low class establishment, low class security.

Works fine, any data plan will really do the job; I use AIS, and 1.5GB for two weeks for 200B should do fine for work, as long as you aren’t streaming.
1.5GB for 200 baht doesn't seem like a great deal.
Especially when you can obtain 200GB @ 4 Mbps for the same.

What do you do?
1. Buy a Sim Card. Put it into this thing. Then connect it to your PC or Laptop via USB?
2. Buy a Data package, by putting the Sim card into your phone, topping it up with money, and purchasing it via a given number/code typed in on your phone.
3. Put the simcard back into it, connect to the computer via USB and the PC/Laptop can connect to the internet from it?
You have two options;
One is to put the SIM card with the data pack within and use the device's HotSpot function. It creates a WiFi signal to which you can connect up to ten devices. This is the way most will use it.
Alternatively, you can plug it in via USB and use it in the same way as a USB dongle;
QuoteMake sure E5573s-320 is turned on(By tapping the power button to see if the indicator lights); To turn on E5573s-320, hold and press the power button until the light turns on to power on. If E5573s-320 is out of battery power, please charge it by USB cable or power adaptor.
Find the drive path “MobileWiFi”, it should appear as one virtual CD-ROM drive in “My Computer”. Double click to open it, then you can find “AutoRun.exe” ,double click and install the driver manually.
But most will just use the device as a HotSpot and connect via WiFi.

Don't see the attraction of purchasing stolen products. They are still stolen. You can just download them for yourself and cut out the middleman.

I re-read what i wrote as i was driving home and realized you would have to do the opposite: buy nmve first, then a 2.5" sata3 enclosure to retrofit.
Hindsight is 20/20
??
Why would anyone do such a thing?
That would be akin to putting a Mini's engine in a Ferrari.
SATA III and PCIe are different interfaces. .
You need a casing with, for an example; a USB 3.1 Gen (1/2) to a PCIe Gen 3 x (2/4) lane bridge controller.

Pattaya Halloween: The only scary thing was the complete lack of tourists
in Pattaya News
Posted · Edited by JamJar
It's not either or, is it?
It's not like there is a choice between short stay tourism and longer stay tourism, so what is your point?
Twenty years ago, friends who kept to a tight budget were spending 60k per month and that was considerably less than what I was spending. I would spend nearly that much on accommodation alone.
I don't care if there are tourists that stay for 4.8 days and spend an average of US$184 per day.
It's not as if they are stopping me from visiting Thailand.
What could stop me, is the feeling of being made to feel unwelcome and the utter sham of a visa application system.
Previously I could apply in person one day and pick up the visa the next.
Now you have to create an account online, upload sensitive documents to their system, print out a declaration and sign it. Then you scan that declaration and upload that too. Then book an appointment to take your passport to the Embassy, taking copies of all of the documents that you already uploaded and then two business days later, you can pick up the visa.
How in the world can that be called an eVisa?? It's not an improvement to their guest/customer in any sense of the word. Actually a huge backwards step. It takes longer and you are duplicating steps for no apparent reason. Imbecilic, on the surface.
So don't presume to tell anyone how it is for tourists, when you are clearly just making it up as you go along.
