The likes of Salah, Robben et al disprove that theory. Inverted wingers can be very dangerous The simple fact is that Bale appears 'past his sell by date' and would be equally ineffective which ever wing he plays on. A few years ago he would cut in on his left foot and score some crackers. He just doesn't seem to have that pace/confidence anymore. Looks like a poor buy to be honest.

Theories are just that...theories.. but as a rule of thumb you know it and you can argue the toss for it as much as you like .. but right footers play most effectively  on the right and left footers play most effectively on the left.  You may come up with exceptions but they are exceptions.   ... But NOT for all... I watched him quote a bit for real... And playing him  on the RHS didn't work WELL. He was good enuf to start with, held his own and had a few moments but slowly and surely his performances dropped away.. not aided by injury ...until he was frozen out of the picture... YESTERDAY.   I saw very very brief glimpses of the old bale ,, BUT it was ONLY when he swapped sides with bergy ..and played down the left.. and your right in that it is defo confidence thing... And playing HIM down the right isn't building it.

According to Jose, it is Bale's preference to play wide right; Dunno why he is so ineffective. The likes of Salah show how useful a left footer playing that role can be.

Yeah well this ain't about salah its about bale . Bale has said he's 'comfortable' playing anywhere ax the front... but the fact is he played himself out of Madrid by not playing well there. And he's about to do the same thing at  tottenham.. <deleted> is wrong with football .. he's a left footed winger.. they ain't common so use it

....watch him next time he receives the ball on the RHS.. he checks in and redirects himself so he can bring his left foot into being the dominant one... By that time ANY defender worth his salt is all over the situ... something's are v simple in football one of them is left footed wingers are better on the lhs . It ain't rocket science.

Poor all over from us,  Powder puff up front  and barring ndombele little or no energy in midfeild, I'm missing those surging runs and power hustles from sissoko.. until lucus came on no-one was prepared/ able to run them ... Lamella is just a touch  stupid... No one in the spurs team deserves any form of praise..as I said poor all around.

Earlier in the season I might have considered Wilson at Newcastle, but their results in the last couple of months have squashed that.

His 2  , 2 day make you not far of the mark

Martinez was called signing of the season on sky 2 day..down to him villas defence this season is unrecognisable compared to last..

Does anyone actually know what is wrong with Bale? Does he not have an injury? How hard is it for a top level athlete to get fit.... Cavani came in firing on all cylinders and he's 34.

You never know with Mourinho, he might just be putting him on the 'naughty step' for some reason, as he did with Shaw and Martial etc

It's simple... He's a left footed winger/inside forward/ that can play in the center, Jose INSISTS on playing him on the right, he loses effectiveness.. he joined spurs as a left bac, Hari pushed him forward and he became a world record transfer from playing him on the left...ok at Madrid Ronnie liked the left.. but they juxtaposed.. and it worked.. but he played himself out of Madrid by Zidane insisting on playing him down the right and looks like Jose is gonna do the same this time at tottenham ...

Shame .. u can see theres still an extra gear there,  a run of games down the lhs .. and I think he'd produce.. but atm it doesn't look like it's gonna happen...

What happened to our defense?  3 goals that could have been prevented.

    Jose must be furious.

..i know the players <deleted> up .... But, for me,  equally as much so did Jose the selection and the formation he chose wasn't right.

  7. Got what we deserved tonight... Poor defending for the goals especially by aurier.. he is just a frigging  AIR HEAD     and think Jose for once got it wrong. Imo Poor choises of formation and Ineffective/wrong subs kane going of didn't help. But lamella to replace him ... W T F!!  Didn't take a rocket scientist to work out what was happen    NOTHING.. would have luved to see bale replaced him... But as long as bale plays down the right..u can see... He just doesn't trust himself to go by anyone... anyways ...that's the prem....

What a difference a bit of time can make. Ndombele looks a different player now compared to his early days. He notched that second goal like he was springing out of bed. Nothing to it.

Ndombele was doing the same things when he joined us as he's doing now,  except now he's doing them for 65 mins as opposed to 15/20... It just took him a while to get used to the physicality and get his fitness up.

  9. Fair play 2 Wycombe  they competed and for the first 30 mins gave as good as they got ...and in open play 1.0 didn't flatter them .. saying that by the chances we created and missed we should have been out of sight by half time.. instead of leaving  it till the last 10 mins   SLOPPY spurs.. still can't see playin lucus a right footer down  the left and bale a left footed down the right..it just  DOES NOT get the best out of them . They looked ok 2nite but against a prem team  they wouldn't... tonight  for me we saw saw glimmers of a fully match fit bale. But SERIOUSELY it's wasted.down the right . Sanchez and Toby struggled with the Wycombe muscle ndombele ... CLASS footballer...  Everton away in the next round.. need to be putting the 1st 11 out for that,  I'm sure Everton will.. first up a little matter of Liverpool at the lane.... were on a good run atm so confidence is/should be high,  so.. we saw utd do them the other night.. and all in consideration ... No reason why we can't...their tippy tappy high line game 100 % depends on a strong backline /defence and atm in that dept their stretched ... So GAME ON..

  10. So gentlemen it's the half wayish mark in the season

Which NEW signing has made  a big difference 2 a team and why?

    I'll start the ball rolling

I'll go Martinez at villa.. last season that back line leaked goals and were generally sloppy.. and with virtually the same bodies. It's turned into a mean machine even returning a few goals

Oh.  And  just as I was about to conclude how can I not now include Watkins  when he's just added a.9th to  as an impressive a debut prem season as I can remember...but it's not just the goals his all round game is excellent, both footed, unselfish team play  work rate pace the boys got the lot.. but u all know that cos I've been bleetin on about him for EVER..

    Anyways over to you  guys

I reckon Jose knows how to get the best out of him... but yeah I agree he certainly doesn't seem a better option than Delle Ali

Yeah.  If Ali 'forces' a move  to psg... I would think Jose Will want a new expierenced  body in, lingard would fill the void,   but honestly I can't see  that utd. Would sanction a move to us.. but I suppose there will b various factors that could 'influence' that. Contracts cash.  How much both players want the move. And would lingard trade one bench for another? ... But on the other hand  our 3rd front men havnt nailed their places down,  so who knows what Jose is thinking .. but the FACT is  barring Ari and son were not finding the net enuf

  12. 5 hours ago, balo said:

Sorry but I hope we do not get Lingard.  Surely there must be better options out there.

Jose knows him well... And wasn't he playing well when he was at utd?   . so if Jose wants him.. that's good enuf for me... aside from that. Ide have him on the bench..NO DOUBTS the lads got a point to prove and honestly I could think of far worse players to have on the bench. As could probably an awful lot of prem managers... BUT in all seriousness  I doubt utd would let him go to a prem team chasing the champions...lge

Who in their right mind would want Lingard?

How about half the premier lge... Just because he's not first choise at  his club atm.. doesn't overnight make him a bad footballer.. not so long ago.. I wouldn't say he was first on the team sheet at man u  AND England.. but not far off it ...

You should be his toilet flunky that's how much you need a manager like that. With your tongue that's how devoted you should be.

Do you really have to be so unpleasant... There's absolutely no need... If you disagree .. fair enuf.. why not just say that.. it's not so dificult.

  15. No big surprise in the result against relegation threatened s utd.. thought they played well enuf but with not real cutting edge..a couple of mistakes but I suppose against any team aspiring for a.top 4 finish they're gonna get punished.. CLASS  goal by ndembele.. whose improving from game to game.. son missed a couple and kane arguably should have had another.. but hey... No huge complaints barring aurier seems to be getting his '<deleted>' mode back on..

Next up a nice easy one Liverpool...big game 4 them 2day maybe it'll take its toll on them  we can but live in hope..

Oh no place on the bench for deli.. if poch is calling..If I were him i'de be hammering of Levy's door tellin him all I wanna do  is play.. and psg offering a realistic chance of winning the champs lge...who could blame him for wanting the off... That is if he's eligible? Anyone. ..
    ..

  16. Tbh... I really cant understand  parkers 'outrageous' comment..the only outrageous thing, imo, is <deleted> over paid, over pampered footballers breaking the current rules..

Tbh they should be banned and or fined, and if needing work permits...

I can see why Jose choose a strong lineup. Brentford on another day could have caused us trouble.  Nice goal by Son.

Post match Sissoko reckoned he knew it was offside...I obviously didn't quite see it from as close as he didn... But whenever var get the red line out ... From what I've seen it comes down to more Luc than judgement.. thankfully .yesterday Luc was with us.. still think even if that one had stood.. we'd have enuf to see them off.

Thought Brentford were . Decent, always felt we were gonna win.. though a battering was NEVER gonna be on the cards. They played well and only really troubled us when Sanchez,, surprise surprise.. got done on his wrong side... Toney is good enuf... But last season they had Ollie Watkins. And west ham's  Benrama in full flow and not Sayin they would have beat us... but think it could have been a lot closer

  18. Not by any means a sure thing that we'll beat Brentford 2nite.. they sold their 50 goal a season attack ie Ollie to villa and Benny boy to the hammers.. signed tooney from Peterborough  whose been in and out of the startin 11 so it's taken a while to settle things down, but they're in and around the championship play offs and playin quite well, I'de hope we'll progress.., But it's by no means a given .. Brentford are decent.. well orgonised decent defence and swift enuf in the attack... all round they play GOOD football... So lookin forward to a competative game..

Wasn’t that why you bought Vinicius?

. Jose want Danny Inge's . And levy buys him an unknown untried c/f On approval for the rest of the season... IF he makes it then they reckon levy will pay 40 mil. Yeah right. . but he's a bac up centerforward  and if he plays he'll get chances. HE IS DECENT ... BUT the prob lies in the others.  Bergy and the other midfield  players... Not enuf of them are chipping in...and they HAVE to.. Alli may not give much defensively. BUT he WILL create and get on the end of chances AND with a little more match time,  finish them
