Never heard of PGRs before, but you're right I do use cheap WESCO fertilizer on my hydro grow. I don't mind and neither do the plants.

Just out of interest, what nutrients do your growers use?

Thailand banned the import of all the usual recommended products like Fox Farm.

Couldn't buy them anywhere last year, WESCO was the only game in town.

If I could find something better, at a reasonable price, I'd use it.

But even now Fox Farm at 2000bht (750ml) Vs WESCO 120bht (1Kg) doesn't make much financial sense to me.

can you recommend a light ? anything cheaper / better ? or they all are sold at similar price and quality is equal ?

     thanks a lot

Even with the most convenient paint by numbers thus expensive indoor growing set up its still probably much cheaper to grow your . Lets see then, shall we? Allow me to go completely crazy for 20 minutes and speculate, estimate etc:

I'm sure its possible to do much better than what I outline here starting with ordering top of the line seeds from Holland, Spain, UK, US etc for $5-10 apiece, $50-100 a ten pack. But who knows, you might luck out and find a great phenotype lurking in the seed in the bottom of your bowl of Guay Tiow sai ganja, na krap. Actually you can pay what you want, there's super esoteric boutique seeds for the skies the limit on online international delivery sites like Neptune Seeds, another good one is Sensible Seeds U.K.  that has a lot of positive reviews about not ripping people off tons of free seeds for large orders, and a huge selection of all the major seed breeders. Beware the rip off artists masquerading as Canadian seed banks mostly, they abound, weird grammar and general extreme and nonsensical English is the warning sign. They get all  the company graphics somehow so these sites had me fooled for quite awhile, luckily I never ordered before I saw all the complaints on sites like Trust Pilot. The English was so bizarre however you still got completely sketched out by it. These guys are in Canada? OK, maybe they are immigrant Chinese Canadians or something but are they that xenophobic that they won't even hire a local to  write up the products they are selling? Complaints range from never receiving product and not responding to inquiries after they have your Bitcoin to getting orders but the seeds have been switched out for ones that don't pop, or grow something some <deleted> thats not on the tin etc. Once you're aware, its easy to spot the legit sites if you are not already hip, if it gives you the creeps just by pass them there are many others.

Then there's an online  guy/bloke/düde in Thailand (you need the umlat over your u when you say dude if you want to sound like a stoner or leave it out if you don't want to sound that way and you naturally say it that way because you're a white boy or girl from California) Stoner Corner Thailand selling Mars Hydro grow tents, fans, air filters and lights online for about the same price if you ordered them yourself from overseas, the shipping and import fees are more than the cost of the gear if you order from abroad, so Stoner Corner passes those costs on to you charges double the sticker price you'll get from ordering abroad and it would work out only probably 30 percent more expensive ordering from Stoner Corner, but minus a long wait and potential customs hassles. Or so I assume. There's not a lot of help or info at Stonercorner and the site sketches me out a wee bit as well, so i am on the fence about them, so you might rather order from Amazon or somewhere abroad anyway...yuck, Amazon or maybe better 1,000 seeds in Germany has a ton of stuff. Stoner Corner  also sells stones for stoners  to smoke like Mokum Tulip for 175,000 baht a pound or Galactic Runtz or Buntz or Lunks or whatever its called for 200,000 baht a pound, so we can compare directly, a pound o' Stonercorner buds or Stoner corner gear to grow your own pound and probably much more fun should you succeed. This would be the kind of set up that I might get should I decide I don't just want to get some dirt put some expensive ganja seeds in and set it out in the back yard and hope:

    1. Mars Hydro TS 3000- covers 5 foot by 5 foot area and more in a reflective sided Mars Hydro grow tent- 14,300 baht

    2. Mars Hydro Grow Tent- 7 foot 10.5 inches x 3 foot 11.2 inches x 6 foot 6.7 inches- 7,600 baht

    3. Mars Hydro 6 inch In-Line Fan, Air-filter and Thermostat- 6,200 baht

    4. Organic super power soil-less soil T-rex 10 kilo bag- 1,100 baht x 6 (one bag fills one 6.5 gallons/22 liters)- 6,600 baht

    5. Organic nutrients 3 pack (Vegetative, Shield, and Bloom) 1,500 baht x 2 or 10 (?) who knows, no info about how much you need to grow good pot, lets say x2 - 3000 baht

    6. A pair of Mars Hydro sunglasses so you don't go blind from working so hard growing ganja 570 baht

    7. Bloom Booster soil improvement (Perhaps the T-rex soil can be improved upon, so you might need this) 1500 baht x 2 for 5 kilos, each plant needs 1 cup a week- 3,000 baht

    8. Scrog netting to uphold heavy bud stalks 120 x 120 cm 450 baht x 2- 900 baht

    9. 5 gallon "Smart" Pots 80 baht x 6- 480 baht

Comment: You can get a VivoSun complete set up: tent, lights, in line fan and thermostat for less than 400 dollars. But you'll pay as much for the shipping and import fees and oc course you're ordering from Mr. Smithers and his snickering pooch Smedly over at Amazon. I heard tell from the authorities at the University of Cannabis where you can get a Master of Cannabis degree for less than 400 dollars that VivoSun is a recommened brand whereas among the many reputable grow tent makers we see no mention of Mars. I don't know, there are plenty of growers on Youtube who mention using Mars stuff so its probably OK an who knows they might using them on Mars so you'll have something to talk about with the Martians when it turns out they have been running things here on earth all along.

Stuff Stonercorner doesn't sell but which seems to me to be essential if you want a shot at growing top shelf stuff, which you can surely do, its not rocket science though I'm sure it is an art, but more about staying focussed grasshopper than re-inventing the wheel backwards with a simulataneous cute playing the spoons and tap dance act:

Dehumidifier (You can buy them or order them from Home Pro, but can they be hooked up to a controller? I dunno, Home Pro probably doesn't know either, but you should just buy them anyway and save them and give them to your grandchildren when you pass away  if it isn't compatible with a ganja set up) G.M.S H2105 25SQ.M BLACK at Home Pro- 1,500 baht

Humidifier (Weirdly you can buy them in Thailand. Isn't Thailand humid enough? Well maybe not sometimes if you are growing bud in a tent) G.M.S H2105 25SQ.M at Home Pro-1,500 baht

Humidity Controller (For sensing humidity levels and switching on/off your humidifier/dehumidifier) 1000 Seeds in Germany has a good selection and you can pay what you want to. 25 Euro to 400 Euro. I thought the GSE 8A looked good, but I don't know they may be garbage, have to check reviews if'n there's anywheres left that aint so Dad-burned  corrupted: -125 euro but more like 175-200 after shipping and import tax- 6,000 baht

There's also supposedly a very good alternative with Inkbird humidity controllers which I've heard mushroom growers say are good and they are only 25 dollars but look too much like disposable Chinese junks or junk rather, but then again isn't everything disposable Chinese junk including certain presidents of certain large powerfull American countries. You also have to buy them on Amazon, go ahead make my day, be my guest, its your planet's funeral if you go on supporting this company and yeah I admit I use them too for books, you can't buy books like Clark Coolidge's "A Book Beginning What and Ending Away." anywhere in Asia, I probably own the only copy on the continent  and what use is being stoned if you don't that book to trip out on:

    10. Seeds (I think you want to get seeds for stuff that interest you and that will keep you motivated to keep growing for the next 5 years or so so that you at least get the most out of your tent set up .) - 15,000 baht is what i want to spend on some tropical landraces (Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, Malawi, Congo, Afghanistan) some classics (AK47, Jack Herer, some variety of haze) some auto-flowers (420 Fast Buds looks like an excellent seed producer, tons of info and articles and pics and grower questions answered) and a few trendy new ones that sound and look interesting the Plant Stable seed breeder in the US on Neptune Seeds seedbank looks fascinating.

    11. Electricity per month- I would guess another 1,000-3,000 baht depending if you are sharing your house's air conditioning or if you are air conditioning your grow area separately. The LED lights I believe are relatively negligible in terms of how much electricity it takes to run them versus say halide lights or whatever it used to be but if you are using old school lighting  its quite a significantly higher amount of juice but maybe those kind of lights are a thing with some, perhaps it gives your weed something special, I don't know, I'm sure theres some sort of old school cannabis lighting cult out there and they will never surrender their ballasts.

    12. If you live out in the sticks you'll need a power surge protector and a battery backup. I think those run about 6,000 baht. Other wise all your gear risks getting fried or your set up going on the blink if the power fails.

    So again thats:

    14,300- Lights

    7,300- Grow Tent

    6,200- In-Line Fan+Air Filter+Temperature Control

6,600 - organic soilless soil for 1 grow (6-8 plants)

3,000- organic nutrients for 1 grow (6-8 plants)

    3,000- bloom booster 1 grow (6-8 plants)

570- special invisible glasses to help you remain invisible while gardening

    900- Scrog Netting 2 x (120x 120)

    480- 6 pots

3000- Crummy Home Pro Humidifier + Crummy Dehumidifier

    6000- humidity controller

15,000- seeds (enough for probably 5 years of growing)

4,000-12,000-baht electric bill for 4 months

    6,000-power surge protector.

So thats 76,350-84,350 for your initial pound of bud. Of course after that its lots cheaper at 16,600-24,000 per 4 months.

Could you get a pound of bud out of it in four months? Would you want to, quality over quantity maybe, or are you going with what you are interested in and like versus just brute production and thereby cheaper? I suppose you could get more than a pound out of it with plants that finish ultra fast like some of the faster auto-flowers some of which the Fast Buds seed company promise are done in 55-60 days. or regular plants that produce a ton of buds. Lets say you get a half pound out  in 4 months, 8 ozs, then you are not doing much better than just buying a pound from Stoner corner. If you like sativa, I would think generally speaking you'll have a tougher time making the grade cost-wise your first growing season whereas your indicas and afganicas are going to produce more. But yeah, that first season out of the way and your looking at dirt cheap and primo ganja, as much as you need and just the kind you want not what they happen to have in stock. And you know Thailand, it "pot" luck even when you go to the supermarket sometimes.

The tent gives you nearly 2.5 square meters. And considering that I like the sound of auto-flowers being done in two months, I would plant a variety of auto-flowers  for my first grow and that would happen to more than make up the cost of buying a pound from Stoner Corner. There are quite a number of plants that according to the auto-flower mavens at 420 Fast Buds  will yield 450-600 grams per square meter in two months. So given you have 2 square meters at minimum in the above mentioned 240cm wide x 100cm wide tent, that's 900-1200 grams per two months or 1800-2400 grams per 4 months. A lot of 20-28% THC stuff to smoke. So, I guess you really have to like smoking ganja or maybe you enjoy giving everyone in your village an eighth ounce 4 times a year which might get you a hello how are you instead of being ignored for supplying the best free pot known to man. If you were Thai and allowed and able to sell it, whoa...lets count our eggs before they hatch for a minute and say you could sell your produce at 100 baht a gram. kick ass pot for 180,000-240,000 baht out of your tent per 4 month season. I think you'd have a shot at unloading that in 2022 at that price. You could go 30 baht a gram and  still make 54,000- 72,000 baht every 4 months. Or open a shop in Bangkok pay an additional 15,000-20,000 per month for the shop rental, 50,000 baht/month for 2 staff members and have loads of year round enjoyment  incurring the wrath of the Ganja business community selling top shelf bud (currently 800-1200/gram) for 200 baht a gram and gross 360,000-480,000 baht per season. Minus costs of 304,000 maximum per season you're running on fumes the first few seasons until either you're assassinated or put in prison for something trumped up and unrelated or you're interviewed in Coconuts and constantly by half the Youtubers in Thailand as a cannabis hero for bringing affordable ganja prices to everyone. At which point you then raise your prices to a whopping 500 baht as your sales go through the roof to an unimaginable 3600-4800 grams sold per season grossing you 1.8-2.4 million baht per season minus the costs of running two grow tents at 33,200-48,000 baht per season and an initial start up cost for the second tent set up of 59,180 baht assuming everything is the same price as when the 1st set up was bought. Considering also your shop costs of 280,000 baht per season and that's 1.8 -2.4 million minus (48,000+59,180+280,000)= 1,412,820 to 2,012,000 net per 4 month season.

I imagine that's still a pretty ideal picture, I must leaving major costs out there like govt taxation which I'm sure will be steep if hey even allow shops to continue selling ganja. It seems they want to have people sell to the govt only. Appalling. What does the government know about ganja they'd probably reject a lot of it for arbitrary reasons just because they can under pay etc. But even if you managed to find a way to sell ganja at say 300 baht a gram after taxes, you'd eventually have quite stiff competition from businesses that didn't have to pay rent as owners of a property and perhaps in some perfect location like Siam Square of Khao San Road. You might be able to cut rent costs considerably doing a cutsey bootsy sidewalk stand, or shop on wheels junk truck selling food and ganja with DJ Johnny Dreadlocks or Hip Hop Harry or Metal MAry or Re-Bop the Be Bop Zoot suit smokin hot jazz and latin hipster pumpin the tunes or some other gimmick to get people in. If it were me I'd be all in for something much more Amsterdam than US cannabis shop which from over here on this side of the swamp  all seem about as exciting as an electric  pencil sharpener dealership. I think many businesses may decide to do a copy of the American style shop where you just get your buds and get the hell out of there and leave because it reminds you more of going to get your tooth drilled at dentist office. Already Highlands is offering beer and probably some snacks and other reasons to hang out and meet people who are avid about buds. I think that is the way to go the angle to absolutely crush the competition: offer entertainment, hang out space, events that stoned people have forgotten they enjoy like poetry readings, open mike nights, local bands playing gigs, maybe a small bookshop with good guides on growing ganja, good intelligent counter culture stuff, help people to use ganja to feed their awareness instead of just encouraging numbness and tuning out and not do it in a stupid sterile zombie pc way either, just try to help people to help themselves see through the utter <deleted> this world is drowning in. Or sell clothes and music develop a style for people to communicate to the world at large with. Or go simple with maybe just with a very friendly coffee shop/ganja outlet with some soul would do it, pay enough to attract smart and excellent people to work make them feel very good and proud to work there maybe enough people are burned out on phoney, sterile, and life in a petri dish lab experiement where you are just getting cynically gouged and bowlschlitzted everywhere you turn around.

Maybe 2 & 1/2 to 3 months ago a pregnant Soi dog wandered in & set up shop in a vacant yard.

Locals came out to feed it.

Now there are 6 Soi dogs who bark and want to fight me, the wife and anyone else.

    They are vermin.

Small wonder people do not like dogs.

thank you, this is why we keep feeding them, the enjoyment of seeing grumpy old men complain.

But what is weird, is that nobody complains me when we meet in the streets, so maybe grumpy old men are only keybord warriors ?

  7. So the one who feed dogs got mad that idiots tell him to stop ? I really understand him. Maybe he will help people complaining that we feed dogs, to understand that we are not interested by their opinion and that we do exactly what we want !

Where can we find more information ? I will send him money and open an online fundraising to help him.

Got in touch with the manufacturer's agents and they sent a team round, who replaced parts and got it working. Not cheap, over 6000 baht, but it made me realize the unit was 9 years old. It was a Daikin and I used ARC.

when it failed after cleaning it is that the idiot sprayed water on the PCB. I know what I am talking about, it happened to me with the most famous aircon idiots on TEPPRASIT road...
