Best place to eat good and cheaply at BKK is the employee food court on ground level at the far end of international arrivals side of airport

That's true and was a good hint for long time.

But some months ago I went down and couldn't even reach the entrance.

100% packed with Chinese tourists. Crowd waiting outside.

No idea whether it is still that bad.

Is writing กราวด์ as in the example instead of กราวนด์ considered correct?

You might be right as transcription from foreign languages to Thai script is not really exact science.

Both scripts can be found almost 50:50.

The dictionaries are not helpful but กราวนด์ really looks more plausible.

  3. They should have a look here ("e-exam"):

    http://apps.dlt.go.th/e_exam/

But they don't have it that easy like foreigners.

Instead of 90 questions total there are about a 1000 or so from which the 50 are selected for the test.

It includes categories that do not appear for foreigners like legal/registration/insurance/vehicle inspection/car maintenance(!).

On the other hand I don't know whether all these categories will really appear in the test.

    Buakhow Bukaew Bukhao Bukouw Bukow

    Just face the oncoming traffic

Yes, whenever possible walk on the right.

I remember two cases of pedestrians killed on 2nd rd but not on Soi Buakhao.

Although some big bike hools seem to work on that

I am always stunned how few accidents happen in this chaos (like Soi Diana [Lengkee]/Soi Buakhao).

Geez fly to Japan and spend a few says there before travelling on, or HongKong and or Taiwan. Shorter time than taking a ship but with a break

    Korea also. Excellent airport.

Flight to Los Angeles is 11 hours.

I find that long 20+ hour plane trip unbearable.

    Which is your final destination?

These planes must have been recycled from an airline that didn’t want them because they are old, banged up, pretty aged on the inside.

    Oh yes.

Their "youngest" plane is 12.7 years.

    Oldest is 28.5 years.

    One with 6 previous owners.

Not that there are well known airlines who come close :whistling:

Emirates fares out of BKK, travel 22nd January to 30th November, book by 29th January.

    Good find.

First time I see appropriate prices for Emirates to Germany (Eco).

Just searched Munich in May, 23330 Baht with acceptable night flights both directions.

    (usual prices about 38000 Baht).

Only disadvantage is the 20 kg baggage allowance compared to their usual 30 kg.

If you are talking about Pattaya International then that is not State - it is a private Hospital

The third one referenced is Pattaya Memorial.

But I think it also a private hospital.

Banglamung and the fairly new Pattaya city are state hospitals.

Banglamung is very crowded (walked out with a sick friend to find a private clinic).

I don't know whether Pattaya city is better.

    Sounds like Malware in Google

Sent from my SM-N950F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

In Chrome I assume (hard to keep apart ).

It's one of these annoying browser redirects.

About the only malware I caught in more than 10 years.

Just use FF to search for "chrome search club" (notice the "club" spelling).

    Hopefully the removal guides work.

EDIT: browser redirect, only malware type i caught. Not that I had "chrome search club".

  11. Until reading your post I didn't even notice this "problem".

But indeed it exists (assuming that you describe a Google search, as 9x.xx% of Chrome installations are configured for Google search).

    Right?

So it is neither Chrome nor Samsung related.

Scroll down to the bottom of the search results.

On the second line from bottom you will you find "Settings" on the left.

    (Google site settings)

Click on that, select "Search settings" (?).

In the settings you find something like "Region for search results" (?).

If this is set to "Actual region" (?) or "Thailand", then change it to whatever you prefer.

This should help. Fixed the "problem" for me.

Don't ask me what the exact influence this has on the search results.

(?): as my phone/language setting is German I can not exactly describe the terms.

    I hope so.

At least roughly in the west depending on season.

    Today at 248 WSW.

or connect the german embassy in BKK and ask for help.

Don't expect anything from them, except you have some sort of legal title or the like.

Even in Germany offices won't give addresses without court rule.

Unfriendly, rude and arrogant in any way.

So better save you this frustration.

    Contacting Thai embassy in Berlin?

    Maybe the same result.

All I found is a Thai society ("Verein") in Munich.

  14. Just asking:

Is it prepaid or postpaid AIS?

Can you specify what kind of plan it is and how it is booked?

    If prepaid:

Are you sure the plan has been "refilled" for another month?

(most prepaid plans are not auto refilling)

Is it a plan that has a volume limit (throttling after using up)?

(700 Baht does not sound like a high speed unlimited flat rate)

What's the result of a package check?:

    *121*32#

I don't know much about postpaid.

  15. Call it market forces, currency market, speculation, whatever, but not "rip off at exchange booths in high season" like another poster did

    usdthb.jpg

And at the same the US government accuses Thailand to use unfair practices to LOWER the Thai Baht

And at the same time prices for IMPORTED products are on the RISE again and again.

No fun visiting the supermarkets

  16. Nakhonchai Air (NCA) alone offers three daytime connections from Kalasin to Bangkok.

    8:45h, Silver class

    9:45h and 11:15h Gold class

    Travel time about 7:30.

    Recommended.

I don't know whether they go through Khon Kaen (regarding previous post).

Bet there are other companies too.

  17. There is a plan to phase out Gasohol 91.

It was in misc. reports in 2017.

I don't remember the details, but it was sure not planned for this year or at least not Jan 1.

Price difference between Gasohol 91 and 95 is marginal anyway.

    So not a big deal.

91 octane was out-phased in many European countries since long.

No reason to use expensive benzene (without Ethanol) if the vehicle is designed for E10 Gasohol (10% ethanol).

Recent cars and scooters run well also on E20.

    --------

Just found a report from 2016(!) that Gasohol 91 should be stopped on Jan 1, 2018.

But as you know, some things take a little longer in Thailand.

Another report about a "plan" from 2012

How sickening that we are openly invited to watch a video of another human being maimed. Then, perversly all invited to comment and give our opinions of how, why, or just the usual anti Thai rhetoric that infests thai visa.

What a wonderful Utopia we have created.

Thai internet (mainly on FB) are full of even more sickening content.

FB allows it and does not nothing when reporting.

The OP clearly says "graphic content".
