Demonizing the Foreigners will be the fall back position of the Government when the epidemic hits Thailand.
I fear it will have ramifications for Foreigners who seek treatment during a full blown epidemic.
Antuin is a Close Friend of one of my long term Thai Business friends. I do not know him personally; but I have watching his Facebook posts with my friend over the last few years. What do I know about him? Barred from politics for five years because he was a cabinet member and Minister of Health for the Thaksin Aministration. Comes from a Wealthy Burriram Construction family. Bought an Airplane and spent his five years away from politics learning to fly. Does life flights delivering organs for critical patients. Spent a lot of time flying to Europe on Holiday. Big fan Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores. Has been busy setting up his friends in the Medical Weed Industry and annoyed with this pesky Corona Virus. Has aspirations to be the PM.

If he is so Patriotic to Thailand, then why did he wait until he was too old for the Thai Army Draft Lottery?

OK. We are to blame; and by the way we are also the cause of Cancer too.

Wow! An Ambassador who seems to know what he is talking about. Thailand has played the "we are a poor country" card for too long. The Elite's in Thailand have been sucking Thailand dry for too long; and it is getting noticed. Hopefully the new Generation of Thai's will overcome generations of Salve Mentality.

Heck, why doesn't USAID cough up some of it to American expats living here, since the Thai government sure as hell won't bother with us?
Yeah! You are right.

.....And why is the USA giving away tax payer money to Thailand? I am sure there are places in the USA that need it.

First, I would make a visit to the office of the Thai Prime Minister; and then Thai parliament.

This is <deleted> ridiculous for many reasons. 1) They should have a team of people doing house visits to check. Why would you want to send someone to a hospital and infect everybody from your home to the hospital. 2) The Gov't should bear the costs as they are liable.

The USA Should stop all Aid and Military assistance to the Thai Government.

It would be really good if governments and their organizations would be more honest about the state of affairs. I keep seeing that 50 Million people are in quarantine in China; but I did see one reporter the other day; who said the real number under quarantine in China is 750 Million. Every Major City, including Shanghai and Beijing have quarantines in place.

The Government needs to own up to this tragedy. The PM seems indignant. This is a blow to the community.
A government person (the Soldier) was upset about fleeced on a Land deal with his Commander. No Military I know of would allow Officers to do business with their Subordinates. This Conduct should be addressed as it is the problem that ignited the situation; and laws and policies need to be drawn up to prevent this conduct within any Government Agency.
The Shooter accessed weapons of war. This is and has been a problem in Thailand for decades as I read about weapons being stolen from military bases serval times in the past. They have announced that they are making some changes, but they need to be serious about this and explain o the public steps they are taking to prevent this from ever happening again.
The Government needs to compensate the victims. A Government Soldier accessed Government Weapons and killed 30 people and would a lot more. They are culpable for this tragedy. they should release 1 Mill Baht immediately to the victims families until they establish proper compensation. A Couple Millions dollars of immediate compensation is not going to break the Government and it is the least they can do.

The PM said yesterday that there was nothing wrong about the Security of Weapons Armouries; it just was a fact that the guard had been killed.
A True Leader would accept responsibility; and show leadership on working with the Military to address Security at these facilities in the short term; and establishing long term operational changes; or even changes in the facilities design that will prevent this from ever happening again.

He is not even a good leader. He should have the event to praise Heroic efforts of bystanders who where checking on the wounded while shots where still being fired. He then should have used the candlelight vigil the next night to read the names off of those who had been killed and some details honoring the victims Life.
He should follow that up with a speech to the nation about reforms within the Army that punishes commanders who are conducting business with subordinate military members; Then I would have the Head of the Army explained how the shooter got access to war weapons; Then he should talk about operational changes about how weapons and ammo stored on Military Installations. Then he should talk about compensation and support for the Victims.
Then I would Direct Military procurement to buy some night vision googles; and get some training in counterterrorism tactics. Maybe even establish a counterterrorism unit that we all thought they had.

Access to an Military Armoury in the USA is like going to Fort Knox. My Son is in the USAF Security Forces (Military Police) and constantly complains about the 1.5 hours he has to spend at the Armoury gearing up before his shift; and the 1.5 hours it takes to turn it in at the end of his shift.

Some of the Video's that the shooter posted on YouTube prior to this incident shows him using the Sniper Rife and shooting at targets from his car. there where also some video's showing him using the Shotgun. Suspect some these these where his personal weapons. He was a skilled shooter in these videos and a reckless on too as some video's showed him twirling a semi auto "John Wayne" style and shooting at targets. He would have been kicked out of any Gun Range in the USA for doing this.

He is displaying the peace symbol. Cute photo op. The only thing missing is some heart emoji's.
Give credit where credit is due.
I live in Khorat and heard about the incident after may neighbor's where frantic over a call from their Son who was trapped in T21. My wife and I tuned into Social Media and YouTube where people where broadcasting the situation as in unfolded. All of that content has now been removed, but what I saw was motorbike Taxi's rushing to help the wounded as bullets where still flying; and RTP people cowering being Cement Pillars.
As my wife and I where watching the events unfold and watching the gruesome images where learned from my wife's mother that one of the casualties was my wife's Cousin was killed near the entrance while still on his motorbike. Horrifically we saw his image in the early in the broadcast but did not recognize it was him at the time.
My Neighbors where in intense prayer. They asked me what I would do. I told them if it was my Son, I would go to Terminal 21; and nothing could stop me. They remained at home glued to the events. Their Son finally got out at midnight.
I am not giving ANY Credit to the RTP. They allowed this tragic event to go on too long; and I could not believe the 40 Commando's they brought in could not out flank they shooter.

The US spends Millions on training and equipping the Police and Military of Thailand. None of that paid off during this tragic event. Appears to me there was no one with enough tactical training that could of ended this quickly.
Some of the real heroes where the TAXi drivers attending to the wounded when bullets where still flying; and while the local RTP was cowering behind cover.

The word "Free" in Free Trade Agreements is a complete misnomer. that is why the new US Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) is not longer called the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Free Trade Agreements are never Free.

We will see a lot more of this in Thailand. Hyperinflation; factory mass terminations; and a sanctimonious self serving government.
