  1. dear john,

You have traveled long and far to be in thailand.

Why on gods green earth would you want everything here to be the same as there?

Are you so fragile, that you cant comprehend why people would be shirtless at a pool restaurant?

perhaps thailand is not for you, you seem to yearn for the motherland.

Sorry just don't like to sit and eat food next to sweaty people, I never see a Thai do this

  2. In most countries in Europe you cannot eat inside or outside with your shirt removed, why is this allowed in Thailand ?

on my complex in Pattaya we have a Frenchman who runs the swimming pool and restaurant , he sits there in the restaurant all day shirtless as do many customers( mostly French) if this was France it would not be allowed, so why do they do it !!!!!

England has an extradition agreement with Thailand, so if Thailand requests extradition she'll be returning home!

Well, you don't know how badly he had to go and also they were stuck in traffic in the middle of the road. So he's supposed to leave his taxi holding his possessions and walk to the side of the road? Seems risky. Obviously, society needs some social norms and he broke them, but this isn't exactly the crime of the century.

The time to have the time of your life is in your 20's, you then won't regret that you didn't for the rest of your life, and end up trying to 'make up for lost time' as a sex-pat in a third world country popping erection pills with seedy prostitutes.

Yeah, it's incredibly suicidal behavior which seems to have a cultural component.  I've never seen vehicles merge onto a thoroughfare without looking anywhere else I've driven in the world.  Sure, occasionally you'll see someone do it in a Western country, and you think to yourself, "Wow, that was stupid and if a cop was around he'd be getting a ticket."  Here in Thailand pulling out without looking is the norm.  And when it happens, who is that most at risk?  Motorcycle riders.  I can only imagine the amount of carnage that is caused by just this one example of highly dangerous driving behavior that is standard here in Thailand.  Failing to either stop or yield at intersections and then turning onto the main roads without even a glance at oncoming traffic.

    What a stupid question!

It isn't hard to know where Yingluck has been for the last several months, I have read it in the newspaper! And if I can read where she is "hiding" in the Nation and/or the Newspaper that shall not be named, then it ain't hiding.

Do they want her back? No.

She was put on trial by the military regime that supplanted her government; no right thinking person on the planet would claim that she got a fair trial (regardless of whether you think she was innocent or guilty).

If the Junta believed that she was treated fairly, they would try to extradite her. And no country on the planet would ever extradite a former PM to the coup-makers who supplanted her. It just ain't done. Don't believe me? Let me ask; why hasn't there been an extradition request made for Thaksin? Its not like no one knows where he is? It wouldn't be honoured- that is why it doesn't happen.

And it would be the same for Yingluck- no government would ever extradite her back to the Junta.

If Yingluck ever comes back, it'll be because she chose to do so and for no other reason.

She will be back to face trial the same time as the Red Bull Heir NEVER ?

Personally I would label this as one of the much talked about "false news" stories we are exposed to more and more

Is there nothing more important to report than this garbage "non news"

    seriously

Yes looks a bit more like handbags at dawn?

Yes agree about not looking right before entering a road, have now seen many Falangs now doing it, I always beep my horn when seeing this, but then the Falangs take this as road rage and respond with not very nice gestures, education from school level would be a big help for the next generation, but passing a motor bike test to start with would be a good idea

The Thai will always win, a few yrs ago a thai pedestrian ran across between traffic whilst on his phone knocked me and my girlfriend off my bike, thai was on floor still with phone in hand one eye open , saw it was Falange then started screaming, police and ambulance must have been waiting around the corner as they were there like a flash, police took my nil and would not give it back until I paid the thai, I was stupidly stuborn saying it was his fault, this went on for 6 weeks, cost of hiring a bike outweighed what I eventually paid him, when I questioned police they said it was my fault, as if I never came to Thailand the accident would not have happened, THE THAI WILL ALWAYS WIN

Should have read took my bike

Surely there must be more to this story ?

Whilst She went to the toilet , her Husband got attacked and then taken to Hospital and he got taken away by an ambulance by the time She got back and there was no sign of the attack ?

More like , they were drinking in the bar, had a disagreement , he stormed off and had an accident

Yes sounds very suspicious , you let your wife walk into a bar alone ( would you not sit in bar, have a beer maybe)  then in middle of Soi with many people about, some Thai guys pull a gun on you ,now the insurance company are not paying out until a full investigation , leg injury only?  Very strange, the Thai knockers are out in force, in London these things happen every day, but you never hear anyone say don't go to London it's too dangerous , for me I feel safer in Thailand on a Saturday night out than I do in the UK , in the 15 yrs I have been visiting I have never had or seen any problems and this guy gets mugged on the first day?

I can get a new one, or a new passport from a different country.

The question is will they know I am the same person? I do not mind changing my name on a different country passport (or the same country). How sophisticate are they anyway?

If I try to cross from a land border what is the worst that they can do if they find out?

All this talk about false passports changing names etc, have you ever been in a Thai jail?  You overstayed you obviously knew you overstayed, you must have known the penalties  for this , you done the crime now pay the fine
