I doubt whether there are any government statistics published about this but I believe that many foreigners have come across it. Thaksin is often criticised but was loved as he slowed this trend when bringing in the 30 baht health scheme as hospital costs were the main culprit. I had a gf whose family sold land and home to fund hospital costs for father. Another great guy refused to sell their house as he said he couldn't rest in death knowing his family were homeless. He got minimal health care. Buckets of tears in the telling.

The Lancashire Post said that he died of a heart attack and the family already had donations of £2,600. I sometimes wonder though if families have the funds but just prefer others to pay. For those who say that the man dodged insurance I am sure that is impossible in order to get a Thailand pass. Cremation/funeral here is not expensive. B10. 000 was the going rate around 2 years ago as I recall.

Thanks and thankfully I now have a new letter with my name on it. Still would like to know if this is the form to be uploaded to Thaipass for confirmation of hotel booking. -

After days of trying to book an asq hotel. Depart 13th. I have an invoice from the hotel and deadline of payment by today Thai time. They also send a confirmation letter. The problem is that whilst my email, Passport number etc are correct they have put somebody else's name on it. I'm thrashing around trying to get a peplacement. My very urgent question to anybody still here is. "Is this the letter that has to be uploaded to the thailand pass. If it is I'm reluctant to pay. Any info please. -

My Non "O" will run out. Expect to use a visa exempt to start again. Came across this from embassy website. Surely visa exempt can get the Thai pass? -
81? All of 4 companies on that asq. In.th (Thai est) site - Silver Wing, ACS, Tune and AXA have published statements there saying that the maximum age accepted is 74/5 (Silver Wing 69). I urgently need to return on a Non 0 (retirenentl) expiry 3 weeks. It seems that when "push comes to shove" 99 years old is a myth. Please anybody over 75 who has got this insurance please help and say from where. The old info gram tgia seems to have disappeared.

One thing isn't clear. The 1 night lower prices (Pattaya asq hotel) are around B4500 to B6.000. This includes test and transport from Suvarnabhum. If testing positive and having to stay, would the daily charge remain the same.? Rooms at these asq hotels are far cheaper on agoda normally and we don't go to the airport every day. I'm assuming we buy our own foods.

He's excellent. All based on hard data worldwide. Has a special interest in Asia as worked in Cambodia and I believe in India too. -
It will be OK. I found that the best site is thailandpass. go. th. its the Thai Embassy site. It says. "Must EXPRESSLY STATE it covers $50.000 in medical expenses INCLUDING covid 19. One good thing not mentioned is the need to prove and pay in advance for air flights. Maybe now it will be possible to receive the pass before booking flights. Ps. They add of course that the Thailandpass website is not yet up and running. - use the COE site.
