  1. Last October, based on my previous Covid-effected journey when all check-ins were in Domestic and then bag collection and another check-in at BKK, I went to Domestic but then had to walk to International - it's only a five-minute level walk and so no problem. Yes, I was on one ticket both times.
  2. I was in Thailand from October last year until a couple of weeks ago - no Covid restrictions but I carried two paper copies of my vaccination certificate anyway - things can change fast!
  3. Where were the parents/guardians? If they weren't around at the time of filming they certainly would have seen the finished movie.
  4. I think that you are supposed to be able to demonstrate that you have enough cash for your visit but, unless you look like a vagrant, this is never checked.
  5. No need for the LOL as you are merely stating the truth. This thread is primarily about Bangla and, in addition to Xylophones observations, I have also seen apparent Indians sharing drinks, sitting in bars without even buying a drink but thinking that they can grope the girls, and negotiating in a group with the freelancers. No, not all of them, and I agree that some are hi-so, but the bottom-feeders are noticable to anyone who frequents Bangla and the beach road.
  6. I've gone home to the UK for Xmas and NYE and am glad that I have - back soon though! Do the Indians haggle over everything? They even seem to make a meal of it at the ForEx kiosks.
  7. Maybe they've changed it? I've always gone to Zone A and have just checked and the LHR website still shows that as the Thai Airways check-in.
  8. The pub is right at the other end of the terminal - just a very scruffy and run-down Costa Coffee near the Thai check-in ☹
  9. I'm not trying to check-in online and I have no hold luggage, but thanks anyway!
  10. Thanks for the update - it looks like I'll have to get there early and queue then.
  11. I've been flying for fifty years, the majority from LHR, and not once have I had a carry-on weighed - but then again, I don't push my luck - unlike many other pax.
  12. Same here - nowadays I listen to the TV on headphones after 11pm as I have to have it cranked up so high on the speakers that it would annoy the neighbours.
  13. Can anyone that has flown LHR-BKK recently tell me if the self check-in stations in terminal 2 are operating - they were not on my last trip in October. I fly out in a couple of weeks I only have carry-on and am hoping to avoid the hassle of the check-in desks. Cheers.
  14. All good then! (Far quicker response than the ambulance service where i live)
  15. I don't think that Phuket is representative of Thailand - I spent a few days on Buriram a couple of years ago and can happily live without the "real Thailand". I know that Phuket is in essence a tourist colony, but it has everything that I am looking for (warmth, beaches, bars) and many parts of it are beautiful - in my eyes. I am at a comfortable stage in my life where I no longer have a bucket list of places to go or things to do. Also, having grown up in London, I now have zero interest in big cities (shopping, temples, architecture, cultural entertainment) and so there is nothing in Bangkok to attract me apart from the airport.
  16. Looking at the damage, at a very high speed!
  17. So, assuming (generously) that the average visitor spends B100,000 over New Year then that's a million tourists. I'm glad that I came home for a month!
  18. A few years ago I asked a bar manager from Pattaya why she moved to Phuket - "Because it's beautiful". A few weeks ago I asked a Pattaya go-go girl why she came to Phuket to FL - "Because the customers treat me better". I've never been to Pattaya and never will - it just doesn't tempt me. Having said that, I have never been to Bangkok apart from as a transit passenger for the same reason.
  19. Aussiebum are the new Speedos - and they are decidedly gay looking at the website!
  20. I'm coming for more than 75 but less than 90 days and so extending a VE45 would not give me enough - I'm trying to behave this time.
  21. PS: I received my latest TR60 E-visa a couple of hours ago, so clearly no issues.
  22. Because I bought my flights before I got the stamps in my passport - obviously!
  23. Thanks scubascuba - I also noticed that it was not red and so was not too concerned. Is Google Lens a character recognition app? That would be very handy.
  24. On my last visit I accidentally overstayed by one day. It seemed no big deal – at exit I was asked to report to desk #1 and the IO stamped my passport and then called over his supervisor to sign it off – I was not fined or given any verbal warnings. I’m hoping that this will not cause any problems as I think this is a common mistake - when I bought my flights I thought my arrival was day “0” whereas it is day “1” for immigration purposes. But I’m curious to get a translation of the lower stamp - can anyone help? Cheers.
