I just read on an embassy website that the Health Official at entry will decide length of quarantine.This is the same as happened in April. People at the airport will get a document stating what how long their quarantine will last. The interesting thing for me was when I checked into my hotel just before midnight on April 1, the hospital staff and hotel staff had never seen a 7 day stamp. Took about 36 hours to have the hotel confirm because they were waiting for an official response.

I'm thinking 60%. It should be 100% but unfortunately that's not the world we in.

Everything should be clear by 23:59 on Sep 30. Or maybe not everything... Back in April when they decided to cut quarantine from 14 to 7 days starting April 1, the details weren't clear until a couple of days before the 1st. Even then, they changed the 7 day (7 or 8 nights) rule and added the 18:00 time cutoff sometime around April 2 or 3.

My experience was not exceptional. Two people directly in front me received the shorter 7 day period. Then a person next to me had the same. There were many posts on here and other forums of people receiving the new shorter periods at the airport. Surprisingly, the entire process went very smoothly, especially considering it was put together less than a week before it launched. Maybe the fact that the entire process worked as well as it did was the exceptional part. Thai bureaucracy, Immigration, Health officials, airport workers, transportation and hotels all came together and did a GREAT job. Hope to see a repeat performance when I come back in 2 weeks.

Not exceptional, just went through the process. This isn't the first time you posted something that was wrong. It's OK because normal people make mistakes all the time but some people have a hard time admitting to their mistakes. Yes, I received a refund.

So Thai people can go to movie theaters, but if dirty vaccinated farangs want to fly into BKK, then they must be locked in their rooms for 7 nights. Unless they arrive after 18:00, then they must be locked up for 8 nights. Do the idiots in charge really expect farangs with money to apply for 10 year visas and put up with this lunacy? Wrong. I came in on April 1 and my COE which was issued 2 weeks earlier said 14 day Q. After they reviewed my quarantine cert at the airport, the health officer gave me a new form that stated that my Q was changed to 7 days. Anyone who came in March 30th had to do the 14 days.

Fingers crossed here also. I had to return to the US 5 weeks ago but will return to Bangkok in 2 or 3 weeks. Hoping for 7 days in Hua Hin but will take 7 days in Phuket. No way I'm going to do 14 days confined to a hotel room in Bangkok. 14 days roaming Phuket or doing a 7+7 is the limit for me. One good thing is that most people in the Phuket Sandbox are loving the much less crowded places.

I arrived on April 1st, which is the day the new program started. At the first processing stop received general paperwork with a 14 day stamp. At the 2nd stop they reviewed my vaccine cert and changed the quarantine period to 7 days. Took an extra day before the hotel officially received the info about 7 days. Covid insurance was always required for ASQ. Originally it was required for the entire length of permitted stay just like now. I came in April 1 (only had to do a 7 day Q) but my extension had expired so I only needed 45 days of insurance. I bought 90 days only because I knew that I would return to the US within that time and wanted the additional no-questions-asked coverage. I'm now in the US but planning on going back in early October. Since I now have a new annual extension valid until July, technically I'm supposed to buy coverage to last until then. However I plan to return to the US in late Dec or early Jan. I'll buy a return ticket for Dec and I'll see if I can get a COE based on a new 90 day policy.
