VISA (marriage) got to jump borders every 90 days. Extensions are only done inside Thailand.
Ok thanks for the info.

For the marriage extension I'm wondering why people are worrying about income and bank proof. I thought was possible to do a marriage extension at HCMC or Savanaket without the need to prove income or is that only after the initial application for marriage extension?

Is there anywhere you can get a METV apart from in your own country? Tia

Just done the same in HCMC, was a breeze 1st in the que, out in under 5mins, picked up the next day again out in under 5 mins.
I find HCMC better for the run more to do and see also better hotels.
Was the paperwork list identical for HCMC?

Your friend doesn't need to visit the embassy in London. Not sure why he was told this. Information on the UK Thai embassy site hasn't changed regarding postal applications as of 6/4/19

Different consulates have different rules. A few years ago I needed to show the money to be in my o/seas current account for min. 3 months, and it had to be a "working" a/c. This was Munich consulate. They did check i.e. docs were sent to Thai embassy for approval. Out of interest, look at requirements by Thai consulates in different countries. This will show you that there is not "one fits all" rule. Supply the docs the consulate at your point of application asks for.
Good to know thanks for the advice.

Hi guy's, this was the exact question I was looking for yesterday but on the UK application it states that you need the funds in your account for at least 6 months for the metv as well as the employment letter. Is that the same in the US? Just wondering if they check the date of deposit on the funds? Tia
