My business is mainly furniture import from Thailand. The business has some great perspectives and breakthrough success could come soon and bring the option (money) to make more business.
So to expand the business I am looking at some new ideas for businesses in Thailand.
When I was back in Thailand first time (1999) since being adopted to Denmark (1976) it looked like a place where oppotunities just waited to get explored.
If I return to Thailand for a longer period it should be to make new jobs or something constructive.
I can't drink like as much now as when I was younger...

I just arrived in Denmark after a fortnight in LOS, doing a business trip to Bkk and Chiang Mai.
I am born in Thailand so naturally my heart stays in Thailand.
When the plane landed in Copenhagen Intl. Airport it felt like a heavy blanket fell on my shoulders. With the crummy weather and the unwelcoming rude attitude folks here have towards each other, I wanted to get a plane right back.
And I will go back asap.
Do you folks have the same feeling when arriving from a trip/stay from Thailand ?
If I wasn't building a business in Denmark I would be looking at the option of setting up a new life in LOS !

Brother Tony, in a free world we have freedom of speech.
In Thailand as elsewhere there are few exceptions to this, exceptions we all can live with.
I think you are abusing thai tolerance towards falang and you absolutely fail to understand the Thai way of carrying yourself in public.

Begging is an undignified occupation and should be used as a last resort in a desperate situation.
I don't mind helping those who cannot work or fend for themselves. In my next life or later in this one I might find myself on hard times and would like someone to help me if truly needed.
Buying a meal for a beggar is how I and most Thai I know would choose to help out. And giving more than 20 Baht is out of the question.

Hi guys
I bought this watch online and I am very pleased with it but I am a little confused by the function served by the watch face. From what I have read, it is a simple world time and its also a compass
Now I know I can rotate the outer (inner) ring with the uppermost bezel and I can also see the N S E W markings but I have no idea as to how all of this works as world time and compass with all the other confusing numbers elsewhere on the watch
Can anyone give me an explanation please
Thanks
JAF
Didn't it come with a manual?
I'm not sure, never been a boy scout, but if you look in the direction of the sun at 12:00 you are facing north. Then turning the ring marked "N" to 12, you should know where north is????

Normal Thai salaries go around 200 a day so is he suckering other tourists?
The Thais who can afford to use the Skytrain will typically earn better salaries than that.
To all: Please keep the thread free from flaming and profanities.
As we all know there is a huge gap between rich and poor in Thailand.
I know many factory workers who makes around 200 for 8 hours work.
This is another topic.
To repeat my question: Who do you guys think would buy that guys sob story and thus fork out money?

I was just wondering.
Being on dutch dole and begging in Thailand? That is soo wrong.
This guy actually works on the turf of the Thai begging racketeers. He should count himself lucky that he hasn't been severely beaten up or killed by now.
-
If that guy can take in 1000 baht a day, who'd you think gives him money?

I hope the Imm do some effort to rid LOS of these farang moochers.

Painting your house in a weird colour sceme makes it easy to spot if you come home drunk.

This doesn't look good for Mr. Minning.
If you're a foreign criminal you don't want this to happen. Hope he gets some justice. Thai style.
He should count himself lucky there isn't an "attempted police murder" charge on the list.

Being an non-smoker I like these laws, but hey the real problem with smog in Bkk won't change, eh?
Now, imagine the BIB fining you near these signs for smoking... NIce...

Talk about losing face, big time

Visiting KSR in 1999 was different than now.
I think it's a great place for people watching.
The main attraction is that it's a combined meeting place, travel hub and a "link to home" for backpacker farangs.
They got a taste of home now, a Burger King.
My thai ex-gf who's been there a lot thinks it's a crap place, she thinks it's like a "farang zoo".
She hates Burger King too...

Hello friend
Get her a VCD playing device from wherever possible (Thailand, her family, online shop), try to google places like pricerunner.com or likewise.

All the Thai ladies I know thinks he's been good for Thailand

As a Thai I think Thaksin will lose face as bad as can be if he doesn't return to Thailand.
The TRT party will also lose face.
But hey money make up for a lot...

My ex-gf asked me that "if I'm so loaded, why did I wear such shoddy clothes?"
So to her, me wearing casual outfits and blending in with the locals seemed like the wrong thing to do.
Showing wealth and status through dressing up might make her look better too?
My own explanation is that I don't want to look like a pile of money, ready to be picked and ripped off.

Where can I buy Dr Martens in Bangkok?
Best footwear around for sure.
-
Off time: Sandals
Work: Shoes - change socks every day and it's no problem
Motorcycling: Boots or basketball shoe + socks

She's welcome to protest in front of my house anytime!
But how do you reckon the Thai looks at this? "Stupid Farang"? Or just a photo-op for the local press?

Pick option 3.
US immigration play 100% by the rules, any errors can end up being used to block entry in the US. And they tend to have the most irritated staff at the airports.
Worst case scenario: Your wife is denied entry upon arrival at a US port and sent back over the pacific. Not a good thought, right ?

Oct. 12 is my birthday.
I wish you the best of luck in Oz

Hi everybody seems to be jumping to conclusions.
If that guy entered Thailand four weeks ago and the murders has just been discovered, the computer systems in Thailand would not have him marked up as a wanted suspect/witness.

I have been home less than a week and I'm now thinking about digging up the funds to go to Thailand in the fall or over X-mas/new year...
(I'm not going to sell my business as it has the potential to make 50K baht profit a day if I get it where I want to...)
