Do you have to provide them with evidence like a cancelled flight ticket or can you just dream up a semi-believable story and get the letter that way?
I`ve seen it written that you have to have proof of a cancelled ticket and also proof of a new booking after Sept 26th to satisfy immigration.

Working?? I don't think so. Not now anyway. Most of us considering these are just here due to covid without any good options of alternative places to go, and not many alternatives to extend our stay.
I certainly would have no desire to work here. And anyone who did want to work would teach english and could easily have the school get a non-B visa.
Ummm, yes, do you think only school teachers work here? Or do all these people live on fresh air? Wake up lol

Most people applying for these volunteer visas are working which is against the rules of the visa, hence why they will pay the ridiculous price.

I thought that was immigration's message, not the govt who actually decide the policy.
If people want to wait for another version I guess it`s up to them, time is running short to acquire any visa and flights will be filling up and seats getting more expensive, everyone knows the risks of overstay.
According to the officials, the extension of Thai visa amnesty would give foreigners sufficient time to extend their Thailand visas or organize their return to their home country as Thailand eases restrictions in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Foreigners whose visas expired after March 26, 2020, will not be charged 500 baht per day for overstaying. However, if they will not get an extension and will still be in the country after September 26, they risk legal actions and being blacklisted. Thai immigration urged foreigners to contact their offices as soon as possible to prepare their next moves and avoid overcrowding as the September 26 deadline approaches. The granting of a short-stay visa will be done on a case-by-case basis.

well they should tell people now instead of waiting until the 11th hour after many would have already left or booked very expensive flights, I see a difference almost daily and know of quite a few that have left these last 10 days
I don't quite understand the thinking, they are crying out for tourists and yet are forcing those already here and willing to stay to leave, hard to make any sense of that unless all they want are a stupid few that will come and pay bt10,000 a night in a quarantine hotel
Uhh, they have already told you, be prepared to leave on the 26th September if you don`t have a visa or a letter from your embassy stating a reason for exemption, could it be any clearer?

I work out there's another 7 weeks before the amnesty gets extended/expires.
A new visa wont appear in your passport overnight, if it were me I would start preparing my documentation now. I am in the process of renewing my driving licence, normally done on the day, now I have to wait 6 weeks for an appointment.

Anyone on amnesty better start preparing to leave or getting a new visa pretty much this week. Once on overstay if your picked up the penalties are pretty harsh including blacklisting.

You're making loaded assumptions about people who have chosen to remain in Thailand on amnesty. Being one of them, let me tell you two things: Firstly, I don't need to work, neither at home nor in Thailand. So it would be pointless for me to go home to find a job. Secondly, I have insurance and my insurance covers COVID-19 in Thailand, which I specifically confirmed with my insurance company.
Maybe Thai immigration shares your concerns, but they did nothing to address them. Before the first amnesty was announced, they asked people in need of a special extension to get silly embassy letters, landlord documents and to take a set of photos at their residence. They didn't ask for proof of funds to remain or proof of insurance. Go figure.
So you don`t need to work, guess you are in the process of obtaining your Elite Visa then, no...thought not.

Just looked it up on maps. It's not on main. Soi Buakao as Farangs know it. It's called Buakao 15 and connects second road with Soi Buakao which passes the Mercure hotel.
Wow, I just checked, someone told me about that place months ago. They set up a little open stall at the side of the bar/restaurant and people were coming and going all day. That`s how it stayed open with no customers ever in the place.

Lots got stung by agents before the last amnesty. Pressured into getting a visa a month or more before the due date and then of course another amnesty extension announced and 25k down the drain, rinse and repeat.

I said a few weeks ago a lot of these people now on amnesty will now not be insured and I was berated for it. This guy found out the hard way, and insured or not no helmet is just stupid, another acting the cool guy that found out concrete and metal are harder than his head. Good luck to him he has a hard road ahead and if he was a boiler room scammer then karma has come knocking.

It means you have to apply in person, if your on a tourist visa it`s time to go home unless you can prove that your stranded. All other cases will be on an individual basis and the time is to allow them all to sort the appropriate visa out. That`s my understanding of this proposal.

The computer says “No”.... so many flights are being cancelled, it’s a lottery trying to book a flight which will prolly get.... you guessed it, cancelled and there you are, waiting for your refund that’s floating around somewhere in cyberspace
https://aot-portal.kdlab.dev/bkk
The computer says I can get a flight to London tomorrow with EVA and that my friend flew out with Quatar this week on a virtually empty plane, nobody from Europe is `stranded`

How’s everyone supposed to get out when there’s hardly any flights leaving because there’s hardly any international flights arriving?
Loads leaving to Europe everyday and often half empty, easy to get a flight sometime in the last 4 months.
-
Looks like if your `stranded` on a tourist visa it`s time to go home unless you can prove that you cant, thats the proposal, all others considered on a case by case basis.
-
My friend went back to UK a few days ago via Helsinki, he had the whole row to himself, flight virtually empty and not because of Covid limits.

Bored of those "there are no flights out" arguments. Sure, their are specific regulations to every country, but for Europe it`s 0 problem to fligh back! Just Qatar flies 2x daily out of BKK and then from DOH to all major European cities 1-2x per day.
Checked Expertflyer yesterday and for my flight there are actually me + 2 others booked in Business Class and around 20 in Economy.
I understand that it`s comfortable to say " i need the amnesty, as there are no flights", but for Europe it`s just not the truth! Everyone who books now a flight for the next 10-14 days to Europe, has basically 0 risk to get it cancelled. The airlines still flying adapted to it, and won`t cancel out of nothing (like it happened back in April/May)
EVA fly every Sunday direct to London, no problems getting to the UK, there`s plenty of flights, nobody from the UK is stranded. I think all applicants will now have to appear in person at immigration and those with the correct papers and proofs to live here will be extended. All those still here on tourist visas are by now uninsured and should have gone home or at least have a ticket out, maybe they will get 7 days or be lucky enough to get another amnesty.

The solution if you cannot withdraw your cash from wallet is to contact customer service. I have done so this morning and they have sent me a form in which I have to provide invasive photos of both my passport and bank account. It`s hardly a money laundering procedure as this is my first ever return and for the grand total of 1,300 Baht, more a gathering of my personal information.

What I think is that you clicked the activate button instead of the amount displayed in your screenshot.
Of course if you click activate, it will take you to the activate screen.
Another option is to click on the returns/refunds button at the top of your screenshot, then scroll down to the refunded item and click on the refunded tab, next screen click on check my wallet, next screen click on the available balance, and the following screen click on withdraw.
But obviously in your app it is different from other foreigners apps, so you can start a chat with Lazada tomorrow, and they will tell you the exact same as I have told you in previous post.
In fact they will refer you to this page
What I think is that you clicked the activate button instead of the amount displayed in your screenshot.
No your wrong, the outcome is the same as clicking on activate, both offer to send you a code to your phone which then denies you as a foreigner.
My app is the same as everyone else`s and the link assumes you have an already activated wallet, which I dont, . None of these solutions work, thanks for your help, but your wrong. The only solution appears to be to contact support and have them transfer the money, what a palava.

I had the same problem earlier this year. I contacted the support, they told me that I couldn't use the wallet. They offered to transfer the money to my Thai bank account.
That is what I will have to do again! Why after talking to me before on the phone and knowing I`m a farang they have put it in this useless wallet instead of back to my credit card I don`t know.
-
What do you think I did? I stated above when I tried to activate the wallet a code was sent to my phone, when I entered the code I was presented with a screen that asked Thai or Foreigner, at this stage I was denied as I am a foreigner. There is a screenshot above.

There is an activate button on mine, and no other option, this is the app and the website is no different, as a foreigner I cannot access this money, it wasn`t my choice for the refund to go to wallet I wanted it direct to my card with which I paid as I have never used this wallet.

No it is not.
Under the amount there is a big button that says withdraw, you just click on it, fill in your bank details, and a few days later it is in your account
No, because as a foreigner I cannot activate the wallet so have no access to the money, all I can see is an activate now button. When I try to activate it sends a code to my phone, when I type in the code as a foreigner I cannot even activate the wallet.
