Scam email about Bangkok bank account closure.
It is an absolute fact, hundreds or even more of foreigners, including me, get their accounts blocked. In some cases, it is said that it is only those who have a short time visa that are affected, but that is not true. I have a one-year visa and have had both that and an account on Bangkok Bank for the last 13 years, and I was indeed affected. However, it looks like if you are having a marriage visa, you will not be affected. You can read about it at; https://www.facebook.com/groups/destinationthailandvisa/posts/2171900389999572/

Scam email about Bangkok bank account closure.
No scam! The fact is that about a moth ago Bangkok Bank stopped all foregniers account without telling it before. I who was a customer at the bank went to an ATM on the Friday evening to take out 5000 Baht from my account and get the message, " You have not enough money on your account". I looked at my Bangkok Bank App and it tell that I had more than 40 000 baht at the account. I went to another ATM and tried to get 5000 Baht, and get the same answer. I went in to a 7/11 and tried to buy some food for less than 300 Baht, same answer. On the Monday after I went to Bangkok Bank on Klang, it was filled with foreigners. I had to wait about five hours before it was my time. I told the clerk that it is something wrong with my ATM-card I could not use ATM. It is no problem wit your ATM-card she said, but we need you to come here with a new copy of your hosebook or Certifikate of Recidence. Come back with that tomorrow and we open your account again. I could not I said, my landlord is in Italy and not come back until November 17. Ok, then you could not get you money before that she said I need the documents. You are wrong I said, you will give me my money within 5 minutes, I close my account. I did and get my money. The story is not over with that. My landlord succeed to send me athe documents for get a "Certificate of living" and I went to immigration and asked for one. What for she asked. opening a bank account I answered. What bank she asked, anyone except Bangkok bank I answered. Ok, What about the "yellow" bank she asked. Ok, it would be fine. I went to the "yellow" bank and when it was time for me I showed my papers and said, I want to open a bank account. Ok she said and took copies of my documents. I call you whenit is ready, she finished . This was on a Monday. When Friday comes and she still not have called, I went to the bank and said, hey you have not called me. I recognice you she said, took up my documents, looked at her calender and said., It will be finished about 1 month from now, I call you then. On my way back home I went in to Kasikorn Bank and said, I just want to ask how long it will take to open a bank account? If your papers are ok, about 15 - 20 minutes. I went back the day after and it worked just as they had said, less than 20 minutes.

Hearing Aids in Pattaya/Bangkok
Maybe they do, but I have not find it as a big problem yet. Even if they use slang I understand so much that I can ask them to explain if needed. It also could depend on the age and education of the people you listen to. But I should admit that there could be some understanding problems when listening to people from Isaan as they speak a kind of Laos dialect (If they not speak Thai). But not really any big problem so far.

Hearing Aids in Pattaya/Bangkok
I have the same problem as you, hearing loss. I went to the shop at Klang, but it was closed for one month at that time. I found another one in Jomtien and went there to talk to them. They suggested a Danich model, that including test would cost around 40 000 Baht. I decided to instead buy a pair from Lazada for about 700 Baht. They worked very good, but it was still a problem. Even if I could hear what people said, many of them speak Thai so the solution was not quite right for me as I don´t understand Thai. Back to Lazada and bought a translator that include an app for the phone and what looks like an earphone connected to the phone through Bluetooth. It cost about 12000 Baht and the translation is read in the "earphone with a few seconds delay. Thie combination of translator in one ear and hearing aid in the other works perfect for me.

Another big scam
I can afford it, it is not about that. Imagine this. You go into a shop, see something that you need or want to buy. The price is set to 300 baht. You think that is well worth it, and put it in your basket. When you come to the cashier, you see that he has put the price at 467 baht. When you ask why, the cashier says, "The price is 300 baht, but you have to pay me 167 baht extra or you won't get it". Would you just accept that? Up to you, but I still think it is a scam.

Another big scam
I don't complain about the low airfare tickets. I complain that I have to pay more than half of the two ticket prices to pay for them.

Another big scam
Next week I am going to Ubon (the candle festival). I live in Pattaya, so getting there by bus was no choice. Instead, I looked for cheap flight tickets. I found one on Viet jet. 1200 baht for a ticket to Ubon and back to Bangkok a couple of days later. I started ordering the ticket. After I had filled in the flight dates and times, I got a question: did I want a special seat (that would cost extra)? I did not fill it in (the answer no was not a possibility). Then I get a new question: Do you want a meal? As before, I did not fill it in as this question, like the other, could not be answered with a no. Then I got a third question, and that was how I would like to pay. They gave three choices, and within the time limit they gave I only had one choice: Pay on 7/11. Then came the scam. It will cost me more than 700 Baht extra to pay at 7/11. That is more than half of the price for the tickets from Bangkok to Ubon and back again! Have you ever heard of something like that before? So Viet Jet, I will fly with you this time, but never again, because I do not like to feed scammers.

To all you Trump fans - Do you wear your MAGA hats with pride in Thailand?
Can you please explain how the “richest country in the world” can have a larger national debt than GDP? Borrowed money is not its own money, as you and Trump seem to believe. The US needs friends.

Nigerian Man Arrested Over Online Prostitution Scheme
On ThaiFriendly 5 out of 10 messages offer sex for money (ST/LT). But that is of course Thai women that offer that, maybe other rules for those, I do not know.
