Our family dentist recommended a specific dental surgeon at NP International Dental Clinic for our daughter. She received her implant back in January and will have the crown fitted later this month when she returns from university in the US.  I'll dig out the name of the dentist and will DM you. He also practices at Chula and another major hospital, if I recall correctly.

I am not sure that price would hold from 8 years ago.

It was a post and screw implant, after a bone graft done immediately after the extraction. The bone graft material was a Swiss product, the dentist said it was better quality than Chinese graft material.

The dentist was practising at Elite Smile, on the corner of Pantip Plaza in Chiang Mai. They may have moved now.

    Thank you

The best bone grafts are Swiss, Chinese material is inferior. That may explain some of the price variation. In Chiang Mai, my three implants were 55,000 baht each.

A quality implant takes time. Rapid implants have a failure rate of 40-50%. Good ones, less than 5%.

Im my case, after allowing an extraction to heal for six weeks, the bone graft material was laid in and the implant post screwed into my jaw. Come back in 3 months. Final stage was installing the cap on the post.

I had mine about 7 or 8 years ago, no problems afterwards.

    The

That sounds like a good price. What dentist did you use? Also what type of implantc was it.  Thank you in advance.

I also got rejected because I am a permanent resident (PR) with no visa.

After reviewing your registration, it can not be further processed due to lack of required visas.

Please note that this registration platform is ONLY for foreign residents in Thailand and are not Thai nationality.

I am a PR too I just provided an expired copy of a non-quota immigrant Visa.

  6. Contacts special Branch Police.  They are on the super highway near those telecommunication towers  past Big c. it's the second building from the front. Upstairs on your right as you reach the stairs at the very end.  Bring all your documents.  The officer handling applications is very friendly and diligent.  Once all your documents are in order then he'll have you fill out an application and give you an interview on the spot.

Yes people have gotten citizenship here in Chiang Mai but it's not easy as in Bangkok.

I'm going through the process now if you have any questions.

I registered as PR on this expatvac site and put in my passport number. Incidentially, my passport is brand-new and the number is not in the Thai immigration system. I have also registered at two other vaccination sites, using only my Thai ID number.

Interesting I'm also a PR and have a brand new passport.  The first time I tried to register there was no drop-down menu for permanent residents.   Luckily they added it a few hours later.  So just like you I'm not on any Thai system with my new passport.  I guess if they're checking their system my name should show up properly with the correct date of birth.

Well done.  Do you mind sharing the link or instructions how to get the LINE App you mention in order to register.

    Many thanks

Add the line group หมอพร้อม it's all in thai so you may need someone to help you if you can't read thai.

For ID number I entered the ID number at the bottom of my driver's license.

I'm have permanent residence so that may be a factor of My success but I have heard people with pink id cards doing the same thing.

Also:  What is your PSA, by the way?  That is why you think you need a scan (needle biopsy or mp MRI), right?  Don't waste your time with a needle biopsy...that's ancient.  mpMRI is highly accurate.  Also needle biopsies were prone to 1% patients who got an infection, in which case it's very nasty.  Keep in mind the 52k price at Bumrungrad.  My urologist doctor at Bumrungrad, by the way, was...let's just say I will never go back to him.  We almost got into a shouting session.  Ha!  I really like the other doctors I have had at that hospital.  I was diagnosed with PCa 15 years ago, went 11 years of Active Surveillance, then had targeted cryo ablation.  I chose the wrong doctor there at Bumrungrad.  My mistake.  He had no fellowships at any American hospitals nor other reputable places (Germany, S Korea), like almost all the other doctors did.  Enough said.  Good luck.

Thank you for the very useful information.

My PSA level was 8.2 and my local doctor wanted to do a needle biopsy.

Luckily I refused basically because the size of my prostate was double the size of a regular prostate by volume.

Which would make it normal for the PSA level to be 8 or so. Also the fact that my dad had a similar trajectory at my age he now has a PSA of 13.

I ended up trying finisteride and after about three to four months my PSA level went down to around 4.

Note that I didn't take the regular dose of 5mg of finasteride instead I took .2 mg and still got the same good result.

I didn't see this. I only saw the donation at a temple. Which part of the moat is this?

    P. Massage is not on the moat they are near the night bazar you can look them up on google maps.  As to where they actually gave out the food, I am not sure what part of the moat it is I guess just follow the video.  A friend did say near the Chinese Consulate.

Not a temple.  I saw the video of people queing around the moat. https://www.sanook.com/news/8081874/I then contacted the person behind the private effort to give out food.  He would not take money so I brought him a trunk full of food. delivered at P. Massage house.  There were a bunch of people there packing food to be handed out today I think.

  12. I think all these new rules are quite sensible under the circumstances.  I flew on air asia a few weeks ago and they were already leaving the middle seat empty.  Most planes are 3x3x3 seating.  So that is only 1/3 loss of seating which should only result in 1/3 increase in price.  I personally don't think they will increase prices as they are trying to get their customers back.

Me too. How do you know when the filter needs replacement? Is there something in the machine counting its hours used, or measuring amount of contaminate accumulated? Otherwise, I guess I'll just replace at the beginning of every new burn season...

If you use the app it will tell you how many hours are left on the filter.

when purchasing new filters I recommend you purchase the black gray ones the new ones h13 which means they filter out Much finer particles.

    1. Dr. Sittiporn is at Siriraj. He is on the faculty there. He also does private practice at Bumrungrad etc but Siriraj is his main affiliation. Maybe they were checking a database of doctors who toutinely work in the orivate wing. Just tell them firmly that he is an acharn at Siriraj and they should be able to arrange an appointment. Others have done so.

    2. As explaine oreviously, while hospitak can certainly give you a CD to take away, it cannit be used by your urologist in CM unless he us soecially trained in it which I much doubt.

I agree that my urologist would not be able to do anything with it, for example a guided biopsy.

but I'm assuming that the results are written by the radiologist and the doctor explains the results to me.

Of course if there is cancer then I would not do anything in chiang Mai. I would either fly back to Bangkok or USA.

    Flights to Bangkok are cheap

it doesn't make sense to wait around.

also talking to the staff there they said it was pretty easy to have the MRI on the same day and have the doctor review the results.

Get it at Bumrungrad then use the results to have fusion guided biopsy in the US total price will not be super cheap but if anything is missed and biopsy done that’s not fusion guided by MRI if it shows something and one just has traditional biopsy done while surgeon uses ultrasound much can be missed . Why take that risk especially if PSA has climbed over the years and is over 4 or 5 . I know little but the MRI done right and if needed fusion guided biopsy using that MRI as the map for the biopsy is big advancement . I know little but this information is almost mainstream now . Get the MRI at Bumrungrad then send results to the states so a well experienced surgeon who does fusion guided biopsy can advise . If you show the MRI to urologist here possibly their existence with MRI examination and fusion guided biopsy from mri is almost nothing .

I'm going to the States in two or three months would it be just better to have it all done over there?

Ask for appt with Prof. Dr Sittiporn Srinualad

Thank you for the helpful links and your very good Advice.

I called Siriraj hospital about the Tesla 3.0 MRI for prostate scan.  While they do have the Tesla 3.0 MRI, they informed me that they only use the Tesla 1.5 for for prostate MRI scans because it give a better image than the 3.0.

    That's very confusing.

The price quoted was 15-18K (Chiang mai is 25K)

I asked about Dr Sittiporn Srinualad, they could not find his name in the database.

A google search shows him working at Bumrungrad and Mahidol.

I called Samitivej Hospital and they do use the Tesla 3.0 MRI for a prostate scan with color contrast.

The cost is 19K for the MRI plus 7000 for the color contrast.  This includes the cost of the radiologist giving results.  But I would need a doctors orders to get a scan.

They gave me the impression that I could just take the radiologist results and CD back to Chiangmai and my urologist could explain the findings.
