  1. Khaosod on Twitter says 20 PTP MPs and 30 MFP MPs have been approached to switch sides and join the junta. https://twitter.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1680778548355960833
  2. Saw a Thai reporter on Twitter asking Chuwit to contact the senators' mistresses and tell their wives.
  3. Maybe something to that. The generals want to keep their de facto alliance with Russia going. Doesn't get more blatant than this:
  4. "Senator X only sells the very best Chinese made EVs. Don't forget! And thank you, Senator X for abstaining in your PM vote!"
  5. Prawit going to be put up against Pita according to PTP next round, says Khaosod. It's a marvel to watch Mr. T at work. He's almost back in the saddle again. https://twitter.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1679763656471609344
  6. From the sad emoji, I can guess that there is at least one Internations member out there. Neck beard and craft beer at the ready, although a few years on, I bet he can no longer fit into his skinny jeans.
  7. Yes, a person's heart eventually stops beating when you dismember them.
  8. Even in exile, Mr. T continues to dance in circles around every other political party and politician. Will he cross the Rubicon and return?
  9. Same guy, according to CNA's Bangkok reporter: Senator Somchai on attempts to reform the monarchy: “Don’t copy everything from the Westerners that you forget Thainess. We’re all yellow faces that they call us 2nd-class citizens. You’re not a global citizens with long noses, pale skin and great height.” https://twitter.com/SaksithCNA/status/1679398206877360134
  10. Yes, I would think, because the reason given voting against MFP would not apply to PTP. Opposition would need to come up with something compelling to not look like mere obstructionists.
  11. Pita has been incompetent in the post election period. But I must say the senators are also looking bad, here. The least they should have done is orchestrate it so that MFP got some votes, instead of looking like a monolithic bloc indifferent to everything but their own interests. Really badly played, IMO.
  12. People in debt up to their eyeballs. They can't go one or two days without work and a paycheck, much less two weeks.
  13. Yes, I was out of my house for three months, because big Ag in Nakhon Pathom arranged to protect themselves by redirecting the flood into Phutthamonthon. Rice pledge was poorly administered but not a bad idea. At least I didn't wake up half the year with PM2.5 air in the danger zone. And did I just see on Saksith Saiyasombut's Twitter that some guy from BJT just said something about proposing a law that would allow people (I guess just anybody) to shoot those who insult the you know what?
  14. Back when I had a Facebook account, I used to see Internations advertisements all the time. I cannot imagine a group of people who I would want to avoid more than these guys. Hipsters clinking white wine glasses.
  15. Compared to what's going on right now, Yingluck's government looks like Periclean Athens.
  16. This is right out of the PRC playbook. Next we'll be seeing unobtrusive groups of men hanging around with umbrellas at the ready.
  17. Candidate for attitude readjustment after the next coup.
  18. Just like most Thai media outsourced their coverage of foreign affairs to Xinhua a few years ago, the Thai police can outsource their immigration operations to the PRC.
  19. Thaksin is one smart cookie. And he knows how to make money, not only for himself but for Thailand as well. I'm just an observer of things. But it's clear that Mr. T is the only visionary Thai politician in the past 30 or more years.
  20. And why shouldn't they? They are competent and actually know what they're doing. Who the heck was advising Pita and MF? Whoever it was should never work in politics again.
  21. Totally outmaneuvered by the old order. Pita is incompetent--at politics. Were he to gain office, would he continue to blunder? How subtle/smart was it to publicly announce he was going after Prayuth before he was in power? His party can still make a major impact. But they need to do it as the junior partner of Pheu Thai. PTP know the game, the ropes, how to bring pressure to bear and know when to funnel it in the right direction. MF so far is just an uncontrolled mass in the streets without direction. That sort of thing will fade out quickly.
  22. It's always possible that his successor, whomever that may be, could make things worse. Would everyone prefer Anutin? Prawit? Does Pita look all that competent in light of the "media shares" fiasco? My only interest in Thai politics is the hope that whoever is in charge just leaves Immigration alone and doesn't change anything. Otherwise, I just want a safe trip to Foodland and back and an easy walk around the village.
  23. Yet, as has been said many times before, this entire situation need never have happened. Pita put his own head in the noose. He should have disposed/distanced himself from the "media shares" as soon as he entered politics. To still be holding something that could be manipulated against him was simply foolish.
