Do you think a Ice tracking app should be available publicly…
John Drake replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
So station ICE agents strategically in a designated area and have them file reports that herd the illegals to a collection point. -

John Drake replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
If that is the case, then I would expect that quite soon those opposed to the app can simply hijack it and flood it with false sightings. Pretty soon, you'll have illegals scurrying around afraid to go and afraid to stay. It'll be turned against them. -
Will you be using Trumps new line of perfumes for men?

Or just plain "eww!' -
Without Musk's work in space projects, the US loses to China. Would you rather rely on Boeing and Nasa. Both are incompetent. Space is the one area where Musk does well. SpaceX and Starlink versus Trump University, Trump Wine, Trump casinos, Trump steaks, Trump cologne, and Trump reality TV. Not difficult to see which one has more value.

Degrade the dollar and run up record debt. Sounds like the same successful formula that bankrupted his casinos. Trump loves bankruptcy. That's why he goes into it so often. And now he's taking the US to the same place.

When I saw this topic, I thought it was a joke. But it's authentic. Trump is such a lowlife conman. -
2025 SSA Form 7162 - "Hello, are you dead yet?" forms.
John Drake replied to connda's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
I wonder about this, because one of Elon Musk's "reforms" was to prevent SSA from doing any sort of application, change, or verification over the phone. The new requirement was for people to make an appointment and visit their nearest SSA office, which for us, of course, would be Manila. Oops. Never mind, I guess. Just saw this: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/social-security-abandons-phone-service-cuts-after-backlash-2025-04-09/ Hope that is true. -
Report Thai Woman's Bold Demand for 1 Million Baht Sparks Online Debate

Most honest woman in Thailand. -
No, they can't. Just a month ago, I won one of the minor prizes. Just the 2000 on the two numbers. Stopped by the agent. Wouldn't pay. Went to Krungthai bank, who is supposed to do small payouts, and they said the lottery was for Thais only and refused to pay out. I asked the bank to call the lottery office, which they did, and then they told me that I could get the 2000 but I would need to go to the main office to collect--a mere 90km roundtrip journey for me.

Prayuth handled Covid better than just about every Western country. Those of us in Thailand retained more freedom and mobility than did Americans or most Europeans. He also left Immigration pretty much untouched and stable, which is important to me. He didn't put a tax on overseas income or remittances. And anyone who remembers right before 2014, when reds and yellows were throwing ping pong bombs and drive-bys were starting to occur, or even earlier in 2010, when the city center burned, then they'll realize he also stabilized social unrest and may have prevented a civil war.

It's cheap labor, which is what Trump wants, in addition to a cheap dollar. Connect some dots. Trump wants non-enforcement of immigration laws for ag and hospitality workers. Why? Although more than a sufficient number of visas are available, employers would be forced to pay legal visa holding workers more money. It also explains why the Republicans, John Thune from a farm state, worked to hoodwink people on the proposal to strip medicaid from illegals. Farm state Republicans want their farmers to put the cost of illegal alien health care onto taxpayers. That's why Thune didn't fight the parliamentarian's stripping of that part of the bill from the BBB. When it's all said and done, the BBB will only have one main element left intact: tax cuts for billionaires.

Yep. When Trump say that's the way it's going to be, then that's the way it's going to be. Except for here, and here, and here. President Donald Trump said in an interview on Fox News that the administration is working to develop a temporary pass for immigrants who work in certain industries, which would mark the latest shift in the administration’s approach to immigration enforcement for farmworkers https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/trump-administration-working-temporary-pass-immigrants-farm-industries-rcna215806

Any of those parents seeking work will now find it more difficult to do so as Trump once again has come out in favor of an amnesty for illegal aliens in agriculture (one of his big donors) and hospitality (in which he himself owns properties). Hospitality, in particular, would be a good job source but Trump is both making citizens compete with foreigners for those jobs and, as a result, chase down wages even further.
