  1. Iceland has halted use outright, and I read Sweden is in the process of following suit. https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/iceland-halts-moderna-covid-19-vaccine-over-heart-inflammation-fears/2387646.
  2. You meant there won't be any outbreaks, like in the UK, Germany, Israel, Gibraltar and Mongolia, where 85%-95% or adults are inoculated?
  3. From what i read, the PCR test is flawed by nature (they're for DNA analysis while viruses are RMA) and won't reveal incubations, so statistically speaking, tourists are bound to import cases. Regardless, I say open the country. Covid is yet another viral disease we have to deal with.
  4. The number of deaths is usually a function of quality of treatment. For example, in Mongolia, the number of deaths is on the rise, while the number of cases is declining. In Israel, it’s the reverse. All in all, despite the mass hysteria, Covid is not particularly lethal in relative terms. Take Thailand: since the inception of the pandemic, 18,486 people have lost their lives to the disease, while around 825,000 died all together. Put differently, Covid has contributed around %2.2 to the country's overall mortality.
  5. The protection level peaks at 2 months and nearly vanishes after 6 months.
  6. %97.7 of adults in Waterford Ireland are fully vaccinated, and yet cases of Covid are exploding; the highest in the country. Singapore (85% of adults), Israel (80%), Mongolia (80%) and many other intensely vaccinated countries are suffering from outbreaks. Do you think Thailand can escape that fate?
  7. The nMRA and viral vector vaccines only produce a minute sequence of the virus (the spike itself). Once the virus mutates, by way of altering that small sequence, the virus breaks through. That's the exact reason the Delta variant is successful in evading the existing vaccines -- its spikes are different enough from the Alfa and Beta strains, to which the vaccines have been originally designed.
  8. I can attest that some Thais prefer to pay for two shots of Sinopharm than to get the nRMA or viral vector products.
  9. Every regional office has its own process, and that can change on a monthly basis. In Chiang Mai, they used to demand a yearly copy of the bank statement + a bank letter. This year, they unexpectedly sent me to update my bank book, to prove the funds were current. Nevertheless, if you comply with the all the paperwork requirements, they'll issue an extension that same day.
  10. I agree with the reduced real-estate prices and stalled market in general. Some properties have been up for sale for years, and heavy discounts have made no difference. Still, the article focuses on high-end beach front properties, so that niche might be thriving. Hard to tell; humans have long mastered the art of deception.
  11. Works pretty well for Sweden and India. A recent study in the latter shows 67% of the population has anti-bodies in their systems.
  12. Greetings, I'm failing to find any information regarding the time frame during which I can apply for an extension. The immigration office is Chiang Mai. Does anyone know how many days prior to expiration I may apply? Many thanks!
  13. The virus will run through the country whether you like it or not. And people will die just the same--mostly elderly with comorbidity. You don't like it? Set up your own private lockdown and tuck yourself in.
