  1. Why is it that in many posts regarding the man V women it seems to be that all the scourne is placed at the mans feet.

In reality it takes 2 to make a relationship work, there is not just one party that is hard done by.

Nobody can place a price on being there watching your children grow up............

  2. The route of the sex tourist...

Man with no money walks down the street and ask a pretty woman for free sex she says NO way.

Man with car and money drives downs street, stops next to pretty woman and asks for free sex, she says how much?

Its the oldest profesion in the world and nearly impossible to stop, educate the women and make all the men poor, then it will just change the conversation to Woman with car.......ect.

If the government educate the people and give a better quality of prospects, life it will cause the flow of women to cease, its their country they have to make the decisions on what they want.

  3. The Beach road issue and the attraction to thiefs late at night has alwasy been a problem, to solve this problem just close the beach side pavement after 24.00hrs, removable steel 6ft wire mesh barriers should do it.

    or

Push the problem up to the Hilton hotel end and all the other hotels and I am sure that there will soon be a solving of the problem.

    or

Security with big dogs usually helps.

    or

don't get so drunk that you cannot stand up

  4. Just telling it like it is guys.

And you know I'm right, otherwise you would not be so quick to make futile attempts to paint a different picture of Pattaya, other than the one you know is true.

    Ok, try this little test....

    1. Do you think Pattaya does not have traffic problems that are getting worse ?

Agree with you there, but then most places have the same problem, I suppose you walk everywhere and don't add to this problem.

    2. Do you think there are large numbers of prostitutes and sex tourists in Pattaya ?

Agree with you there, but most people there decide to go there, same as Amsterdam and the Reeperbahn , Germany

    3. Do you think Pattaya is a calm peaceful place to enjoy the pristine beaches and crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Siam, with a low crime rate to boot ?

Agree beaches are bad, but so is Ko Samui, also Marbella, Spain, Brightons not to good either, crime rate is a problem...

    4. Do you just hate me for giving a true portrayal of the place ?

Hate is is big word and nobody here has mentioned it! Is it something that you have had previous problems with?

5.Ever notice the ammount of Farangs from Pattaya who will say " Chonburi " when asked where they live?

Not really, but then I do not live in Pattaya do you ? Where do you live?

I certainly have no desire to sully the reputation of Pattaya, it manages that all by itself.

Then really you don't have to keek adding to your comments.

Sorry but you forgot to add that the area around Pattaya has some of the best golf courses in Asia, the Thai people are really nice, the gold courses are cheap, flights here are good from most countries. The food is good, most people I play golf with here are English speaking, nice decent retired guys who are having a good time (not always in the bars) and enjoy a good climate standard of living ect beyound what they could achive in their home country.

  5. With all the bad news on this fourum what about some light hearted banter...

    Here's my effort.

Headlines we would like to see................all lines greatfully received....

A light hearted look at some headlines we would like to see.

Ladyboys rescue drunk tourist and take him home to bed.

Indian Taylor apologies for bad suit and gives double the cost of the suit back.

Bar girl returns to punter 5000Baht the next day due to overcharging.

Baht bus driver goes to Jomtien to give back wallet left in bus by visitor.

CD seller searches out buyers of faulty CDs.

Motorcycle renters start to supply crash helmets that fit.

Beach road declared consevation area by UNESCO.

Farang rescues bar girl from bar and marries her in new house in Jomtien.!!!

    :o:D:D

  6. Have you followed the comments made bycertain MPs who are definatly pushing the nationalist line and making very damaging statements with regards to the evil foreigner destroying things for good decent thais. This has been going on for a few years. It often makes the foreign media and gives Thailand a very unstable image with regards to the general feelings about foreigners.

I know 8 people who live here buying thai products and exporting to their home countries. There was no special visa requirements for them when they set up their import companies from home. They all spend 4- 8 mnts of the year here, never knowing far in advance when they will have to return, due to supply and demand.

What do you suggest they do now they will probably be rejected on their next visit, unless the immigration are clear and fair about who is and isn't allowed back in.

    I suggest they .... ummmm ..... get a visa?

They should do what you would expect them to do if they did the same in your own original country, become legal, visa, tax ect.

  7. Maggie

So, if I had said that she obviously had stolen the poor chaps money, would that be acceptable to the downtrodden, misunderstood Pattaya Farangs ?

Or would that also be branded as twisted ?

One day the Bars will close, Thai people will be more prosporous and the so called Pattaya Tourists will scarper elsewhere.

Let's face it as it is, if it was not for the opportunities of women or men half your age,you would see Pattaya for exactly what it is.................................a dump, in fact a dump with limited parking spaces. Bring in the Bulldozers

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes and I live in the best place in the world and there's only me in it!!!!

very sad, get off that boat with all those animals the floods gone.....

  8. Thailand pop 61.5 mill...Bangkok 10mill

Ethnic groups: Thai 75%, Chinese 14%, other 11%

A percentage of the 11% as expats is not a majority.

You are a small investor,a small minority ,living in a foreign country,if you can vote you have a voice if not then.......................

On the note of comparing Thailand to western countries I agree that its difficult but I have always found that the average locals house price is reflected in what the average local can afford so there is a comparison if you take the monies available to the locals.

  9. This girl seems like a smart girl, webcam, emails change of emails ect.

Too smart not to earn money the normal way.

    Iwould suggest,

Get somebody on line to check her out.

Go to Pattaya and have a good time.

    Take your golf clubs.

take a book Private Dancer or others recommended by the readers here.

Leave your money and brain in Spain.bring loads of Durex.

Have a good time and go back to Spain

Pattaya is like a sweet shop and if you have never been there before most of your ideas and values will be blown away.

Pattaya will still be there, and so will all the sweets ,plus a few new ones ready for next time.

    or your could..................

    :o:D:D

  10. I think that many people here are of course looking at the situation from their point of view ie tourist visa, wp, ect.

The impact these people have on the Thai economy is small. I am not sure but I think Thailand has a pop of around 50 mill of which non Thais is ? and non Thais with WP is how many?

Ok the tourists bring in a lot of money but the majotity of them are famalies who just want a good vacation , these restrictions will not cause them any problems, infact a cleaner image of Thailand will increase this tourist input.

Non Thais in Thailand are a minority group, they do not have any power and those that are there illegally or for the ride have nothing really to complain about.

if you want to have your say in a country then you should register in that country, thats how it works in most countries!

  11. Increasing scrutiny of marriages between foreigners and Thais.

"We will check whether they are really in love or not," Suwat Thamrongsrisakul, the head of the department, said at a news conference.

"We want real tourists, not fake tourists," Suwat said.

Of course these problems are all caused by tourists and unwanted visitors, the Thai women and men are dragged off to the registry office where they are held down by their suitor and the marriage takes place.

The land is being rapped by the tourists and property developers who use all mean tricks to con the Thais into accepting unrealistic amounts for their beach front sites.

Sorry but the non Thais are not the only ones causing these problems, they are not FORCED into these positions .

I agree this country needs tax from the workers and a tighter control on visitors but the non Thais are NOT the majority of the population.

Unfortunatly and country that lets a political figure avoid TAX to the degree this one has does not have the bassis for sound judgement and correct decissions.

  12. I see this as just a bringing into line the Thai immigration system with the rest of the shall we saylevel world.

Most countries operate and ENFORCE a system where the employer ask the government for a work permit.

Most countries operate a system where if you live there then you pay taxes into THEIR system ect .

Thailand did offer a nice easy bolt hole for many people but I think that to much was being taken out by the expats ect not alot being put in and the Thais themselves see that in their own country there is developing to big a gulf between non Thai and Thais.

  13. “Many gangs have walkie-talkies and listen to the police frequency, so they know what we are doing. Many times we have not caught criminals because they have had time to run away,” Maj Gen Decha said.

    :o:D

Of course the really silly ones hang around to be arrested and then are let off......

In Pattaya on the beach road side why would you ever want to walk along that piece of path, must be the new flowers and plant added to make it look better by the government. :D:D:D

How about making the pavement on the opposite side to beach road bigger ,say 3 meters, reduce the beach road path to a one metre path then we have no beach road problem.........................

that is unless they come over the road and join the Taylors...................nice shirt mister...

    :D:D:D

  14. ..He is normally a very careful guy and doesnt do anything on a spur i am totally taken aback by him with all this ,,,He just seems like a completely different person since coming back last time ...I dont know whats wrong with him !!! :D

Thailand fever. Mainly Thai women, who will make a middle aged western male (with a few quid in his pocket) feel like a teenage Superman again... anything is possible and nothing bad can happen because he's a big boy and knows all the scams already (uh-huh :o ).

Big wake up call coming somewhere down the line... get ready to help pick up the pieces (or not) when the inevitable happens.

    Hi,

I agree with the quote above...big wake up call coming.I did the same as your ex but pulled out of the deposit and just lost a small 2k since I was not sure about the position regarding ownership.

The money side problem is his responsibility and although you care really you cannot influence how he spends it.If he comes back poor thats his decision, what about if he makes a go of it, any many people have found what they want in Thailand.

Your worry should be for your sons and your husband should appreciate the problems, they are old enough and you should encourage them to vist him and try and understand what he is going through.Half terms coming up so thats a good time.

Don't make him out to be the stupid vilian , you will just make it more difficult for you and the boys.

( whats on offer to him is 100% different to anything he has witnessed, seen or done before)

he has to go through with it and learn.

I have a son age 17yrs and have been divourced for 6 years he have been most places around the world with me and last year Thailand... Pattaya....Phuket, Samui ...we play golf together and have a great time together ....OK the lead is held short on what he does some nights but I hope I can trust him now.

I was supprised this year when he said why he was not cominf with me again, I had thought that holidaying with his friends would be better , but no next time I go golfing he wants to come along.

You have 3 boys who will all look after each other, get them out there, fowarned (a good book Private Dancer in their hands) and let them develop.

PS Get yourself out , sat at home worrying about what you ex doing when really you cannot do anything to change it will not solve anything..life goes on........so don't stand still..

  15. If Pomey Bashing get your facts right.................or does reality not sit comfortably with you??

Facts.......hmmmmmm..... Fly asked "when"....and u being the "net nerd" that u are, answered.....so whooooooooooooooo whooooooooooo.......

U would probably think that Hatton would have beaten a fit in form Zu aswell.....:o:D

Yes fact ...last Games on your patch............................

If you want to resort to insults go ahead.............If you have a problem being corrected that your problem.

    :D

  16. Whatever......

stop sitting in front of ur computer all day.....get a job

the 50 metre free style is the only one that counts......

Arrrrr Lampard is no dog......he's gay...

    :o:D:D:D

Thats what I do,sit in front of a computer........................

If Pomey Bashing get your facts right.................or does reality not sit comfortably with you??

  17. 16 customers, including: Singapore Airlines (launch customer with an order for 10 aircraft), Lufthansa (15), Emirates (41), Air France (10), Qantas (12), Malaysia Airlines (6), Virgin Atlantic (6) International Lease Finance (10), Kingfisher Airlines (5), Qatar Airways (2), Federal Express (10), Korean Air (5), Thai Airways (6), Etihad Airways (4), China Southern Airlines (5) and United Parcels Service, have announced firm orders for 159 A380 airliners. 25 of these are for the cargo version...

  18. The world's first fully operational double-decker passenger aircraft, the Singapore Airlines A380, will begin service from Singapore's Changi Airport.

As the world's largest passenger aircraft, the A380 presents a unique challenge for many airports around the world.

In anticipation of the arrival of the A380, Singapore Airlines, its subsidiaries and partners, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS), Changi Airport Fuel Hydrant Installations (CAFHI) and its handling agents formed a Ground Handling Working Group in early 2005.

The task for the Working Group was twofold: to work with Airbus to guarantee seamless operations of the A380 at the airport, and to ensure passengers continue to experience the comfort and ease they have come to expect. ...and lots more ...from Singers Air.... :D

Got a comp also going with winners getting 2 free tickets on the big one....promo...from Sing Air

    :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I phone up Emirates , another customer to book a ticket yesterday and they had a nice little advert on the phone saying that the A380 is in service late 2006 to early 2007.

I hope that they are all right.........would like a little bet on it though if you fancy a small wager...?

As I said raining here in Hamburg....

    :jap: :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

  19. Hi,

I would like some info from the informed members here.

I sent a sum of 1.4m Baht to Bangkok via UK bank transfer for a house deposit.

The monies have not left my Thai account.

I have decided not to buy and wish to transfer the monies back to the UK.

Are there any problems, advice that you can give via the best most efficient way to do this.

I accept the rates will stich me up but that normal, its the legal/banking side I worry about.

    Its in the Kungthai Bank.

Advice like use the ATM for 40 days is not productive.

    Thanks ED
