There's already charges and costs associated with being a tourist or resident in Thailand..
Plus the farang costs -v- thai costs.
Plus the reports.
Plus selective fines by the BIB.
20 million tourists will generate 6 billion baht additional revenue.
Pointless asking for transparency...

And I thought the government pay , after all didn't they just say, they pay out over 400 million baht on tourists medical bills and that's the reason for the new, 300 baht landing tax
Which with 20 million visitors annually will reap 6 billion baht.

They do now.
Just ask at the front desk.
Special care has always been available.
For the right price.

Been here a long time, and have a low opinion of the mafia in uniform
Think we have all experienced that to some degree.
My local BIB won't turn out at night (maybe night spirits) unless they get petrol money.
[No joke]

I find that hard to believe. A Thai motorist actually stopping for a pedestrian?
Almost tail ended by a truck yesterday.
Nurse part way across outside the hospital so yes i stopped.
Almost finished up in the hospital.

They are having a laugh.
Next it will be
Motorist actually stopped for a Pedestrian crossing...
Bring back the corruption stories...

Probably spent more than thais too.
Most tourists budget an amount to blow on a holiday.
Plus many have paid leave.

Something doesn't compute in my old brain.
More than 250 outlets selling weed in Pattaya now.
Consume ln or take away.
You can get cbd vapour medication so how do you stand with the use of these.?
Medication certification in a foreign language?
Needs a shake up.
But why stop here?.

But still openly sold.
And used by RTP and immigration officers openly.
Can be seen at Jomtien soi 5 many times..
"Do as I say, not do as I do"...

I scored a taxi from survanabhumi to Nangrong last week.
3500.
Saved the 39 minutes to mochit.
400 baht.
Saved the 6 hours waiting for a bus and 450 baht.
Off the plane 0530.
Cleared airport 0615.
Just asked taxi nicely.
He spoke great English.
(HE had been sleeping 4 hours waiting for a fare)
In the village 1130.
I honestly can't complain.

Friend was hauled in soi Buchao. Treetown. Just Recently.
DIU.
Never showed the reading.
BiB many not in uniform just tee shirts demanded 20,000. Cash.
Or monkey house.
Mate could not pay.
So they took him to the ATM and accepted 10,000
Then pointed to the back streets to avoid any further stops.
This was the same time the big chief was summoned to bangkok.
Under investigation.
The 2ic set up this sting and it's rumour that 100 farang fell foul of it that night.

Just imagine what Nana would look like if they enforced all the rules about vaping sex toys and prostitution. Wow would it be quiet.
And all the counterfeit supplements like Viagra Cialis Black Ant.
ALL Are knock off's.
Banned in many countries for undeclared contents.
Look alike.
But again, nothing is done.

Mochit is the land time forgot.
unauthorised taxis a plenty.
The touts say not many cars today.
700 to Survanabhumi and walk you around the back to cousin and his car.
Official taxi (agree there's not many) about 350 baht.
Huge corruption here.

There is an article in the BP which I cannot link to!
E cigs.
Just stand outside Jomtien immigration and see officers blatantly puffing away on these things.
Two sets of rules for sure.

Still waiting for the $526 flight credit for the cancellation due to covid.
Back in March 2020.
Lost count of the calls.
Emails.
And face to face conversations at the airport.
Very poor service.
