  1. I haven't done a land border crossing in 3+ yrs. I have to fly to Phonn Phenn then I am planning to take a bus to poipet and do a visa stamp at the border.

What sort of things they might ask? 20k baht I will have w me already and a ticket out.

I got stopped at the airport in 2016 for too many visas.  I am kind of worried about doing the crossing at this border since I read it is not the best one but since I have to go to PP this is the closest to bkk.

Anyone has experience doing in/out at this border?

    Thanks...that's very interesting information.

Have you actually wired funds out of Cambodia?

Yes. You just go to the branch and request it. Now I have this card with codes on it from ABA bank so I just do from my computer.

I did a wire w Canadia, cheaper than ABA in terms of fees.

I do everyday banking w Canadia, and ABA I use for wire transfers when I am not in Cambodia. They both also have phone apps to check balances and do some transfers.

  3. The OP asked for ANY in the country. Since he has a car he can just to go ANY.

Let him deal with distance issues.

I also would like to know which is the easiest least hassle border entry in the whole country.

  4. Yes, u can do the extension and u can take another flight out.

Usually they ask u for 20k baht if something came up on their system when they entered your passport number.

Also making you purchase an outgoing ticket before they let u through is a first I hear about.

If they entered any information in the computer under your passport or it came up when u went thru immigration you will have problems again for sure.

Does sound like you had previous entries into the country for them to make you purchase a ticket and show money.

This doesn't usually happen  on a first time visit

  5. I am not sure the reason you decided to opt for a business visa when one can easily live there with tourist visas but I suggest you look for ho chi minh expats group on Facebook and ask this question there.

I was going to apply for a business visa but when I found out I could just do visa runs every 3 months for a lot less so I went w this option.

The business visa allows you to stay for 1 yr. You don't have a work permit so I doubt you would need to pay any kind of taxes.

  6. You can go to Bali and get another tourist visa but getting a visa there and being allowed entry at the airport are 2 very different things. You got the red stamp so you are toast w any future entries.

Either get an Ed visa or go home for 6 months. Once you get the ed visa dont go out of the country for at least a yr.
