I could relate to that if seeing another foreigner was a novelty. But when they are a dime a dozen it seems like going overboard to me. Reminds me of back in the US when I used to drive an old International Scout, a bit of a novelty. Anybody else driving a Scout always waved to me. My second vehicle was a motorcycle, and 90% of other motorcycle riders would wave, getting on my nerves after a while. Interestingly (not really), when driving my Scout no motorcyclists ever waved. When riding my bike, no Scout drivers ever waved.
