  1. Thanks for the info.

    Very interesting

    The noise has gone now.

It was making an incredible rattling sound when in park nuteral.

Someone suggested it might not be the tranie but plates or a drive shaft.

Very strange that the noise has disappeared.

I could get it diagnosed at a transmission specialist but it is not cheap.

I would like to keep the car it's been a great vehicle super reliable.

Is it worth spending money on diagnostics now the noise has gone?

How can I find out if it's not the tranie but something else?

    Thanks

  2. Suddenly my Nissan K12 Micra, or Match's transmission has started to make loud rattling sounds when in neutral or park.

As soon as I go to drive, the sound disappears, and it drives perfectly the gears changing and working without sounds, the oil level is OK.

The minute it goes back to Park or neutral, the very loud rattling starts.

I'm assuming its the transmission and not the engine, as the noise appears only when the gear stick is in those 2 positions.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  3. Sometimes Zoom sessions, booked in advance, show up when I open Zoom.

    Other times they do not.

I make the Zoom session in Google diary, choosing Zoom, the other person receives the link.

But often it doesn't appear when I open Zoom, so I have to go to the diary, get the link, then past it into Edge.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks

  4. Just got a new Android OneTel phone, the apps have been updating for 5 hours, but nothing's happening.

Tried restarting the phone, but no luck, its always hanging.

Never had this with a phone before,
I've installed android and apps 30 times without a problem.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    The apps are pending
Tried cancelling then downloading again, still pending.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks, I don't mind Win11, it has some improvements, worth getting.

Its better designed, though there's not much in it really. The big thing is that Taskbar Toolbars have been removed.

  6. Thanks for the info.

Actually, installing apps is quite quick, as I don't use so many and Windows is quite good these days, don't need much.

The hasstle is setting up everything they way I like it.

The question is - Do I need to format the HD to protect all my info, or is a Windows reinstall enough?
I was told that my files are still accessable after a clean reinstall using Windows and a format is necessary.

If I have to do a format.

How would I install Win11 after formatting the HD? Would I download Win11 to an external USB drive from the MS website then install from there?

    Thank you

  7. OK thanks, just heard that they are going to do a clean install.

If I want to delete all my personal information, what's the best way to do this?
Format the HD using 3rd party or Windows softare?
I think I can do this from an external Win11 install USB.

  8. Sending my  PC back for repair, would rather not have to do a clean install and then spend 5 hour putting everything back as I want it.

Can I just put a password on my use account, then allow the repair man access via a guest account?

Is there any way to keep my information safe, while in repair, and prevent having to delete the HD and reinstall?

If I reinstall Windows 11, I understand that doesn't delete my files, they're still accessable from the HD, so if I format the HD, will that permenanly delete my files and so provide complete security?

    Thanks

  9. Windows 10 has not crashed or had a fault in 5 years, on any of the 5 PC's I use.

It is reliable, fast and efficient.

Windows 11 is fast and efficient.

It repairs its self or reinstalls easily.

Edge is excellent, never had a problem, great with PDF's.

I can't think why anyone would want to not use it, unless on an lower powered PC.

But new PCs are so cheap and powerful, that hardly seems necessary.

  10. I've never had this problem with Win10 or Win 11

These run great, no problems at all.

    >bloatware, slower performance, surreptitious high jacking of third party apps, update issues, peripherals and drivers that no longer work, and less control of your own machine.
