" Lets say I left USA on may 11 and arrive may 12 in thailand, what would the date of my departure in thailand be if i want all 90 days? "

Let's see, you want us to take the calendar out and do the counting for you? 12th and day of departure are included in the 90 days.

I agree, not to hard to figure out if you know how to count.

Get a calendar and you first need to find the date you will be arriving.

Find that date on your calendar and that will be day 1. Go to the next day which will be day 2 and keep going and when you get to 90, that will be the date you would need to depart Thailand.

Sure hope that helps make it clear.

What's the opening and closing time of this new food court? Might check it out one day.

I believe the sign said 10:00 AM to 24:00.

    But that's not true.

I went there a few days ago before returning home from my holiday, but never again.

Got there about 21:30 and got the card to use to purchase the food. After going in, most of the venders where shut down or shutting down. So decided to give it a miss. Went back to where I purchased my card and they had already closed. Told me that I would go across to the other end to cash in my unused card.

What other had said most venues there just don't make it.

Can I please get some sensible answers?

    I'm pretty traumatized.

I haven't read the entire thread.

Its not going get any better only worse. I just had a Pattaya expat friend get stabbed by his Thai wife and hospitalized for a while.

You just need to end it the best way you can.

First thing that would help us, is the marriage a civil or religious one?

You may just have get your person things and walk away and if going to stay in Thailand most likely will need to distance yourself as far a where you will live.

  4. I have been every Christmas/New Years since 2001 and will be back in 2 weeks again this year.

I find it a festive time of year and yes its high season.

Lots of the bars having parties with most of them having the girls dressed in their little red Santa outfits.

I haven't experience increased levels of idiots, drunken and antisocial behavior, just about the same as any other time of year.

Come and enjoy, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Didn't follow up on detail? I didn't know the car had red plates until I picked it up. I trusted the car hire company, who I'd used several times before, for "detail".

    "Red Plates"

With your proclaimed vast Thai experience and having your Thai wife with you, that should have been a clue that this wasn't right.

As for my friend, I agree with you. He isn't as versed in Thai ways as we are. Plus the fact that he has been driving for well over 40 years and has a spotless driving record. The only 2 times he has been stopped by police are here in Thailand. Takes it as a personal affront to have his driving ability questioned.

Stopped by the police, having his driving ability questioned????????

You're telling us that we don't know the ways in Thailand. Getting checked at checkpoint or roadblock is not being stopped by the police. Also it has nothing to do with his driving ability questioned. Did they put up the check point when they thought he wasn't driving properly. Give us all a break.

With your vast experience in the Thai ways, why would you even think about taking a car with 'red plates' on a road trip?

I'm no way an expert, like you are on the all rules of the road in Thailand. I come to Pattaya 4 to 5 times a year and I rent a car each trip to drive around the country. I also rent my car from a Brit in Pattaya who also rents motor bikes and also has a good reputation for running his business. I'm sure its not the same person you rent from because my guy has everything in order. I know this because I also drive thru Kabin Buri each trip on my way to Sa Kaeo. I average about 3 stops each way by checkpoints or roadblocks. When my papers and license at looked at, I get a nice thank you and wave on. The checkpoint wasn't put up because I was driving bad, Its there at the same spot each and every trip over the past 10 plus years I have been renting a car and driving over near the Cambodia Border.

A relatively petty crime that happens hundreds of times a day

I don't know what is 'petty' about 87,000 baht being stolen. Should be classified as breaking and entering.

On the other hand, its foolish to be carrying that much money walking around in a crowed shopping mall.

Hope the BIB are able to retrieve the stolen money and return it.

Two Visa Exempts Entries permitted in a calender year.

Is this something new? I'm now returning home from my 3rd Visa Exemption this year and will do one more in December.

I did 4 last year and 5 the year before that and have done at least 4 per year for the past 15 years.

Please direct me to where you found this information.

I think false information given on the form sure isn't very helpful.

I wouldn’t like to see you unnecessarily fined or have an unneeded accident because a Thai is looking for a quick buck.

    fined for what?

I drive all around Pattaya with my windows open, I like the fresh air.

On the highway I drive with the driver side window down a inch or so.

Whats the big deal are you the window police or something?

  10. I have had a AIS 12 Call for over 10 years with the same number.

I think part of my success comes being in Thailand 4 time a year, once about every 3 months and use and add a load to the phone/SIM every trip.

I pretty much have a full year left on the SIM when I leave each trip. A few trips I had add a few 10 baht loads to the phone to extend it for an extra few months.

As soon as the plane touches down at BKK, I do the *121# send and I have the same load and time period as when I left on the previous trip. When I arrive I also stop at the AIS desk at the airport and get the minimum data plan for my 3 week stay.

Only people that buy insurance pay increased premiums.

In much the same way that only tax payers pay for tax increases.

Yes I know that, I think we all know that. I guess you thought we didn't know if you don't have insurance, you don't pay increased premiums. Thanks for pointing that out for us.

However, one of the reasons for the increased premiums, is false claims filed.
