  1. I agree with 'observer90210'.

This has been going on with (non) PayPal for years. I get at least one a month from the PayPal scammers.

I also get them from my bank and my credit card which again are all scams.

A good way to tell is to look at what comes after the "@" from the email from the sender.

If you get a email from PayPal it should be from @paypal.com not @uk.hotmail.com or what every else the scammers use.

The latest one I got from my bank which is Bank of America, was @bnkamerca.com.

It depends if the flight is operated under FAA (US) or CAA (China) flight regulations. CAA regulations are widely used across Asia, and do not allow electronic devices in flight, no matter the type. I will never book a flight transiting China for this reason. If your flight was going to/from one of the countries that follows CAA regs, or is operated by an airline that follows CAA regs, there's your reason. Nothing to do with the flight attendant or pilot's preference.

That happened to me on a flight on China Eastern from Shanghai to Bangkok./

I was reading my Noon E-Reader while taxing out to take off. The flight attendant came by and told me I had to turn it off.

After getting to cruse attitude I got it back out. The same attendant was walking down the aisle and said, "I told you before you can't have that on while in the plane.

First and last time flying China Eastern.

You call her a GF but she calls you a client. Keep that in mind when you are getting an ass beating and she walks away next time. Should help you sort out these dilemmas in the future.

I always call my new best friend of the night, "my part time GF".

If I break the 3 night/day rule, then its "full time".

Mr. T now charges ฿1100 each way. Just picked up a new business card at their office on Soi Diana Inn yesterday. New price is reflected on the card.

Most likely the increase is do to the new toll booth on Highway 7 just outside Pattaya.

I don't use Mr. T any longer because of some (several) problems I have had, but when I did and the everything went well with the ride, I would tip the driver 200 baht.

  5. Last month, an American soldier was attacked by a group of Thai men selling fake watches on Pattaya beach road.

The watch sellers were later arrested and charged with selling fake goods.

Following the incident police said they were working to rid Pattaya of annoying street vendors who harass foreign tourists.

The above is from the OP. They beat the guy up and were found, but only charged with 'selling fake goods, but not with the beating they gave the guy.

Also knowing that the police are working on ridding Pattaya of "annoying street vendors" makes me feel a whole lot better.

there's a lot of illegal prostitution going on in pattaya and nana/ patpong areas of bangkok, as well as market and street sellers selling fake designer goods.

    Don't even think about it!!!

Not unless you want to be looking over your shoulder the rest of your life, lol.

And no , it won't be the Thais you will need to worry about.

Bangkok expat, get out now, stay out a relationship like yours is doomed.

One day you might even wake up dead.

    Willie's song said it best;

I woke up still not dead again today
The news said I was gone to my dismay
Don't bury me, I've got a show to play
And I woke up still not dead again today

My flight on 27 December issued the old style and those were the ones available at DMK. There again the airlines tend to keep fairly large stocks on board so it may be some time before the new ones filter through the system.

I got the new one on my Korean Air flight on December 11th.

Yes I agree a little harder to read the new one, damn it tuft getting old.

  9. I agree that the exchange rate is based on supply, demand and I'm sure the most important factor is the value of your home country's currency.

When I was there last week the exchange rate of the USD was up and down like a yoyo.

I think the low was 32.46 and the high was 32.72 and it change everyday except I think on Sundays.

I never had thought that the rate changes were a rip off, and high/low season doesn't have anything to do with the exchange rate.

I think the rip off is when TT is exchanging at 32.72 to the USD and the other yellow exchange place states they have the best rate at 32.50.
