Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements
Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You are confirming what I wrote. But not so many, of those millions of rich young entrepreneurs, under 50 (!) years old used it. It was a failing attempt right from the beginning and a bad deal. Some people bought it, because they had no other choice, and many bought, it because they fell for the "status", and those petty "privileges", which are making everything so "simple". Everything has its price. No matter what the market brings tomorrow. The "retirement" visa was just an example to compare the smart calculation. About the bank deposit, I think, there is a little difference between having to pay up in advance, which means it's gone! Or having the 800k in my bank account. For "Elites" maybe not. -

The Elite Visa "was", until now (?) a considerable option for people under 50 years old, or people who don't care too much about money. The "benefits" and amenities are marginal, nearly ridiculous compared to the price. The Elite visa (like you mentioned) qualifies for nothing! Except spending your money in the country, and an extension for a rip-off payment again. So, those who want to be "Elite", pay the price for it. The new DTV is half-cooked, and still, nobody knows exactly about the small print and what "adjustments" will follow for sure. Some IOs confirm the endless bouncing cycle. Not only a wet dream of all those MacBook owners, boosting the economy from the beach on KPG. Other IOs actually, don't even stamp in the 60 days on arrival. TiT. The old shopping rule, to read the tags, and the manual briefly, before buying, comes into play. The calculated 6670 Bah/month for 16 years (quite long), is only reasonable at first glance. With an EOS for retirement, for example, you come to a monthly amount of 2.53 (TWO!) Baht, for the same time. This is a bargain! The shorter the time, the bigger the difference. On top, the 800k Baht in your bank account, or whatever the amount will be in the future, is still your money! Not diminished in the coffers of the visa "hub". -

In a traffic jam, even Google can't help you. You're well prepared for the challenges of life and know about geographics. So, Chinese people are unsophisticated, but they are "the well-appreciated" masters. Locals expect many things from foreigners, besides money. The capability to hire a car doesn't say much about a developed origin or state of mind. The only thing, you can "assume" is, that he's not a local. All in all, it's a blown-up, petty incident, even though not decent at all. But this collective jexxing off about is pretty ridiculous. -
90-Day online reporting going down

They're just "trying" to implement more boxes (shoe size, the birthday of your parents, etc.), and questions they've got the answers to already anyway. Profed by mountains of photocopies. -

Every little BS gets "significant" attention from locals when foreigners are involved. Only outnumbered by announcements of "new" hubs. -

There it is again. Deliberately initiated anti-foreigner outrage about a petty incident. It might distract from the Phuket MC-Taxi-thugs gang-beating a foreigner to unconsciousness. Right? I guess those had also taken a leak after, by laughing about it. -

It's not about the basement. I don't know about your visitors either. It's about the "hovering" height! Do you get it now? -

Only idiots rely on the "service" of them anyway! Giving their body into the hands of any guy with a motorbike, hanging around on the street the whole day. They might know about the "best", and "cheapest" ping-pong-ball-shows... in the streets on the next block. Besides, using their "service" isn't "entitling" them to overcharge, or scam you. Period. If I'm forced to pay an overcharged sum because I want to get out of a threatening (blackmailing?) situation, I still don't see any justification for initiating a scam or violence. There is nothing about "culture", or "respect" involved. I don't respect thugs, and scammers in any country. And here, I don't give a xxxx for fake "smiles". If they gang-beat someone up (this is also "culture" in the TiT "High Class" low-life sanctuaries), there is no reason to blame the harmed victims. By "Streetsmart" (Lol) Farang "wannabe Thai" apologists, who are playing the incidents down, by asking what might have been said. And exactly the "violence", and nothing else, is the subject here! -

The f-word has become an "international" phrase. It's so much used, that every monkey understands it. It's not about "civilization". Civilizations degenerate from time to time. Including the "responses" in those situations. The inflationary abuse of the word "respect", from apologists, in so many contexts, is also an indicator of this degeneration. In short, societies are going with the dogs. More or less everywhere. -

Exactly. Talking about "street-smartness", respecting local "customs" (scamming), and blaming the victims. If a foreigner knocks out a local thug or is "misbehaving" in any manner, they're jumping on the bandwagon of any "artificial" initiated outrage. Crying for deportation, BKK Hilton, and severe punishment. Too many pseudo-assimilated, but pathetic, farang Ahs lurking around in this sanctuary. -
If that were true, many more (Ham)asholes would be taken out! These creeps don't care about collateral damage, and they're wasting their so-called "civilians" deliberately. Find the failure.

What about Myanmar? Lol. UN? UN-reliable, UN-nessecairy, UN-important, UN-trustworthy! A useless enterprise of obsolete, toothless, crooked hypocrites. TiT used to be on its radar. But, in between, it fits very well with this "talking" club. Surprise?

Minister Supamas Acts Swiftly Amid University Degree-Buying Scandal
Maitdjai replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Most TiT University "Degrees" are not worth wiping it. Exceptions confirm the rule. Everybody knows it, the government anyway. That's the reason why, after paying for the degree, the "academics" have to "pay" for a decent job within the "official" kleptocracy structures. In the private sector, the fruits hang a bit higher. Same, same, a little different. Not high enough, to change this imploding system, and the declining performance of the economy. Structural, and educational failures are taking their toll in the long run. With, or without tourists. -
