Land border crossing - 2 per calendar year limit change
For what it's worth I have contacted three "border run" providers and all three gave me the same response.
"Unlikely to be enacted and on the off chance it is not until the new year sometime."
But it is Thailand so using a magic eight-ball could be just as accurate with an answer. ????

moronic actions like rejecting a millionaire (ME) at the airport with the stamp "no have the means to upkeep in the Kingdom" cannot pass without consequences.
I agree it's preposterous, I'm poor and a card carrying member of the unwashed masses and they let me in without issue. ????
..although they don't seem impressed with 20k in 20 baht notes, they never want to count it. I'm kidding of course.. there are a few 10 baht coins in the bag too.

Why has there been no announcement from the other embassies regarding the verification of income letters?
Spain, Germany, Canada, Russia etc
-
Do you have to show proof of income for a standard tourist visa in Penang?
-
Has anyone experienced trouble getting through to the Bangkok Immigration Complex using the listed phone number(s) this last week or so?
We have been trying at different times of the day for 3 days now and nobody picks up the phone.
The number that is displayed in the Google+ search result and the numbers on their Contact page appear to unattended.

okay, thanks again for the information.

Do they count all the exemptions together, land and air, towards the 6th trigger? Or is it six by air only to get the alert?
-
Do visa exemptions by air reset in the same manner that land border crossings do, per calendar year?
The 2 exemptions per year via land is clear but it has been mentioned a few times that by air the "limit" is 6.

On what basis will you be applying for the visa and subsequent extension?
I have a Thai born son, and will be formalising the paperwork for marriage in the next weeks.

What form does the proof of 40k baht income need to take?

I will be applying for my first Non-Imm O soon, but I am curious about the extension options.

Is anyone up to date with the latest requirements for a 1 year extension to a Non-Immigration (O) visa? - Dependant or Spouse
Laos or Malaysia

The Penang-Thai Consulate has announced that consular services have recommenced as of today (Monday 9th).
The document states they are processing 150 visa applications a day as part of a trial. Would anyone know how busy it gets?
I've heard there can be up to 100 people waiting by 9am.

I started a Topic about vaccinations....
-
Okay, I will definitely be going to the hospital with them, we were given a sort of health diary at the birth so I'll be sure to take that along.
Thank you all for the information and different opinions.
-
Would anyone know where I might find online the current vaccination schedule for a baby's first six months in Thailand?
I'm not against vaccinations per se but my partner seems a little vague on the details, and only has a badly photocopied
brochure from a hospital in Bangkok.

I've been using WorldRemit without issue for over a year, bank transfers (1-3 days) or near instant cash pickup from Government Savings Banks, excepting those in Central Plaza shopping centres.

#2 - Each grants 30 days for everyone with a passport from countries on the Visa-Exempt list. The old 15-day bit was rescinded.
Thank you.
That was what I was not aware of, the rescinding of the 15 day rule. Out of curiosity does any have a link to the amendment restoring the 30 days granted?
I'm going with the 'Thai Visa Service' crew on their same day border run.
-
I'm not clear on the visa exemptions granted at land borders.
what I think I know -
1. Only 2 per year are allowed.
2. Each grants a 15 day stay in Thailand.
Can the two exemption stamps be "combined" on the same day to grant a 30 day stay?
If not combined and used separately each can be extended for 30 days at 1900 baht, granting 45 days each use?

Has anyone used either Banana or Jim's Place as a visa agent in Penang recently?
-
Does anyone foresee trouble with entry using a new single entry tourist visa with the following history?
December 2016 - Visa Exemption 12 days
2017 - SETV + Extension (AIR)
2017 - Visa Exemption + Extension (AIR)
Will have evidence of onward flight, accommodation and 20k Baht in hand.
Also, as above but using another Visa Exemption?
-
If I'm reading the various websites correctly there appears to be no proof of funds requirement upon the initial application for this type of visa?
Proof of funds is required if I wish to extend the visa as mentioned above.
That said having the standard 20k baht on your person is probably a good idea when arriving in Thailand.
-
thank you.
I forgot to add the evidence of funds, what will I need for the initial application?
-
Does the list below cover the documents I will need to apply for the non-o visa in Penang?
original passport
colour copy of passport photo/signature page
2 passport photos
colour copy of mother's thai id card
colour copy of thai dependent's birth certificate (my name is on this certificate)
colour copy of tambien baan (housebook) page with mothers and child's full name/national ID number and the first page
Savannakhet visa run report - dos and donts
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

May I ask how good, or bad, the internet access (data, speed) was at these locations? I've read you can buy sims at a lot of shops easily enough and I tend to stay connected with voip apps.
