Any extra give to your neighbors before they expire.

Your wife may not have shared with you.  A family of Isan farmers went mushroom picking and didn’t realize the big concrete block sticking out of the ground (sort of like a kilometre marker on the highway but 10 times the size) was the Laos Thai border.  They strolled across and awhile later while picking Laotian mushrooms the Laotian military came and after much explaining the group was taken to the nearest town, offered 2-weeks free quarantine and a shot of Pfizer.

Screw the US government. They just don't care about us.

According to the US Embassy's (Thailand) website ... The mission of the United States Embassy is to advance the interests of the United States, and to serve and protect U.S. citizens in Thailand.

I booked my appointment yesterday to renounce my "born in USA" citizenship.  After 62 years of telling everyone "I am an American," I am now thoroughly disgusted to be American and to have come from what was once a great country.

Here is a great rant by a US entrepreneur on the state of overweight under educated people who call themselves Americans ... https://youtube.com/watch?v=HryiadpkssQ&feature=share

    What's the rush???

Agreed.  Thailand can spend the savings from not buying vaccines on their space program or submarines or why not both!!!!!!

In India where vaccination rates are low and slow, death rates are within norms.  In 2020, death rate for India was 7.3 per 1,000 people.  In 2019, death rate for India was 7.3 per 1,000 people.  Same!! Same!!

Also, heard immunity might be working in India.  67% of Indians surveyed have developed antibodies against coronavirus.

The fourth national serosurvey has found that 67.6 per cent surveyed Indians have developed antibodies against the virus causing Covid-19.  Serology, or antibody, testing checks a sample of a person’s blood to look for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Antibodies usually become detectable in the blood 1-3 weeks after someone is infected.

Just what we need for the image of foreigners in Thailand...oh brother. hit him with 6000 baht fine...if he transgresses again....throw him out

Not out.  Immediately put him in a holding cell in an infected wing of a maximum security prison, due to shortage of space in lical holding cells.   After a week, if he’s positive, send him back to his new boyfriends.  If not send him back there anyway.

Low costs of living in Bangkok!  Only if you wish to live like the Thai´s!

Trying to maintain western living standards will easily cost you the same as in many European countries

Being from Vancouver and having been back and forth between there and Thailand, I can compare living costs and I did for many years before making Thailand our primary residence.  For 250,000 baht a month we live reasonably well with my Big Boy Toys, a wife and son and a first class 200 m2 condo.  When in Vancouver, where our condo is 150 m2 and in the center of the financial district, our monthly costs are easily, no very easily more than double for a similar quality of life.

    Now lemme get this straight.........

Each one million Thai Tourist will spend 4 Billion Baht?

    Ummm ok then

You put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em bot' up

4,000 Baht per person over 4 days, or 1,000 Baht per day is not much spending in comparison to foreigners on holiday, but it sure is a shot in the arm for the tourism industry.

This makes sense as I've been doing a lot of exercise and felt no difference in my breathing

I would like to add two items of note.

one, we were on our boat all day Wednesday and the skyline was very similar to that of Los Angeles,   a medium brown haze of pollution as far as the eye could see North and South.  We did find it difficult breathing, especially our 8-month old baby.

two, Thursday and Friday we had the windows open and our air filter system in our living room was in the red all day.

Nothing is ever going to change, get used to it. I try to get used to it but as I get older it gets more difficult so I am paying for my wifes driving lessons so she can take over the school run. I will probably never let her drive me and I will only let her take our daughter to school if I think she is capable.

Hope the school is next door.   Nothing in this world could ever force me to let my wife drive our son.   Period.   When something terrible would inevitably happen, I would want to kill myself right after doing her.

So does this imply that foreign "dignitaries" are exempt from quarantine and just have to take a test?

So, Thailand should be operating differently then other first world economies?  Do some bloody research before your post your anti-Thai statements.

Some people don’t have to fill in a passenger locator form or self-isolate on arrival in the UK, because of the jobs they do.

Treat Thais in our conties the same way they treat us in Thailad!

Well then I guess we should all go back to our home countries.

The requirements to be granted a non-tourist visa (meaning a work or long stay) in Canada is very onerous and quite expensive.   In Canada, for example, you and your prospective employer must be able to show that you are not taking a job away from a Canadian.  As a Canadian employer I have assisted numerous foreigners with employment and visas in Canada and it has been a costly process limited to a small number of people.   Thailand lets anybody get a visa for little money, in other words exceptionally cheap.

Really, I thought Thailand was and has been COVID free for a while. This would suggest that we are being told a pack of lies. Or is there another reason?

Only if you are using ThaiVisa as your news source for what is happening in Thailand, are you being not so much lied to as mislead.   Everyday in the Thai news on TV people are brought up to date with what is the current situation.   Such as the mention of the three foreigners (one from Sudan and two from Qatar) who tested positive.  Broaden your source of information or petition ThaiVisa to report the news - all the news that is of interest to foreigners.   That would be (1) COVID-19, (2) immigration, and (3) road accidents, which everybody loves.  Especially my wife who turns on the TV at 6am to catch the morning accident report.

but in my life here of nearly 18 years I have not believed for a moment that foreigners are not wanted here.

I moved here in the summer of 1997.   I have worked and now retired in this country.   Immigration rules and procedures have been reduced to almost nothing.   Annual retirement visa takes me about 2.5 hours every 365 days.  That includes getting my bank letter.  Ninety day reporting online, about 7 minutes, 4 times a year.  Try Indonesia or step back in time if you want and live in Cambodia or Vietnam.   This is a very strong country financially and everything you could ever want and more is here on offer.  I do get frustrated with the little things but then I remember what dealing with monkeys is like in my home countries of the USA and Canada.  Then I laugh it off.   I read most of you and am reminded that you won’t be here long since the Thai currency, know as the Baht, will strengthen to the point your pension won’t buy you a Singha.   Sorry, you probably like Chang as do most Thai farmers and country folk.

    Why does that matter?

UK unsecured crossings, have a sign saying.... Stop.... look... listen, clearly the bus driver did none of that.

Thai news shows actual video of the bus passing over the tracks without stopping.   They also report bus passengers saying the music was very loud and many of them saw the train but the driver was not looking and could not hear the train whistle.

So people who are financial nit wits leaving huge amounts of money in bank accounts earning no money coming from a country with high covid19 rates are more welcome in Thailand than people who have retirement Visas but spend money in Thailand with the smaller Thai businesses.

Not sure where all you financial gurus are keeping your liquid assets, but in Canada at the Bank of Montreal for deposits under $250,000 (approx 5m baht) the interest rate is 0.05%.  In Thailand at SCB for deposits less than 10m the interest rate is 0.25% - fives times that of Canada.   Thailand is not a bad place to keep some funds.   Not sure about the UK requirement though.  Seems any non-Thai bank should suffice.

So if I do not read into this at all, then everyone who gets or got a 30 day extension regardless of when, will have that 30 days start on November 1st and end on the 31st.  This is either now a drop dead date for those visas to expire and folks to obtain a 1 year extension of stay or leave Thailand.  It will cause more overcrowding on the 31st of November if they do not roll over again. Or maybe this just become a new rolling 30 day period, Again speculation on my part.

Are you saying these extensions never end?   Or did you honestly not know that there has never been nor will there ever be a November 31st?

The intelligence level on this forum is beyond comprehension.

They talk about multiple bad reviews but does anyone know exactly how many bad reviews he posted in Total?
My understanding is he posted the 1st very bad one on Tripadvisor which the Hotel had removed by Tripadvisor for violating Rules.

So he posted another on Trip Advisor which wasn't removed and wasn't as bad as the first also he posted 2 on Google so

that's a total of just 4 with one removed and the last 3 were not as bad as the first.
If I am upset with an online company I also post multiple bad reviews to warn others.
Ps User reviews are always only personal opinions and not stating facts.
If only good reviews are allowed then there's no pint in having reviews.

I posted a valid bad review on Lazada with pictures of the defective product.  The seller removed it.   I called Lazada to ask how that is possible.   I was told “in Thailand Lazada allows sellers to delete reviews they do not like”.   Trump would love it here.
