I don't agree. Actually women distract men from reaching their full potential. Which is why some very highly successful men can't keep a solid relationship going. Because great men want to achieve great things and to achieve great you are ideally singularly focused and dedicated towards your goal.
I have been in a relationship and have a daughter, but I also have some goals and the relationship makes it harder to achieve my goals. I want to become self sufficient from my work, being able to stop working for clients. And to achieve these goals, I need to work hard, save a lot of money. If I didn't have a relationship I would have already achieved these goals by now. But having a relationship makes it harder, since woman are not careful with money, since children cost a lot of money and a relationship requires time that I can't use to better my skills and abilities. Also, for the sake of our daughter I am "kind of" stuck in Thailand, whereas I might have made more money if I moved to a different high-income country just to work there a couple of years and be done with it.
I think if you look in history you will find many men that achieved great (or sometimes terrible in case of Hitler, Stalin) things, were not reliant on woman to achieve their goals. Some examples: Elon Musk, Newton, Blaise Pascal, Marcus Aurelius, Nicola Tesla, founding fathers of the US, Einstein, etc...
To be honest if our relationship would be over in the future (which I feel might happen at some point due to different views and ways of handling life situations), I would not have another long-term relationship with a woman. Instead I'd life alone, sometimes hire a girl for some fun, but otherwise just focus on my work, my hobbies & my daughter.
