  1. Thanks for the replies so far. Should have added, I am looking for Bangkok area. Seems to be a hard thing to achieve. Don't know why though. Earlier this month I was admitted to hospital. Had to do a test before being moved from ER to room. Test results came back within the hour.
  2. I am looking for a hospital that will provide a fast result (<2hrs, ideally 30 minutes) for either a PCR or an Antigen test suitable for international travels. I have done a google search and also a quick scan of the forum, with this post I am looking for answers from members that either had such a fast result test done themselves or who know of such hospital? Thanks in advance!
  3. JustGrab is a choice within your app that allows you to take a ride at a fixed price that is displayed. Your ride will either be a taxi or private car, whichever accepts your Grab booking.
  4. Of course this is only one picture but it kind of debunks the claim of poor people not being able to afford helmets or fines. I would wager, a lot of people in this position choose to not afford a helmet. After all walking through Klong Toei "slum" are one will see mobile phones in most hands and TV sets in most homes. So what it seem to come down to is priority of spending. As with regards to not being able to afford fines, where I come from one goes to jail equal to the fine value. I bet the prospect of that would sort out the majority of non-compliance to (safety) laws. That obviously touches a whole other topic of corrupt and lazy police force as well as governance.
  5. My personal favorites: Finnair and Austrian Airlines. Finnair business class travel as a whole was a very nice experience everytime I made use of it. Austrian Airlines for their chef on bord. Let's say you only fly business this one time, have a try. Food on Austrian Airlines flight is prepared by a dedicated on flight chef.
  6. Good morning, Would anyone have recommendations for orthopedic specialist to inspect a suspected case of bunionette? I understand there is orthopedic clinics and orthopedic departments at most major hopsitals however, I am looking for specific doctor recommendations from people who have suffered/are suffering from a bunionette. Many thanks in advance, Fabruer
  7. Am I missing something? The spread sheet you posted shows exactly what the article say: per person spending of Europeans and Americans is less than East Asian/ASEAN. Most forum members (including me) won't like this, but from a business point of view it makes sense to chase customers that spend approx. 30% more per day per person in comparison.
  8. Cryptos are no storage of value. They are highly volatile and thus speculative. Diamonds are also a worse storage of value compared as there is a much bigger market for gold than there is for diamonds. Also, the value of gold is easier to determine at any given point in time. Bonds are the only good example that you give. Yet, there is an inherit advantage in gold as a storage of value: historically it's a good hedge against inflation. Bonds are not (except TIPS). Also, in the unlikely case of a total market crash physical gold will be worth something.
  9. Out of curiosity. What would be examples of such weighless stores of value?
  10. That would indeed be a massive upgrade though! Also would cut down on potential talkative encounters, garlic smells, loud music from the radio and telephone calls including long conversations. I know, all can be dealt with but does it really have to happen in the first place? Where available, I find Grab to be a rather great upgrade already. Now, if they went into the pilotless flying business - I would support that.
  11. And who would pilot them. A lot of the current taxi drivers are severely challenged piloting a 4 wheeled vehicle, not to mention a flying one ????
  12. I reckon that's pretty much what's gonna happen in a lot of cases. There are some exceptions though. Thai Watsadu near Mega Bangna always surprises me with most of their staff being service minded. I reckon it comes down to training. Strayed a bit off topic so I am gonna leave it at that. Think we are in agreement anyways.
  13. The park rangers bosses care as much as the rangers themselves, of that I am sure. Else, good luck explaining anything to a Thai employee. When you are done, successfully or not, would you mind opening a thread here? I am sure I am not the only one who would love to hear about your experiences ????????
  14. And you really do believe that park rangers would really care one iota about you making a stand? I believe even employees at a private company wouldn't care. From my experience most employees understanding here it's their boss who pays their salaries, not their customers.
  15. This is probably the most informative reply to this post. Thank you very much!
  16. It sure sorts the chaff from wheat though! ????????????
  17. Another plan. That's exactly what's needed. Best make an additional 10 more plans and never mind actually ordering and paying for enough vaccines. Another alternative is to look at countries with a similar GDP as Bhutan for donations, since that worked out alright *clapclap* /s
  18. I reckon for the same reason why Starbucks isn't successful in Italy ????
  19. Personally, I see only advantages in Gold ETNs (to be precise) with minimal risk: they are cheap (where to store a valuable amount of bullion safely; if bank involved - cost), much more liquid (can be bought/sold within seconds). The leading ETNs hold the equivalent of their fund in bullion gold. Imho, can't go wrong with ETNs if it's part of a portfolio strategy to hedge, eg. against inflation (mind you, there are a lot more options to hedge against inflation). Now, I have heard people saying: what if the financial system crashes so hard that all these funds go bankrupt or can't be traded. I think, if that happens everyone will have other, much more pressing issues at hand than their portfolio as this would be an sh*t hit the fan event of maximum proportions. Which leads to bullion. Imho, bullion is something to build over time and hand down to the next generations. Like a backup for above mentioned scenario.
