It was the BNP who tried to bring it to light and we all know what thanks they got.

I used to teach Pro Tools and Logic, so I'm covered. The coolest thing I just discovered is how to connect an electric keyboard (Roland RD-88) with both audio and usb and get them all to work simultaneously. SUPER layered sound!!!
I just bought my 6 year son a keyboard, trying to keep him interested other than phone games he was asking for a piano, 40 years ago I played accordion and alto sax but don't have a clue about music now, any tips for learning my son

My main point of my post was really about how difficult this one officer made this, also how rude he was to my wife even throwing the papers at her and threating me with police, it seems resolved now the officer has been told off by his superior and been told to issue the book and card, I will find out on Wednesday whey i have to go to the office.

It is not mandatory to have a yellow house book and/or a pink ID card to register for the vaccination. It is only needed to register on the app for the vaccine.
Ok thanks' joe, it's done now.

As i said in a previous post been in thailand 13 years and never needed YB but from what i am reading it's required for registering the vaccine on the thai phone app maybe the pink card also that's the only reason i was trying to get one, anyway after all the problems over the last 8 weeks with this ignorant official who kept telling us to go away the hanging up the phone and finally throwing the paperwork at my wife and telling her if i don't apologize for pointing my finger at him when i said i will be making a report about his behavior, yesterday my wife spoke to the IO in buriram he made a call to the amphor also a friend of my wife knows a woman who has been working there for years she said this official has been moved several times from other amphor offices for causing problems and she would speak to the top man upstairs, my wife got a call to go upstairs she was told IO had phoned he said go back down to this official's office and tell him he has to write on the paperwork why he is refusing me a YB but he would not write anything, then the top man appeared he was told to come out his office and reprimanded in front of the other staff and also to forget about going to the police, the YB and pink card are now being processed and then my friend has to sign it off, thanks for the replies just glad it's sorted

...is that definitely a requirement.....or just your Amphoe office ?
I dont know if it's a requirement, but here it is a couple of expats living here got YB and pink card with no problem but it was a different official then, my wife has been on the phone all day and found out interesting news on this guy it seems he was transferred from another office because he caused some problems there, 3 other women in our village had problems with him over not wanting to issue birth certificate and ID card, she also spoke to the immigration office who has been doing my 90 days for years he say's when he refused do issue a YB he must write on the paperwork why he has refused then we go to see him he will take us to another gov dep who oversee all the amphur offices and they will sort it, he was extremely helpful and on a sunday too, maybe have to pay ''double time '' joking.

this is update to my problem with this man, on friday when he hung the phone up on my wife we drove to the office my wife was told to get out and he .threw the paperwork at her, I said to him I was going to make a police report about him, today she got a call from the village boss this official had called him and said I must come to his office on monday morning and apologize to him or he is going to the police to make a complaint about me as I spoke badly to him and I will have to pay him 2000b, my thinking is I stay away from there on monday and my wife will go and see his boss she has been on the phone all day it appears he has been moved from another office to here another friend who works there said he is very unpopular and caused many problems two other women in our village also had problems with him over birth certificates, so worst case scenario I might need a lawyer as I have no intention of apologizing or paying him, if anyone can recommend a lawyer I am located 100k near lahansai

Tessaban staff appear ranked lowest civil servants here, below even DLT......., bottom with Rail officials.
Below Ministry / Military / Police/ Immigration / Amphur / DLT
Evident in typical extreme bad attitude to foreigners at functional level for Civil Reg. (Yellow Book)
YB Tabien Baan is the ONLY route for Foreigner National ID ( Pink Card).
Both YB and ID are almost completely useless, no material benefit, except replacing COR.
Neither should be needed for vax reg. although ID over 60 is very useful ( required) to negotiate vax centre “favours” like Appt without QR Code /Best Appt Time/ Priority Attention / Hospital Cert Issue,/ Earliest 2nd Jab.
Certain notorious Phuket Tessaban really put me through the ringer BUT they did issue YB..... 12 wks.
Many Tessaban simply refuse.......
Without my educated thai lady, making initial enquiry, interview with municipal boss, holding local blue book reg., answering continous rude personal questions, pulling in other thai witnesses, fending off showstoppers like full birth cert with parents names ( try explaining UK Adoption with Different Father & Name Change) , staying patient and poker faced with the blasted jealous municipal MFWIC
( mother fecker whats in charge), would have withdrawn from process early on. it became an obstacle / endurance course, with my excellent lady carrying me on her strong shoulders ! lost count of number of trips to phuket town for services and documents......police fingerprinting, Embassy and Ministry Passport Certificates......
this was what started the problem after 5 visits I asked my wife to speak more strong and not keep taking his <deleted>, then told to leave paperwork thrown at her

The sad reality is that, when it comes to issuing yellow books, amphurs are in serious competition with immigration offices and (when it comes to opening accounts for foreigners) banks for the annual Great Thai Master Of Inconsistency award.
I agree with you on that, I thought if you jumped through all the hoops and had all the relevant paperwork it was there duty to issue a yellow book, I said in a earlier post I have never needed one before but it sounds like where I live I need this to register for a vaccine, my wife will try again on monday with the boss of the village but go to this fools boss on the top floor, failing that it's either give up or hire a lawyer which would be the last resort.

I understand there is a main amphur's office in the city (of the province you live in) where you can go and make your application and complain about the local office.
I had trouble myself but got it on the 3rd visit.
The office is in the town 2k from my village, my wife will try again on monday but bypass the nasty piece of work, it's clear he dose not want me to have a yellow book and pink card. thanks for reply

please explain

No
All you need is permission from the homeowner to get one but many Amphoes will put up roadblocks to make it as difficult as possible.

In many countries there are people who work in positions of bureaucracy doing as little as possible. In Thailand, that’s positions of bureaucracy come with a uniform and farcical element of power which makes the term ‘public servant’ somewhat of an oxymoron!

Op do you know any ‘Thais with a higher profile’ ??? They may be able to help.
My Wife & I had a problem with a rude amphur officer. She (the amphitheater officer refused to give us her name, refused to give us her bosses name).
That evening we told my FiL who was furious. He made a call, within 15 mins the Senior guy called up to apologise.
Options: get a respected Thai person to call up and make an appointment with a senior officer.
Once there he will likely delegate to a junior, even the same one, but you may achieve your objective.
thanks, I used to know the top police man here we went to see him after this happened today but he is no longer here, for now my wife will go back on monday with the boss of the village and see how that goes

Sadly I think this is the only real solution, you could ask your puyai baan to accompany you as he likely knows the boss and can use some influence. A small gratuity for puyai baan would not be out of order if he gets a result.
Thank's my wife is going back on monday and see if she can see his boss and explain how this fool is behaving, I thought they were public servants in that office if she has no luck will try boss of village.

Throw papers at your Mrs and was very rude to her.
I'd go everyday until the boss was there to deal with your reasonable request.
As for the other guy I know what I would do but can't post it.

Last time I went back spent 3 weeks in England and 2 weeks in Scotland I had enough and returned to Thailand, just before covid hit was going to take my wife and son back and buy a camper van and tour around the Highlands then I looked at some blogs on youtube of some people already doing this, one guy was stuck in his camper as the rain and wind battered down all day.
But I do miss fish and chips. and Ubiquitous Chip.
