There is no doubt the whole system is corrupt. The people who are honest and play by the rules are penalised.
Not the whole system, geographically speaking in some places, namely Buriram, there are no agents. As a consequence for legit people such as myself, the level of pain remains acceptable. But in the current context this could well change.

I dare to believe that this may give us an element of answer. 875 000 Bahts is 72000 a month, so most retiree would/should (roughly) belong to the top 10% household incomes. I could understand if Thai authorities wanted to enforce this, strictly on the basis of cost/benefit/risk analysis.
Then, of course the higher income middle to high income brackets are the main source of income tax, with the obvious exception of the very high incomes who can buy themselves into exemption. So why not having a look in applying that to all long term residents? Therefore, yes gentlemen, we may well face a situation were we would be asked to help solving the income inequality issue.
Interestingly Malaysia has, very explicitly, income tax exemption for foreign retirees.

125th for personal freedom! Just ahead of some African and middle east countries I guess. The TM30 and 90 days report are indeed very consistent with such ranking.
<deleted> am I doing here?

I had to explain every usage of the F word to my girlfriend and why it is not always a horrible insult.
The thing is that every time I deal with Thais I walk away mumbling "F...wits, F...wits..". They don't seem to understand that one. Maybe my French accent.

Looks like you misuse your non O visa. There is no 90 days report, whether it is single or multi won't make any difference you must leave the country every 90 days.
Unless you get an extension of stay, which you must apply for about a month before your 90 days expire.

I dropped True when they dropped HBO and all the other channels i watched. AIS Play works for me and a whole lot cheaper.
Are other AIS services required to get AIS Play? Fiber, mobile? Or can it just be a standalone thing running off any ISP connection?
The thing is I am happy with TOT, and anyway, it is the only fiber service available in our village.

Have 2 kids in Europe, and now two girls, aged 4 and 8. I got a vasectomy, as planned once we got the second one. The funny thing is that we still have people asking us if we are trying to have a boy, bear in mind that I am 67 ! But T.I.T.

I really love this illustration of Thai thinking: not enough water? drill wells and seed clouds. What about a long term plan for a new agricultural production less demanding on water resources? These guys are just totally reactive, completely unable to think out of their tiny box.
I will abstain to mention their "90 days report" and TM30 solutions to address criminality issues in the kingdom.

Highly ironic that some Ineos (ex Sky) riders are now doing some finger pointing at Alaphilippe, deliberately ignoring the fact that he is UCI's N˚1 rider, after 4 years of linear progression. Unlike some of their riders, the most prominent of which had abrupt upturns in their performance following massive losses of weight, Aicar induced as everyone knew.

Easy to answer. Endurance activities, such as cycling, raise your endorphin levels, hence blur our all the aches and ailments of old age as I am nearly 67. I used to hike, sometimes climb, a lot around Geneva, but that's not possible here in Issan. However I may consider buying a "sit on top" Kayak, when the water comes back to the lakes.

which bank in Thailand does the peg, maybe interesting for me
My pension fund (UNJSPF), gives me that option. Doubt any bank would do it.

Sorry for hijacking the topic somewhat: I can, and might do it, peg my pension to a USD/THB conversion rate range of 31.47 to 33.5, hence losing out whenever the USD goes over 33.5, but with the peace of mind given by the bottom rate. I would not e be allowed to reverse this.
Would you do it?

I would say that the southern part of Buriram province would be the closest to the sea in Chantaburi.
Pin here for a town near the Buriram border with Sa Kaeo province. https://goo.gl/maps/R3VwS57aVyQ2
That's where I am living. Takes two days to get to Koh chang: 5 to 6 hours to get to Soi Dao, and 3 to 4 hours to get to KC, including the ferry. Plenty of mad drivers in Chantaburi, so not a good idea to get there tired.

Being a long term user of PPIs, for having Barett's esophagus, I have found out that timing is of the essence. For instance, I used Inexium 40mg, and later 2x20mg miracid (omeprazole). The latter first as 2x20mg bedtime and later 20mg at bedtime and 20mg before breakfast. Now I take, once, 20mg between 3 and 4 pm, with an early, not too heavy, dinner between 4:40 and 6 pm; works marvels.
One fact one must be aware of is that Omeprazole gets damaged, hence less effective, if exposed for too long to stomach acidity. So taking it one or tow hours before dinner allows it to transit faster though the stomach. When I forget to take it, and/or indulged, I take it with Antacil (antacid) to limit stomach acidity.

Seems that you go to hotels that don't abide by the TM30 rule.
