  1. Hello,

I am thinking to open a crypto.com account, mainly coz I like some of their prepaid Visa card benefits.

Would I be better off to use my Thai address (with Thai Driver License as verification) or my EU address (with passport validation)?

How long would it take for me to receive my card after I opened an account, in your direct experience with crypto.com?

Thanks for all your help, I am new to crypto and I don't plan to trade a lot, so any hints would be great.

  2. I wanted to get an International License in Chiang Mai too.

At the window I was told validity was only one year, cost for IDP car license 500 THB, and I have to specify the country for which the license was valid. Those restrictions were not attractive for me, so I passed.

Did you also get a license valid one year for only one country or did I misunderstand the questions?

  3. As a newcomer to the area, she is not at all well connected here and it is good to have someone who has had experience to guide you in the right direction.

I was thinking that many expats here have experience with real estate companies and could point her in the right direction so that she can avoid choosing a company and then after 6 months realize that the company is not as good as it seemed.

She is my neighbor and has a family of four to support, so I would like to help her avoid this kind of experience and I hope that many members of this forum would be kind enough to make some suggestions and save her some time and frustration.

  4. Hello,

a friend of mine who was successfully developing and dividing land and building and selling houses in the larger Bangkok area moved with her family to CM for some personal reasons.

I would like to recommend some good real estate companies to her so that she can apply for a position as a commissioned agent.

I think her extensive real estate knowledge and her excellent sales skills would be an asset to any company in this field.

Could you please tell me who you think are some of the best companies in this field in Chiang Mai?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Where is this place located?

It is hard for a new medical business to establish itself by honest word of mouth advertisement.

It is equally hard for potential patients to ascertain the quality of the practitioner.

Please take this caveat in the confusing medical field.

I would be interested to hear reliable reports of any  reputable members to the above practitioner.

Alternatively there is an established Osteopathic doctor in Chiang Mai:

    Dr. Ben Thompson
    Chiang Mai Osteopathy

    +66 83 832 5805

Charges 1000 THB for diagnosis and chiropractic(?) manipulation

Osteopath with degrees from University of Cambridge and London School of Hygiene

Office is north of Ruamchok Mall

    Chiang Mai Osteopathy
    083 804 0605

He is very knowledgeable and his degrees are impressive.

When I went to him with a friend I was expecting the gentle osteopathic treatments familiar to me. I was surprised when his treatments of my friend included more seemingly traditional chiropractic elements. I didn't want to cut into the allotted 30min time of my friend so I didn't get a chance to ask for the reason.

  6. My two year trial licenses for car and moto  expires middle of October.

I suppose I should walk in to the DMV and bring

1.) Medical Certificate (original and copy for car and moto)

2.) Certificate of Residence (original and copy for car and moto)

    3.) Passport with TM30

    4.) Old Trial Driver Licenses

    5.) Photos

to now get a permanent 5 year license and at the same time an international license.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

Do I have to do an online test? At what link?

How many days is the grace period after which I cannot upgrade the trial license to 5 year license any more?

    Thanks for your help. ????

  7. As far as my experience goes not inside the Euro Zone, meaning from a Wise account held inside the Euro zone to a non-Wise bank account also inside the Euro zone. I usually transfer money in the afternoon Europe time, which may also be a factor.

Inside the Euro zone there are two different transfer choices which most banks give: SEPA and Instant. Wise automatically transfers via SEPA which is not instant, but takes a day.

Unless things changed with Wise... ???? But that was my experience.

Outside the Euro zone, and especially for Baht, Wise is usually instant except in Thailand when you transfer larger amounts or you specify Long Term Stay reason during transfer to get an FTT mark in your passbook. Then it can take a day if you initiate the transfer in the afternoon Thailand time. Morning transfers *may* be faster.

However overall Wise is IMO the easiest, safest, and best all around money transfer service and my go to provider. Just in special cases - as I laid out above - Revolut is minimally cheaper.

  8. I have tried both.

They both have my foreign address, not Thai.

I found Revolt to be minimally cheaper on very small transfers to Thailand as long as you stay within your monthly rolling fair use limit, and Wise becomes cheaper on larger transfer above a few hundred dollars.

Revolt has the advantage of free and instant transfers inside of Europe, whereas Wise needs at least a day inside the Euro zone.

Generally Wise is cheaper to most destinations and it seems easier to use in my opinion.

Their debit cards are both good. Revolut has some bells and whistles which I don't use much.
