Siam Legal replied the following to my "statutory declaration strategy":

Your proposal of stat Dec, yes you can do that as long as your stat Dec are certified by your embassies in bangkok.

The stat dec must follow the template the same as the marriage affirmation.

If it does now conform to the same format or template it will not be accepted by thai authorities.

Think it's easier to move to another country than to rely on "Thai Authorities" developing the required lateral thinking skills for this issue but anyway.

@ThailandRyan shall we try to find a Thai marriage affirmation template? I might be willing to spent another day at the embassy in BKK and get the custom affirmation form stamped by the Myanmar embassy.

I'll make contact with lawyers from Yangon. Will let you know if I find anyone willing to get us the required documents send over.

Not only that but we also need the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Myanmar translate these documents to English before anything can be done in Thailand.
We also have to consider that that in Myanmar everything is still done on paper. There are no serial numbers or fancy computer systems. 
And the fact that not a single country in the world would accept a paper from Myanmar or a registered marriage due to human trafficking concerns. 
I believe we will have to travel to a western country with more modern laws that understand the situation, where the law can see that we've been together and engaged for many years and therefore grant our wish for marriage.

If that doesn't work out I'll change my gender to female and become the spouse ????

I'm trying to get married with my Fiance who's originally from Myanmar.  First Covid made travel impossible. Now their military is causing mayhem.

I was wondering if anyone knows a Thai lawyer that's not too lazy to work around the issues of not being able to summon a single status certificate due to obvious reasons.

In western countries one can "simply" do a statutory declaration. I was wondering if it's possible in Thailand to swear you are single in front of a legal representative?

We've already visited the Myanmar embassy in BKK but they simply refuse to offer such document. Go back to your home country they say lol

I called my language class today and they said I have to extend the visa anyway bcs the immigration is open
And something like have to extend it within 10 days of expiry and 500 baht overstay fine because it is my own fault.
I can only pray for local flights to be available again within the next two weeks. Otherwise it will be up to chance, that they will still extend it after July 31st/ me having to make a new visa.  

I feel gaslighted by both my language class and immigration because there is so much conflicting information on immigration website, their facebook and the gazette...????
 

So what is going to happen in two days?

My education visa is going to run out in a couple of weeks and there are no means to travel there unless I drive 10h with a rented car ????

Always avoid female IOs at the border. They seem to have the need to outscore their male counterparts. 

I almost got t-boned by a driver running over the red light at the intersection before .
It is impossible to see the waiting traffic to the left because there is a small hill and the first road one has to cross is actually for the traffic turning from the right.

Went to the police station in the city to catch the reckless driver. They said I have to go to the police station far outside chiang mai city and that was it.

Reckless driving is not an issue here I guess until something or someone gets damaged.

That is actually the point behind the visa fee - to keep the poor third world "tourists" out.

Actually that fee was also increased to keep out poor (chinese) tourist groups who get a discount for the travel but are then send on a shopping tour at foreign owned companies. 

Not sure if I got the last part 100% correct but the initial idea behind it is to keep out poor people. Hence there will never be a land border visa on arrival for people from Myanmar.

Although I think compared to europe, thailand still has the problem to only tax income " from employment or business in Thailand, or assets located in Thailand, whether such income is paid in or outside of Thailand"[1]

And that might be the reason we can not get a work permit. It is all connected; or limited by the law in this case.

One an always open a company here but everyone knows it is not that easy here either.

Actually one would need a good tax lawyer when wanting to stay over 180 days. I know in europe you would have to pay income tax regardless.  https://transferwise.com/us/blog/income-tax-in-thailand double taxation agreements come into play as well.

Let's all pay taxes then shall we? Oh wait, we can't actually pay taxes because we can not get a work permit. Since we neither have a business in Thailand nor money coming from Thailand.

Else why would one pay taxes, when still having to deal with tourist visas? What do you pay taxes for? For staying 60 days and then being denied entry? I don't think so ????

Let's face it, it is not us who need to stop working from a laptop, there is nothing illegal with that.  It is the government who has to regulate such things. 

I am happy to pay taxes if I am allowed to stay here. 

They could just keep your passport and have someone escort you to the ATM. Sometimes they are flexible (even without tip). it's also less work for them than sending you back.

At the border they once let me go to a copy shop on the Thai site so I could print out some documents from my school.

Maybe they have to reach quotas every month so they go after obvious cases like OP?

Some visa expert should make a checklist of documents to bring when arriving to Thailand to have everything "in order". Starting with the boarding pass ????

A lot of people here also seem to forget that logic is to be left behind at the border. So you can't really judge their behvior as malevolent against us foreigners. Like not* giving you the option to withdraw money.

You should get an ed visa instead. A lot of people on volunteer visas got burned and with your history of tourist visas.... it does not look good either.
