Not sure why it was accepted in October of last year. Immigration posted an announcement about it on January 20th, 2017.

I fill in a photocopy of a TM7 form that I've had for a few years before I go to immigration. And because there's next to no difference between the old form and the new it must have been overlooked. But at the end of the day it didn't make any difference in obtaining my extension. This is what is wrong with immigration. They nit pick. But when it comes to being dishonest and paying tea money they can look the other way. Hypocrites.

I would have preferred to have an annex at Robinson's where I could have done my 90 days reports, TM30, and reentry permits.

Nice enough if you live relatively near to Buriram but Online reporting would be one step in the right direction for those, like myself, who live some distance away. But why should Buriram have an annex? Korat and Kap Choeng do not have one and they are all in the same Immigration Division.

So from zero offices and a 240km round trip two years ago, Buriram now has TWO.

Do they need 2 offices? No. They barely get enough customers as it is. This is why they won't allow 90 day report online. They are just trying to justify their manning levels. I was in Buriram IO today and, as always, given the runaround.

First I was told my bankbook hadn't been updated. Okay, off to to the bank to do that. Gets back to the office and hands over a filled out TM7. I was given it back and told to fill out a new one as it had change. For the life of me I couldn't really see the difference except for the 'NOTICE' under your signature. Before there were 3 notifications and now the new form only has 2.

Then I handed over my updated bank book. Officer says 'the money hasn't been in the bank for the full three months''. Now my missus bites and tells the guy it has but he wouldn't have it. He was insistent but eventually backed down when another officer looked and said the money was okay.

I was asked for a photo for the filled out TM7. Last year a different officer told me I didn't need a photo as they took the picture with the camera connected to their computer. The officer who told me last year about 'no photo' needed denied he said that. What a ......... Luckily I had one in my documents folder.

Nah, Buriram IO is only after tea money. They don't want to help honest expats. They'd rather bend over backwards to help people who they can extort money out off.

    F..... Buriram Immigration. Rant over.

An extension based upon marriage could be applied for the day after registering a marriage.

Has that always been the case? I married in March 2006. I went for a 'Marriage Extension' at Kap Choeng in the November. I was refused having been told I had to have been legally married for minimum 12 months.

Yes i did use the Korat Immigration office recently.

I think the OP was referring to 2006 when the Korat Immigration office was in the 'Assumption School' nextdoor to St Mary's hospital. Since there it has moved 4 times.

  6. At the beginning of this year I kept getting requests from my UK bank regarding my paying of tax in Thailand. My wife is named in my joint account also received these notifications. They also wanted something called a 'TIN'. I haven't a clue as to what they were on about as I don't, or my wife, pay tax in Thailand.

Anyway after about 4 requests for this info we received no more. Can someone please explain in simple terms why they need to know how much I pay tax here?

    You can't legislate safety.

Yes you can but it all boils down to the police to enforce it.

Proposed ban on young pillion riders sparks outrage

Parents and motorcyclists have expressed disagreement with the Office of Consumer Protection's (OCP's) proposed plan to ban young pillion passengers from riding on motorcycles. (See another article on the debate over the ban here ).

The plan is drawing the ire of parents and motorcyclists, saying motorcycles are the best mode of transport in the city and an ideal choice for people who cannot affordcars.

They expressed their views Thursday after an OCP executive meeting on Wednesday. It was decided at the meeting that relevant state agencies be urged to help push for the ban

Weerachai Chomsakorn, deputy secretary-general of the OCP, said meeting attendeeshad agreed to ban pillion passengers under the age of six from riding on motorcycles.

The move is in response to an increasing number of motorcycle accidents leaving children injured and killed, he said.

  8. Great reply here regarding Thai drivers.Whoever thinks most Thai drivers are tooled up are living in a dream.

Compared to the UK, I find Thai drivers generally don't display aggression. Appalling lack of anticipation; total lack of understanding about why tailgating is potentially lethal; out in the country, total lack of road sense; etc etc. But road rage? Occasionally from a BMW driver, but in general Thais seem very accepting of being cut up etc. I put it down to a mixture of Buddhism and 'mai pen rai'.

  9. Sounding ones horn applies to anywhere in the world. It's called 'driving etiquette';. With regards to road rage I've never seen any road rage here in 13 years and I assure all I use my horn lots when some Somchai deserves it. And I'd lay odds that road rage is more common in the UK than here.

A few drops of Tea-Tree oil

Just put a few drops on the scalp before bedtime and massage in. Repeat once a week.

Research has found that a 1 percent tea tree oilsolution is capable of killing 100 percent head licewithin 30 minutes. ... After performing a patch test, apply few drops of tea tree oil on the patient's scalp, and let it sit overnight. The following morning, the hair can be combed through to remove the dead lice.

This will create a warm environment that will help open up and unclog your follicles. Wait with the towel on for 20 minutes and then rinse out the oil with shampoo and conditioner. Optionally, you can leave the oil in your hair overnight.
