Nothing new, drunk and walking the streets.
Lots of taxis, motorcycle taxis.
He won't do it again.
This happens worldwide, he wouldn't do it in his home city.
A lesson to all.
No sympathy and I speak from personal experience.

Anyone else remember the pound at around 70 baht to the pound?
The Kingdom was heaving with tourists, very little crime, Thailand people pleased to welcome tourists, clean beaches and a safe and secure LOS?
People came to the Kingdom knowing what to expect
I doubt if many of these things will ever return but wouldn't it be nice?
Any thoughts?

If I remember correctly most Thailand people wear masks regardless. I think the trend will not go away whatever the government says.
I will be continue wearing mine.
Personally I don't see a problem with it.

Chuck them all in the click, few days or weeks of a Thai prison and unless its mob related they will be singing like canaries !
I agree. The sooner the better

Hopefully (very likely) there will be some evil Thai prisoners awaiting his arrival in prison and I think his days will be short lived.

I hope they catch the guy
I would suggest that the son decides to put all his time in the night shift and stops leaving his poor old mom in danger.

Somebody will eventually get a sniper and he will be enjoying the depths and fire of hell with Hitler.
The Russian people leaving Thailand and across the world will have some truths to tell their friends family and colleagues when they return.

I have to wonder if his mate in the picture is Nigerian!?
70,000 raised already anyway and I am sure the figure will increase regardless.
The company and his own insurance should be helping. If he is legally in Thailand there shouldn't be a problem.
I can only think he wants 5 star private hospital for the duration of his treatment.
I hope he gets well and beats the disease as he did with the drugs
More info to come on this story.

Don't complain, comply.
You would be moaning and and you give a groining if the outcome was not favourable.
They do something nice for you give a gratuity for the service. (Bars, restaurant do the same)
Wake up and smell the roses.

I have never heard of a single person who conducts themselves in a responsible, polite and unrelated to criminal activity ever being shot, attacked or assaulted in Thailand.

Corruption will stay forever.
Sometimes it's s good thing sometimes it's bad.
Open the windows and give 300baht or go to court and all that entails....
Under the table works well for the non criminals exceptionally well
Don't you agree?

In my humble opinion; the vast majority of the Thailand people have been tested. Some have not bothered, don't want it, can't have it or are rushing to get it. This is a worldwide problem and nothing will change. Vaccinated tourists will catch it in Thailand or anywhere else from the unvaccinated.
It is no secret what happens to tourists in Thailand regardless of what they might say for their "5 minutes of fame."
Everyone has a choice, travel or don't travel.
I am desperate to return to see my Thai wife, however, my choice is to remain in the U.K. for the time being. I do not want to sit on a plane for 14 hours to arrive, possibly catch it on the plane or during quarantine and have to pay a small fortune to a private hospital. This is my choice, however, if people want to take the risk that is their own personal choice.
I might be right or I might be wrong, only time will tell.

I have every TEFL/TESOL certificate imaginable, 30 years of teaching experience including Thailand, however, I do not have a degree making it impossible for me to teach in Thailand again.
I would gladly give my time and energy along with my experience for free, again an impossibility..
Something needs to change for the sake of the Thai children.

IMO the Teacher who did this should have gone with the student to the school gate and explained the situation to the parent.
Easy and simple solution.
