Is “American” a race?
When you allow people with tickets into a ballgame, and disallow people without rickets you discriminate against non-ticket holders
Come on, you know blacks are considered 'a race' when it suits BLM etc. You know Arabs consider themselves not only a race but a single nation across borders (religion's a b*tch). These things don't follow their strict meanings at all any more.

It is discriminatory, but how is it racist?
Just as requiring Chinese citizens to have have a visa, but allowing US citizens in with just their passport is discriminatory, but it is not racist.
I said either/or, but in fact if you allow something to only American citizens but to no other nationality, isn't that racist? Racism doesn't have to be towards a single race, does it? Anyway, I don't have a dog in this fight, so whatever. ????

Actually, dual pricing is common in the US as well.
I didn't know that. Isn't it called out as racist or discriminatory by Biden's lot? I guess as it's not blacks being singled out it doesn't set off their radar.

How is it a 'freak' accident, just the usual motor vehicle/bicycle tragedy, carelessness on one or both sides. So sad. I told my wife long ago that we are never riding bicycles in Thailand. The combination of careless driving (certainly not only by Thais) and terrible or nonexistent road repairs make most two/three wheeled vehicles potential deathtraps.

I'd love to read about it.
Go to third floor Nana Plaza and get your own!

Not them all, most of the ones that work as prostitutes in tourist areas are not worthy of respect - wouldn't trust them at all.
I do understand that, I'm sure they attain a certain mindset from their peers when they start that job. But they're only a subset of the katoey population of Thailand (I don't know the statistics), I suppose they're the only ones that many farang come across (I didn't intend that pun but I'll leave it in, oops, another one....).

Condoning a slap for a person who is transgender when you find things are not as you expected is not the way to go.

I have not disagreed with this in any way. You said:
The man deserves nothing as you suggest.
'The man' apparently meaning the katoey (ladyboy). That's what I commented on.
Perhaps it's you who is confused here? That was my only comment.

You called a ladyboy a man, or did I get that wrong? I'm just saying that I don't. My friend's daughter is one (was her son but decided at a very young age being male wasn't for her).

I do refer to katoey as 'she'. It seem reasonable to allow them dignity.

There are certain acts one commits in this life, that are tantamount to self revocation of the right to consume oxygen.
Murder as a punishment for deception being one of them, you mean.

Reminds me of Begbie in Trainspotting when he found out the girl he had picked up had a cock.
Every red-blooded male has been fooled by ladyboy prostitutes, to varying degrees. I'm not suggesting the deceased was a prostitute but ....
My friend was fooled in Korea the same week he began working there. When he left the shower she was in bed already looking like a dream. He flicked the sheet back there it was. He began screaming and smashing his fists on the wall, she jumped out of bed, and down the apartment building corridor sharpish. He stripped the bed and slept under a towel with a rugby shirt for a pillow that night. I just don't know why they believe every foreigner can tell them from females, it might be sensible to give some hint before it gets to the nitty-gritty! ????

My god where did they drag up the word 'toothsome'? A word not in general circulation for many decades. I'd wager less than 5 percent of readers would even understand it if read out of context. ????

No, but if you want to speak as though race DOESN'T EXIST, you're the one in huge denial. Once again you're just shooting down your own comments with your self unawareness.... ????
I really did want to ignore you, but this is just too funny....

you remind me of the paranoid old farangs I've met in bars entries and public places etc., they show little understanding of Thailand and just think everyone is conspiring against them. Basically their dearly held racist views suggest they should be superior and they spend their time compensating for the obvious fact they aren't. This normally takes the form of endlessly negatively stereotyping Thai people and using wild generalisations, all from a point of gross ignorance. Of course Thai people sense this - they are often right about "dirty" too.
It is a sad fact that your self-obsessive feelings of thwarted superiority will mean you will never integrate into Thai society..... and never learn
You're actually a walking apology for racism. I have no problem at all with Thais, nor with all the Indians and Filipinos I worked with for many years in the UAE. You see, we're not actually talking about me. Anyway, as I said, I'm done with trying to point out your errors.

there's stupid, stupider and then there's racist.
This is neither racist nor Xenophobia.
the restriction apply to non- Thais regardless of race creed or colour. Xenophobia is a fear of foreigners and this policy is not motivated by fear - possibly a misplaced national;ism, which is common amongst military-based regimes.
Oh really? A country where the people in charge, that make the rules, talk about 'dirty farang? You're being wilfully blind, whilst ridiculously accusing posters here of racism because they talk about the xenophobia (possibly racism, I already explained the overlap between the two words) which you yourself admit exists in societies of this type, proudly exhibited as nationalism: 'we're better than every other race'....
If dual pricing was just to allow poor Thais to visit, it should also charge better off Thais a higher price, not just foreigners. Others have pointed out that nowhere in Western countries would such a policy be allowed , as it would 100 percent be considered racist.
I'm done with you now, you're just rehashing the same lame words again and again to different commenters here. You're blind and wish to remain so. Up to you.

Sorry, this is dumb. White people can be racially discriminated against, and for them to call it out is NOT racist. What are you talking about?
Anyway if a person is xenophobic, they also are by definition racist, just against every 'foreign' race. The only slight distinction possible is the dictionary definitions, fear is not necessarily hatred, but the two do go hand in hand very often, and the words are often used interchangeably, even by the media .

Durian ice cream
A five star hotel in Singapore had it on their Sunday brunch buffet once. I was really surprised. Not as strong an aroma as the fruit itself, but the lady I was with has a very sensitive nose, she actually picked it up from across the restaurant.

I've heard this before but ignored it. Maybe I should pay attention to the science in future.
Waiting to see a film in the Odeon Leicester Square in London long ago, I bought a durian in Soho's Chinatown to eat later. I had it tightly double wrapped in two plastic bags, one over another, seemed airtight. After a while on my seat, you could smell it two rows forward and back. Luckily daytime cinema, and hardly anyone in. ????

He gave her permission for safebreaking and jewellery theft, no doubt....

Why isn't a valid Thai driving licence enough to show you are invested in Thailand? I think I remember I did show it once at the BKK snake farm a few years ago and was charged as a local.

Don't overcomplicate it, just ask for passport if they must
So the ticket desk must riffle through every passport to find a valid permit to stay? Queueing heaven.
