For crying out loud, will they please stop avoiding the issue and tell us one way or the other if there is going to be a further booze ban or not? Other than causing misery for many people, I can't see what effect it can really have with numbers so low now.

It will effect EVERY part of your life.

It must be to do with the giving of govt. money to Somchai. What do you think he will spend it on?

Sit down and chill. You made the choice to stay here. No alcohol... locals accept it. If you need it, go to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, or wherever else cheap hand..err beers are available.

Went with my 2nd under consideration stamp today, Jomtien office. Can confirm the exact same thing happend there.

Just pointed to the sign about amnesty and shushed me away. So guess everyone is in the clear.

@ogge  I'm not sure how you can have 2 'under consideration' stamps. Maybe your stamp expired? I think you will 'guess' wrong. You need to go back and take care of your 'under consideration'. I hope that I am wrong, but better to be safe.

That would be nice but ...

The mother can't be sued as she was not driving the car. The injured parties can take the driver to court and if found guilty (surely he would be) they could be awarded a sum determined by the court. But getting paid is another matter entirely. Seems that the Mother ain't going to help in that regard.

The mother is the owner of the car (therefore, it is her property which she is in control of , therefore responsible for). The driver of said property will not be held liable for the crash, as he is under the legal driving age. The mom's insurance will be held liable. Insurance should cover the vehicle, not the driver.

One person's property caused harm to another person.

Mom needs to go before the court and explain why baby (Nong) Somchai was driving the car. Her answer will be "He took it without permission, I am not responsible". This will need to be discussed in the proceedings.

Baby (Nong) Somchai needs to go to juvenile detention for 6 months and learn how to be a real Somchai, if he can survive it. Afterwards, needs to be picking up garbage on the city streets for 2 hours per day for 1 year.

If that were me on my motorbike that he hit, I would have played dead and racked up the most charges at hospital. <deleted> finding them... their little bit of money will do fine. That's a 2 million baht payout with a <deleted> attorney, 8 million with a good one.

  4. Quoting @Finlaco    "Today, now @ MTT - from a very polite IO.  There are two choices.  If u don't get the final stamp you will be ok to exit the country BUT if in future u need to further extend the stay, you need to complete the process first."

I had used my final extension and was due to leave country to get a new visa from abroad on 30March. I had no more extensions available. I have a Single Entry Non-O visa (90 days on entry + 60 days extended). My 60 day extension ended on the 30 March.

I must stress again everyone, see an Immigration Officer, not the interns. IO have a hard time understanding what is happening. Imagine the information that the queue boys and girls have.

Stay safe and enjoy life all!

  5. @Finlaco

The infograph (all 'visas' are exempt until 31 July) was also shown to me at the queue line from the person in charge of numbers. I had to stress 'Under Consideration'. Wifey requested a queue number to speak to IO which ultimately got my stamp carrying on extension of stay UNTIL 28 April, after which the emergency visa takes place until 31 July.

These people who give the queue numbers ARE NOT Immigration Officers, I suppose they are cheap wage (or free interns). Please, every one, demand a queue number and see an official Immigration Officer. Get your 'Under Consideration' stamp finalized! I think that overstay will occur if you don't.

    Cheers all, and stay safe!

  6. At Chaengwattana I got 1 'under consideration' stamp on 30 March when my single entry non-o (60 day extension) expired. They gave me under consideration until 27 April.

I returned to Chaengwattana on 27 April. They stamped my passport with an extension that expired on 28 April and told me I was good under the emergency thing until 31 July.

I wasn't going to go, but luckily, for once, I listened to my wife and she was correct (for once haha). I needed to get the under consideration stamp cleared.

They did re-stamp my passport and I did have to wait for them to do it, they did not dismiss me. Be leary of dismissals, I fear you may be in for possible overstay and that would be a bad 'surprise!'.

I will attach pics of my stamps after the non-o 60 day extension (my first Wuhan Flu 'under consideration' and the accepted under consideration).

    1. non-0 extension until 30 March

2a. Top stamp Under Consideration from 30 March-27 April

2b. Bottom stamp (according to wifey) : has to do with having          US Embassy letter requesting emergency extension

    3. Extension granted until 28 April: now covered by emergency        extension until 31 July

I hope this helps. All was done at Chaengwattana.

Any questions I'll try to help.

Not surprised..looks a lot like the Swanson frozen meals that commonly sell for one Dollar in the US.  The Marie Calendar are much better, and even the Stouffer's..they took a lot of the salt out, several years ago, but still has plenty.

Swanson is better. At least you can have 2 or 3 pies mixed together. CP gets their hands in it and it turns to <deleted>. Could you imagine a CP branded Swanson pie...or anything for that matter. CP is pretty gross.

Thanks for all of the replies. For those that are and have been affected My thoughts and sympathies go out to you.

Let's all just stay in and stay safe. I've posted a few trolling comments lately, but I sincerely hope for and wish the best for everyone.

He hopes to keep the death between 100,000 and 200,000

What a joke for a human being, let alone a president.

A wonderful gesture from the company that makes the worlds most toxic product that is actually sold as a drink that they tell you is good for you.  Would be great if other big companies followed their lead and diverted advertising money to research,

Where do you read that it's the "World's most toxic drink"? Where can I find an article in which the Coca-Cola Company states that it's good for you?

  12. What does your name and anyone being able to read English have to do with it? I think we all contribute to Thai society by spending our money here and frequenting their businesses.

Oh no! Do you know who I am? OMG!! I must change my ID stat!   ????

  15. Hey all,

So the latest news is that there is an alcohol ban starting YESTERDAY. Can you still publicly buy beer or alcohol near you? All of the 7-11 and 'real' stores will not sell here on Ramindtra. The mom and pops are getting rid of their supplies at inflated prices (90 baht for Chang 120 baht for Leo). Any word for other people?
