  1. Wish I could change title...lol 2 more Thai Embassies mail in: 2 Yes 1 Ask Immigration 2 No Mods can lock/delete thread if they wish, since my title is misleading.
  2. I'm sorry to hear that and, unfortunately, I'm already counting on that being the same case when I'm to extend in mid-december. Makes little sense, but that's life.
  3. Hi, I'm sharing this as it's probably (good) news for some other STV holders as well. I entered mid september on a fresh STV and was given 3 months at entry. The scheme was ended by the government last week. I did, however, mail 5 European Thai Embassies and asked if the original extensions still was allowed. 2 Yes 1 Ask Immigration 0 No's I'll update when the last 2 answers arrive. ????
  4. Great feedback all, thanks. Agreed, the Nmax seems to have "overtaken" Pcx in my sphere of friends/general observation as well. A handful years ago I only saw pcx's.... The Nmax is tempting, but I'm worried about the increased size....it just seems bulkier to manage? On another note, the Yamaha/Honda official stores - are one able to "try" out bikes?
  5. Hi, If I would observe my 2 years of bike history +95% of rides are inner city, usually lasting 10min with the occasional 20min ride. My 2019 Yamaha Aerox have served me well, but honestly, it's the only bike besides Honda Click i've ever tried. I'm about to buy a new bike. For my purpose, what are the clear models that come in mind? Agreed, there are some fantastic +300cc bikes; I simply don't need that power in my current life/living situation. You who have tried both the PCX and Aerox, how would you describe your experience? bless!
  6. Thanks guys! Perhaps it was interpreted odd that asked for Local/Asean websites, but from my understanding models can differ somewhat from what's released in the US; and also release dates etc.
  7. Hi, I'm about to buy a new bike and I feel that I simply lack information and coverage of the current models out there, upcoming models, reviews etc. With that said, are there any websites (local or asean) that cover MC's that you could recommend?
  8. By today we should've gotten news if the STV scheme were to be extended, but I see no news about it (but it's still up on most European Thai Embassies). Fingers crossed a PM today! ????
  9. Hi, I entered on a STV yesterday and Immigration was, contrary to previous experience with a STV, extremely smooth. They didn't look at any documents (hotel booking/rental conctracts/insurance docs/vaccine docs etc.) where as last year they scrutinized everything in detail. I just wanted to send that update to all of you! Also, another question - I was told the TM6 was discontinued. So, that won't be requested for me when I make an extension? Or is it perhaps something similar to the TM30 i.e. something that needs to be taken care of early days in the trip.
  10. This got me thinking, and you're correct: I had to supply the last 6pages of my passport to the system and if it was checked thoroughly they could've seen I hadn't left Thailand while applying. Either they didn't care about that detail, or they didn't notice.
  11. Thanks for all the input, perhaps it's helpful for many of us since it's somewhat of a new protocol. The IO most certainly have the tools to see what country I'm currently arriving from. But it's (to my understanding) not outright clear that he would reject a (let's say) Norwegian citizen arriving directly from Vietnam, with an approved Single Entry Tourist Visa that was acquired via the evisa-system as a Norwegian citizen. The big Q is rejection should/will be rejected on the basis that it was not applied for while being in Norway. As someone mentioned above, it is perhaps reasonable to expect that it will be enforced in the future as the current system (physical applications) don't let you apply for TV's while in the country.
  12. Hi, I mentioned in a STV thread earlier last week that I applied for, and got granted, my new STV all while still being located inside Thailand. In my situation I went back to my homecountry and I'm about to re-enter next week. With all this in mind, is it reasonable to conclude that closer "visa runs" such as applying for a TV in Vietnam, now will be a lot less headache? Or is the routine different if I apply for a TV in a country of which I'm not a citizen in? Of course, it wasn't the end of the world spending 2 days in Saigon running back and forth to the consulate, standing in line, dozen of documents, photos that needed to be taken etc. - but it would be a breeze just to everything online beforehand.
  13. Hi, I'm looking to replace my good old drip coffee maker for a coffee machine(pods). It's somewhat of a new area for me. It's a 1-person household and I actually only drink regular/black coffee and not looking for a latte-setup (or the likes). Any ideas.? ????
  14. I might also add that my new STV was approved last week (very swiftly) and I'm entering the kingdom on Sep. 23rd.
  15. Hi, Have any of you read on your local embassies, or something of that nature, if the STV scheme will 1) be extended post september 2) if not extended, atleast able to do the aforementioned extensions ? ???? Thanks
  16. Any news about STV in the PM? Hopefully that will continue past september 2022.
  17. Haven't been in Phuket for a while: are Grab/Bolt commonplace there and "reasonable" prices?
  18. Perhaps the STV-scheme will not be canceled next month after all. Fingers crossed!
  19. Update: While abroad (in Thailand) I applied for a new STV on this Sunday and it was approved and e-mailed to me yesterday afternoon. I'm heading home next month and "staying home" for 3 weeks, and then I enter Thailand again. Hopefully without any issues. We don't know yet if 1) The STV scheme is to be extended 2) Even if the STV scheme is not extended, are we able to do the 2 extensions granted to us who entered on this visa Fingers crossed that even though the scheme might end, we who entered on the visa in required time ought to be able to do all the extensions. It would be quite harsh if not. Any takes on this point? Bless.
  20. This is perhaps a controversial idea, but I can share what've done (successfully) two times: I just edited an old Airplane ticket/booking in Adobe Reader and printed it out. Staff at the counter just checked the tickets date and voila - I was able to enter. Embassies as well air counter staff *do* have access to a database showing if a ticket is live or not, but I would argue it's used rarely.
  21. Do we have any reports of Tourist Visa's getting bounced at BKK IM "now" at post-C19? My STV is ending next month and I'll try to get back in via an TV the coming month (i.e. a month cool-down). I have no overstays or covid-extensions etc. either, if that would slightly tilt the decision in my favor. Fingers crossed. ????
  22. Great input, everyone - thanks! I was completely unaware about the "Fitne" brand and, according to their website, their whole Tea-segment included Senna. I'll probably go with that brand, since it's available in 7/11's/BigC's. Any other ideas on the topic of constipation? I don't want to go down the (dangerous) route of stimulative laxatives, instead trying to improve me overall lifestyle. (the senna tea is for days when I really need to empty it asap...). I've heard metamucil is a great supplement. Is there perhaps a Thai alternative for that as well? Have a good day gents
  23. Hi, "Back home" I usually buy a package of Senna Tea OTC. Would you guys know if it's available here and if there's a particular local name/brand to it? Thanks!
  24. Hi, I'm returning back on a STV 1th of september and my ambition is to travel again on a new STV before the scheme (supposedly) ends 30th of september. Logging on to the e-visa website I'm practically able to apply for another STV now already. Even if I set my "Nationality:X" and "Location: Thailand" it seems to work. Are there any limitations to apply for, and have granted, a new VISA before going home?
